Arden Courts was the place I chose for my husband last August. My family and I are very happy with my decision. The minute you walk in you feel a comfort for your loved ones. The care he receives is excellent. They have a beautiful outside area that is open during the day. Because if AC’s size, it is easy to know everyone. The nursing care is excellent. The food is excellent too Before the Covid virus I visited everyday. The activities included everyone. I am now FaceTiming & visiting through the window. I know he is in good hands.

I have spent a lot of time thinking about all the work you are doing. The strength you all possess to continue giving such good care to our loved ones is just staggering. I realize these COVID times must make your job more challenging. I know "thank you" must seem like a shallow and empty phrase by now but from the bottom of my heart, thank you for taking care of my mom.

My MOM has been a resident there since [date removed]. She loves her place, it fits her and it feels like hers. The staff is 1st class, they know you when you visit , the nursing staff is always in contact and if I have concerns they are addressed right away I cannot say enough positive about this place. So glad she is there, during this COVID, their residents are their first priority, yes it has been hard but I would rather be able to talk to her daily then the other alternative. GREAT JOB everyone, and also their food is great!!!

My Mother, moved in with me in 2005 and remained so until 2019. She was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2011. At that time, she remained in my home and I took care of her needs. I discovered, however, that I was unable to continue to do this by myself, so I hired some in home caregivers. Over the years we had caregivers and found it necessary to increase their hours as time passed. Her quality of life diminished as her slow developing Alzheimer's progressed. She was receiving care, but chose to remain in her chair most of the day. In the meantime, my own health began to deteriorate. The family discussed the matter and with my reluctance, My brother [name removed] and I agreed to look over a few facilities. The family left the final decision to me and I selected Arden Court ( It proved to be one of the best decisions of our lives). We put a deposit down to hold a spot for Mom. It took five years to finally let Mom go. [Name removed], the director at Arden Court, was patient and sympathetic with her guidance throughout that time. She remained in touch and went above and beyond in her support. In January 2019, my Mother Virginia at 95 years of age, found her new home in Arden Court. Arden Court's facilities are excellent. They are clean, the staff is of the highest quality and compassion. The private rooms with bath are cleaned daily by the housekeeper. Each unit has its own living room and dining room allowing a sense of home for the patient. [Name removed] has seen to it that there are daily activities and every holiday Arden Court is decorated accordingly. [Name removed] beat the state in closing Arden to all visitors as Covid19 was emerging. She sees to it that her staff is screened, and took measures to insure that no outsiders enter the facility. Since Covid19 the headquarters of Arden Court has supplied their facilities with an I-Pad thus allowing families to talk and see their loved ones. This was a very comforting idea. Of course, you can talk to your family on the telephone at any time. [Name removed] and I found our interaction with [name removed] and the staff, either in person or on the telephone, have always been helpful, attentive, and extremely caring. Overall, to me, Arden Court, the director, and the staff are considered to be God's Angels. My Mother is healthier and happier, looks better, than she had while receiving home care. She participates in activities and interacts with the other patients within her abilities. I offer sharing my experiences more in detail with anyone who may have some doubts or is in a similar turmoil as I was before the final decision. My brother [name removed] and I are blessed to have found a new home for Mother in Arden Court.

When the time came to decide on a Memory Care facility for my Mother 2 1/2 years ago, my siblings and I wanted a place where sociability was encouraged. My Mother has been a very social person her entire life, and Arden Courts has been wonderful for her! They keep the residents busy with crafts, cooking demonstrations, trivia, sing-alongs and many more. The fact it's divided into 4 different communities of people makes it easier for Mom to recall her surroundings. It's also run by very kind people!

Although my Grandmother has only been at Arden Courts San Antonio few weeks, It has been a wonderful experience. We had been preparing for the better half of a year for my Grandmother’s transference of care into a Memory Care home. Arden Courts San Antonio and [name removed] there in particular, have made this a very easy and successful transition. My heart no longer feels heavy and worried. I know my Grandmother is getting the best care possible. The staff at Arden Courts San Antonio is friendly, compassionate and always willing to help. We look forward to my Grandmothers continuance of care there, and are very happy she is able to call Arden Courts San Antonio, home.

Even with the COVID restrictions, my mother has benefited from the many activities at Arden Courts. She's met some nice friends and enjoys the company of her small community. The staff is always ready to give me updates on her adjustment and having a neurologist on staff is of tremendous benefit. Her move to Arden Courts has exceeded our expectations and I feel she is in a safe and caring environment.

Our family loves Arden Courts and couldn’t be more thankful that we found such a wonderful place for my husband to live. When we could no longer care for him at home we began our search. Initially, we heard great things about [name removed] who specializes in treating all forms of dementia and sees residents weekly at Arden Courts. We knew we needed help with medication.[Name removed] saw my husband the day after he moved in and then our family was able to meet with her and the rest of the care team immediately afterward. She explained that it would take time because each medication had to be added individually so she could tell what was working. They let us know that their desire is to use the least amount of medication necessary. The other thing the care team emphasized was their desire to help each resident keep as much independence as possible. True to her word, [name removed] gradually found the right balance of medication for him but also continues to monitor him in case she needs to make any changes. We can meet with her and the care team anytime we have questions or concerns. Although the care team was our first consideration, we were so pleased to find the rest of the staff very knowledgeable and engaging. The director, as well as many of the staff, have been there for ten years or more. At our very first visit we were given a wealth of information including a very informative book about the different kinds of dementia. We were very impressed with the amount of training the caregivers receive. All of our caregivers have been loving, caring and, above all, patient and kind. You can tell they really love what they do and know that they’re making a difference. The facility is divided into four “houses” each with its own kitchen, living room and dining room. This makes for such a warm, homey, and welcoming atmosphere. Each room is equipped with a sink and commode and each house has two showers (they call them “The Spa”) easily accessible down the hallway. Although each resident calls one house their “home” they are free to walk through each house as well as access the beautiful courtyard with walking paths on their own during the day. My husband loves this freedom. One of our favorite things to do is invite all the kids and grandkids over for a picnic in the courtyard. The food is delicious and served to each table in the Individual dining rooms. The portions are ample and there’s typically enough for extras if someone is especially hungry. They also keep yummy snacks in the kitchen if anyone needs a little something to eat between meals. They have lots of activities throughout the day and evening with plenty of variety. They provide a monthly calendar with all the activities listed so family members can plan to join in the fun. The activities director also schedules special events for families to particulate in. At Christmas each family was asked to bring a special ornament and their loved one placed it on the tree. In our family, my husband was in ministry his whole life, so we found a beautiful little ornament of a country church. The staff drew names and each resident received a gift bought especially for them. The kids and grandkids got to come and have “breakfast with Santa” and give him their wish list. Besides activities for residents and their families, Arden Courts also has educational opportunities for the community. They’ve had great speakers, the virtual tour that simulates what persons with dementia experience, as well as support groups for family members and others. During this difficult time when we've been unable to be with my husband due to Covid19, we are so thankful to know that he is loved and well cared for and the nursing/caregiving staff keeps us in touch. We’ve been able to FaceTime and have “through the window visits” with him as well.

The community was meticulous about wiping down and cleaning all the surfaces at the community. The staff were all very kind and all very nice. They were always right on top of the care of my husband and took care of him very well. They did offer activities and my husband did enjoy the art classes. Arden Courts Of Fair Oaks was expensive, but I do think they were worth it. To those who were helping with the admissions process, they were all very supportive and helpful. This very much reassured me that he was in a very safe place and did a good job with supporting me as the family.

My mother has finally transitioned from Arden Courts to a Medicaid care facility. Altogether, she spent 2 years and 6 months at Arden Courts. If she didn't have to leave due to financial circumstance, we would have no reason to move her. The staff and management truly gave my mom truly first-class care the entire time she was there. And, they were kind, patient and warm toward her, me, and my entire family when we visited her. Before her stay, she was living in a garden apartment, struggling with Dementia, in denial, eating poorly, etc. etc. I had to walk through the painful process of basically taking control of her life with legal guardianship. Since moving into Arden in 2018, she looks noticeably healthier, is properly medicated (after years of suffering without), and is a lot happier. Don't be mislead: Dementia is a *damn* cruel disease. Watching your loved one erode will test you. But, at least my mom had some comfort and peace along the way -- there's not much more we could ask for. I normally avoid social media outlets like the plague. But, now with that chapter of my mom's life closed, I think it's important to speak up for folks that honestly are trying to do right. I can definitively give a strong vote of confidence for entrusting these folks with the care of my mother. It worked out well for us.

We have been very happy with Arden Courts and the executive director. She is very responsive and is always there to take a call. Every time I have visited, the community has always been very clean and very nice. The staff is great and the last time I visited mother, two of the caregivers came out with her and stayed the whole time with her while I visited and were very pleasant and helpful during our visit. They are always very responsive to our requests. Mother has several care needs and they have been doing an incredible job accommodating for those needs and ensuring she is healthy. They do have a lot of very good activities like music, people singing, and instrument playing. My mother participates in the on-community events and the activities director is very good and clearly tries the best she can with those who are a little less mobile.

My sister had initially spoken and taken a tour with [name removed], then my brother and I went a few days later to tour with [name removed] . We were very happy with the information we received and also glad to see the residents in an activity. The calendar we were given had a variety of activities for the residents to choose from. The staff at Arden Courts goes above and beyond their duties to make residents and family members feel at home. My mother had been a resident elsewhere but this is the ONLY place she called her home after less than a week of residing at Arden Courts. That is in itself is a huge accomplishment. Recently my mother voluntarily expressed how well she was treated and that she was happy. Although the virus has kept the community off limits to family members, there are different communications sent to keep us updated with what they are doing to keep the residents safe and healthy as well as a calendar of activities along with pictures of some the end results. My family really enjoyed driving by for Mother's Day with the residents outside. It was very special for us as children, grandchildren and great grandchildren to see her in person. My mother looked very happy and healthy. We are able to have face time or window visits with her also. Whenever I have called to speak to my mother, to ask a question or just to ask how she is doing, , everyone takes time out of their busy schedule to respond or to ask others if they need more information before they respond. I feel that all the staff are dedicated and have a passion for what they do because of the way they communicate every time I call. It is not just a quick response but a sincere effort on their part. I would highly recommend Arden Courts to anyone who needs a place for a family member.

Thank you to everyone at Arden Courts! In my moms first week realizing she needed medical attention ASAP. Surgery was successful, then rehab. Y’all welcomed her back but because of pandemic we haven’t been able to visit. Y’all have come through with FaceTime, Mother’s Day parade. To hear her say she loves you helps us during this time of not being able to be with her. Thank you to each person providing care or any service for our mom!

I couldn’t find a place for my husband due to his violent behavior. Arden Courts San Antonio took [name removed] in after another Memory Care facility failed him bu getting him put in jail his first night. AC worked with me and my daughter to get [name removed] help and were able to handle his violent tendencies. They said they could take him temporarily until I found one that VA would help pay for; they never pushed me into a full-time solution. However, I decided to keep him there as they proved to me that he was being taken care of with compassion and humor. He settled in and seems to be happy.

They have managed to keep the Covid-19 pandemic out of the community entirely. The staff is very consistent with keeping families updated on what is going on in the community and started a Facebook page to post information and photos on. The communication between the staff and our family is excellent. We have been very satisfied with the treatment my wife is getting and gets a lot of one-on-one time with the care giving staff. We did look at several communities in the area and we think this is the best one. They have activities every day and there is always something going on. They take the residents outside as much as possible and bring a lot of outside entertainment in. The actives are never repetitive and they often go off-community for ice cream or to museums and other things like that. They do serve ice cream every day in one of the amenities. The management and nursing staff do a video conference every day with the families that so we can ask questions and understand what they planning for the future. The staff really seems engaged with the residents.

My mother has been in several communities over the years. She received the best care at Arden Courts. I wish I had moved her there sooner. When she was in the hospital the doctor after examining her he said wow, they are taking really good care of her. When I toured all the residents looked well cared for, even their laundry looked good. Her white were white. They take care of the residents like family. They made sure she ate well. They were very caring.
