I have lived here two years and have enjoyed my time here at Lakeshore Estates. I appreciate the activities and friends I have made here. The staff has been very helpful to all of us. We do have a life alert chain we use, always if we need any medical attention we press our button and someone is here.

I don't believe that I have ever lived in a place such as this in all of my nearly 80 years before! I lived all of my years, before seventeen - when I married my first husband, In "Boarding Homes". Not one of them was anything akin to 'Lakeshore'. In them, rules applied to each and every resident, the room prices didn't go up at ridiculous increments, and the food was not the lowest priority on the monthly list. The people who live and work here are mostly great to be around! This place wouldn't survive if the weren't! We are "Holidays' Tax Write-off"! We aren't as senile as they seem to believe we are.

The place is great. The food is not too good.

Make mealtimes earlier: Breakfast 8:00-9:30 Lunch 11:30 - 1:00 Dinner 4:30-6:00

It's ok.

If rent was more reasonable this place may be full of residents. Because most retired people do not have a lot of money to spend on rent, doctors, and meds. Also, rent does not need to fo up each year, it should stay the same as the first payment.

The landscaping and the decor are positive attributes, along with the friendly residents. It's a nice, quiet place to live. The turnover in staff over the years is not good. The food continues to be the issue! It doesn't matter who the manager is, unless corporate adjusts their budget for the kitchen and quality of food, nothing will ever change. So many of the meals are heavy on carbs, (example: sliced sausage on a bun with tater tots and cake) lack of seasonal fruits and vegetables, lack of sugar free desserts, soups look like broth added to leftover mixed vegetables, not enough variety of breads, too many meals that include sausage (not breakfast sausage).

[Name removed] talked so softly I had to turn up my volume. One woman was playing a lively recital on the piano and he said four women like to play the piano there. The noise level was uncomfortable to the point I'm not sure about living there. It was spartan atmosphere otherwise because of Covid 19 I suppose. I like the idea of a balcony apt. With home health cost added to rent it compares in price to The Lexington which has more to offer.

I would not recommend this community, don't come. The treat us like we are children, it is the management that not the everyday staff. Prior to the shutdown, the food was very good when is was served in the dining room , but now it has deteriorated considerably. People are moving out everyday and are very unhappy We are also moving out .

I would not move my mom in there again. They had a lot of activities and they are missed. The residents loved the outside entertainment that they brought in. This community does not have a guard on staff 24/7 so security is my biggest concern. Things happen at night and there is no one there to handle it. My concern is the safety issues that I see when I walk around the building that needs to be cleaned up. The cost has stayed the same but the food quality has really gone down. I have addressed my issue with the cooperate office and have not seen a change. The staff is under a lot of stress. The manager has not been responsive. They no longer are doing weekly housekeeping.

They are considered independent Living and I don't think they turn anyone away. There were a lot of people there that were not independent. That made it difficult being with folks that had much higher care needs. My mother in law did not like the food. The room sizes and layout of the community were good. Could use some updating.

They have lousy food , the quantity was limited amount, and the food didn't taste good The dining service are very slow and you may wait 45 to over and hour to get your food. The rest the staff, not including the dining area, were pretty good. There were literally no activities. They had very little offered. The housekeeping was good.

My mom was on a very strict diet and the dining staff have gone out of their way and tried to accommodate her needs but with limited variety. The care of the nursing staff has been very kind and efficient, but we have had more issues with the administrative staff. We chose this community because it was the best in our neighborhood. They seem to always be short staffed. Also, they offered the staff very little training especially in the memory care. It could be the perfect community for someone who needs a low level of care, however, in our situation, it was not. We have been thankful for the community because it was wanted we needed at this time.

It is a beautiful place. The parking lot is tight with a limited number of parking spaces. We chose this community because of price and the initial upfront costs were affordable. Her apartment is smaller but it seems quite nice. She doesn't mind the food, it arrives to her room on time, but she says there is too much sodium in it. We told them but we can't seem to get that resolved.

There is a definite lack of investment by the owners. It has been in operation for several years and they have never replaced the carpeting or renovated the apartments. There is a significant staff turnover. They haven’t had a shuttle bus driver for over 4 months. The food is mediocre at best. There is a fairly new manager who is an improvement over the previous managers

One bedroom apt.Was nice but too small for two people. NO medical care except what you hire. You wear a medical alert beeper. When money runs out you go to nursing home.

Since I reviewed last, Renaissance does have a new chef. Trouble is the food is still not tasty nor attractive. Examples: canned green peas with no seasoning, pork and salmon are over cooked and very dry, cake is dry as can be. For what the residents are paying in rent, Holiday Corp. could afford to pay a good chef! Other problems I listed before still remain.

My close relatives moved in to The Renaissance 4 months ago. I am so disappointed, and I’m doing my best to keep my loved ones upbeat and positive. The staff is very friendly. At first, the food was wonderful! After about a month, corporate came in and fired the chef. Since that time, the food has gotten steadily worse. Tonight, the food was close to being inedible. The spa has been “out of order” since they moved in. It is very difficult to get repairs done. The place is clean, but badly in need of general maintenance (hall carpet needs to be replaced, hall walls,door facings, and patio and balconies need paint. Corporate needs to understand that there is now some real competition in the area.

It was more what we were looking for, it needs to be updating. I still have questions to ask {name removed]. She was very helpful.

The Heritage in Tomball is a nice facility and is well maintained. For the price you pay the food is horrible and keeps getting worse. They keep charging for things that are questionable. They charge a monthly fee for the emergency pendant. If a patient is self medicating they are now adding a $50 monthly fee to have medication refills delivered to the medication room to be delivered when they make their medication rounds. Mind you this is not a special trip. I feel that they are trying to nickel and dime their residents.
