While the facility is very new, we were not impressed with the shared room concept. We understand there is research supporting it but for an individual who has lived alone in her own home, it maybe disconcerting. Also concerned with the large deposit required which was nonrefundable after 30 days.

I visited this community when I was looking into care options for a loved one. I thought this was a very nice looking place! My loved one was not quite ready for this level of memory care, but Silverado Brookfield is definitely somewhere I would consider should her needs progress to that level. The facility itself was clean and well kept, and the staff all seemed very friendly and professional. One thing I did not like is that they have shared rooms for memory care patients, which I do not think my loved one would be comfortable in.

I think the place is absolutely well worth it. It is no a very large facility which makes it more intimate andseau small intimate and the staff is very well trained and is very caring and supportive. The activities are sufficient and its been only a month since I have gotten there and I am very happy overall.

Good memory care. 4 pods, 15 people in each, not full; 7 to 1 ratio. Very nice outdoor walk and patio.

They are doing a good job. It's really nice, and lovely. I was pleased with it. Their pharmacy is three times as expensive as the one I use, though. The gals that do the entertaining are superb, and so busy. The food is good. The gal who does the marketing is outstanding as is the director they are just such loving and caring people, and always willing to give you a hug if you need it.

Unfortunately our loved one was only here for a short time, but overall I think they do a very good job at Arden Courts. The staff are great at working with family members, and they are all very knowledgeable about the issues that people with dementia and Alzheimer's will face. Unfortunately our loved one's care needs were just more than they were equipped to handle, but they went above and beyond trying to find a solution that would work for us. It didn't work out for us, but I think this would be an excellent facility for someone with memory care needs, but that are otherwise fairly healthy.

MANY FACILITIES THAT DEAL WITH PEOPLE WHO NEED ASSISTANCE ARE BELOW WHAT MY STANDSARDS ARE FOR HEALTH CARE. NOT SO WITH USMC. THE FACILITY IS CLEAN, VERY ATTRACTIVE SURROUNDINGS, DESIGNED TO APPEAL TO PEOPLE WITH DEMENTIA, SAFE AND SECURE. THE FOOD IS FIVE STAR. OVER THE LAST SEVERAL WEEKS, I HAVE HAD AN OPPORTUINTY TO OBSERVE THE STAFF AND THEIR RELATION TO THE RESIDENTS. I CAN ONLY CONCLUDE THAT THE STAFF THAT I HAVE SEEN ARE CALLED TO THIS PROFESSION. NO ONE MOTIVATED ONLY BY MONEY WOULD BE THAT CARING. THE MEALS ARE VARIED, SERVED HOT, ON TIME AND ARE NUTRITIONAL. RESIDENTS ARE FREQUENTLY MONITORED TO DETERMINE NEEDS. THE TEAM OF NURSES ARE PROFESSIONAL, ATTENTIVE TO CARE GIVER CONCERNS AND KEEP THE CARE GIVER AWARE OF ANY MEDICAL NEEDS. THIS ALL SPEAKS TO AN OUTSTANDING MANAGEMENT.

We toured this community when we were looking into care options for a loved one. I thought this place looked nice overall, and I was impressed with what I saw here! It's a clean, well kept community, and the staff all seemed very friendly. They are worth a look, if you are looking into senior living in the area!

Love the outdoor area and the fact that residents can walk all the way around! Sadly my mother in law ended up closer to her daughter's home.

The staff is very clean and pretty friendly. I felt like their community fee was pretty high, and they were not very flexible. Sometimes I will see a group of residents in an area, and I won't see any staff there to monitor them, or keep an eye on them. I don't see a lot of activity, I see some, but she can't participate a lot, so I may not notice as much. The meals seem to be adequate, the level of food and presentation are pretty good. They have a crew that does nothing but laundry, and one for just the dining room. That frees the caregivers up to focus on the residents. They do laundry every day. Maryanne the family ambassador here, is very good at her job. The people I have met here, Linda, the nurses and Maryanne are great. It's a very open and layout, they don't separate the levels, and they can walk all around. They also have a full time social worker, so if the CNA's and nurses have a tough time, she is there to help, and they have a support group that the social worker hosts. They have a house dog that everyone likes a lot, it's very well trained and behaves well. They also have a three hole putt putt in the garden, and a greenhouse, they have a lot of different things. They also have events geared toward the families, and are very encouraging of family time.

It's been really pretty good. I like the size of the place, they don't take too many residents, and they keep the ratio of caregivers to residents at a good balance. The age range is closer to his than the last place. The food looks nice, but it's not as great as I would like it to be, sometimes the chicken is dry. There was a salmon with a mango chutney, but they didn't have any other options, and they have a lot of broccoli. They are coming out with an anytime menu, I would like to see more options. It's a beautiful facility, they have kitchens where the residents can go, with refrigerators, where they can grab a drink or a snack. I think they are still working out a few bugs, they opened less than a year ago, but they are doing a pretty good job so far.

Exceptional 13-year old facility; clean & a secure compound that is dedicated in caring for dementia residents. Primary drawback is the cost over a long-term sustainability with approximately $70K per year with a initial buy-in/deposit of $3K. Another drawback is the driving distance for most of the family in the area, located on the West Shore in Camp Hill and Mechanicsburg areas. Additionally, their other division for nursing homes is not rated very well in the event a resident needs to transition from Assisted Living/Memory Unit to an actual nursing home.

Silverado is fantastic. They have rugs in the common area that could use a cleaning. Everything else is very clean. I never see any dust or dirt anywhere. The staff is excellent, I haven't ran into anyone who isn't friendly. They are also very good about when I call they know my voice and who I am calling for and why, what building she is in. I think they are set up very well. There are four ranch type homes that are large squares with a common area in the middle with the rooms on the outside. Even with four buildings they know me by name. I've looked around a lot and I believe she is getting the same quality of care as she would have anywhere and they are about three quarters of the price others would have charged. I like that it is strictly memory care and Alzheimer's, there are no other levels of care, so they all know what they are working with and how to deal with it. Communication with me has been great, they always call me very shortly after something happens. I don't think any of these places are as attentive as they could be, and I would like to see more walking around and asking if they need more water or things like that. There is enough personnel around to do that. They are extremely patient with me, and with my loved one. The food is very good, they say they offer a choice, but not when they are presenting it to the person. If they don't eat what is presented to them, then they will ask if they want something else, but the choice is not presented up front. If we are there at mealtime, they encourage us to stay and eat, and there is no charge for that. My only criticism is that because it is four buildings, the only way from building to building is outside, I am not sure how that will work in the winter. Outside entertainment will come to one building and people gather to it, it seems in the winter that may be an issue. I've heard that the entertainment will rotate buildings from week to week so they will all get the chance to see it, but I feel like each building should have entertainment each week.

I think it's very clean. The staff is very friendly. They are a little more expensive than others. I think he gets good care, but there have been a few things that have bothered me. There was a bruise one time, that I couldn't really explain. However they were very quick to take care of my concern. They put him in his chair and take him down to eat every time, whether he wants to go or not, and I do like that. I would like to see them put him it with the group activities. They did have him in the group activity for the very first time, which I noticed and really liked. I have had to ask for the bill, I had to just go up and pay, but this is the second bill and they still haven't sent me one. They don't rely on hospice for everything, which I also like.

I really liked the idea they have to place residents in neighborhoods according to their level of dementia care. Each neighborhood is equipped with it's own dining room, kitchen, tv/living room, medicine room, and chart room. I also like that most of the rooms open up to a hall that has openings where they can see other people are in the kitchen or living room. My mom does not like to be lost or alone. The draw back for us was the age of this facility. It is brand new and the corporation is fairly new to memory care. The people working there are trained in memory care, but as of the time we visited there were only 13 residents. It just opened about a month ago and I am a little hesitant. Still under consideration.

My niece tried the food and said it wasn’t very good, but I haven’t personally tried the food. The community is all very pleasant. They have nice outside areas. The parking is okay. The staff is friendly enough.

However, the only rooms they had available were shared rooms, and we just didn't think our loved one would have been comfortable with a roommate.

The first 24 hours was unsettling do to some miss communication with the nurding staff. The problem was rectified promtly but could have done without the worry it created.

Very nice facility...clean and well-kept. Beautiful, secure walking path through garden setting. Staff is friendly and accessible. Planned activities throughout the day to keep residents occupied mentally and physically. We are very pleased with our choice.

After careful review of assisted living and memory care communities we selected Silverado for Mom. Staff is friendly, compassionate, professional, and always willing to help. The community has a resort-like feel to it, beautiful decor, and a wonderful courtyard. We love the well-mannered pets who live in the community. Love that staff often bring their pets and children to work with them. The food is great and families are welcome to share meals at any time. It is a very hard decision to move a loved one out of their home and into an unfamiliar place. Silverado has done a great job making the transition easier.
