Memory Care has perpetual foul odor, in part due to the urine soaked upholstery in TV area. The community shower is not clean, feces present, and rooms are marginally maintained. Dining tables have fresh linens, but no flowers like Assissted Care. Only occasional quiz games, karaoke, lunch outings. Constant TV movies. Meds dispensed haphazardly & unprofessionally by contract co. Pros: safe location, easy parking, friendly staff, food average-good, supplements available, total care available, safe locked unit, better choice of care in that area overall. Family must visit every day, take laundry, show concern and speak up.

Get past lobby, take elevator to upper floors and see how filthy the hallway carpets are. If they can't keep the carpets vacuumed just imagine how dirty the apartments are. Housekeeping is a nightmare. My mother has lived there two years and her carpet has never been shampooed. Feces on toilet bowl was there over a week until I cleaned. People are friendly, they just do not do their jobs. Corporate pays lousy and squeezes every penny out of the place. Employee turnover is constant. Food has declined with each new director. Three in two years. What does that tell you? Marketing promises the moon & stars and that is what the prices reflect, but not what the resident receives. Activities are geared toward independent residence, assisted living residents are pretty much ignored.

Dede gave us a tour. My sister and i are looking for a place for our parents. I was very impressed with every single person as well as the community as it is called. I am 57 and would not mind living there myself. Dede was great and it turns out my sister has known her for several years through another business. She said she had always been fair and honest. With that we will be moving our oarents in as soon as they are willing.

Although the place was nice enough and overall had a good feel, they handled a major mistake with my mother's meds very poorly. They basically, on accident, put my Mom into significant withdraws when they miss-ordered and miss-administered her med. Even though they admitted this was a mistake, they would not honor their written policy of a refund for the 2 months she was there. We would have been happy with anything, but they just stonewalled us and we gave up.

This place is a joke, the residents best interest aren't at heart. The director and nursing manager only care about census. Low quality caregivers who talk badly about the residents and treat them poorly. The residents health and safety are last on the list of priorities. It's is dirty and unsanitary. Look elsewhere. Wouldn't recommend this place to a dying rat.

They offered us 3 months free rent in Assisted Living and quoted us $3,000 for rent. After Grandma was there for 3 months they raised the rent by another $1000. They will tell you they onlly have 1 apartment available but if you look around they have several vacant apartments. Staff is slow to respond to needs, food is ok. I would look at competition even though they talk bad about other facilities. I wish we would have done more homework. They also will tell you they have Medicaid available when you run out of money but when you need it they do not have any "approved" apartments availalbe and its hard to find a nice facility that accepts Medicaid without a spend down. We had to move Grandma out to a facility that was not as physcially nice when she spent all her money at Harborcrest after a couple of years, but the care is decent. It's sad becasue She misses her friends.

They gave us 3 months free rent off of Assisted Living which was enticing and gave us a rate after the 3 months. However, once the 3 months was up they increased the rent $1500 more than they quoted when we toured. Apartments are nice and food is okay but staff is not responsive to needs. They wine and dine you till you move in then don't give a crap unless you threaten to move out. They told us they only had 1 room available but went you walk around you will see a lot of vacant apartments. I would look into competition (which they talk poorly about) before moving into this complex. At this point we don't want to Grandma because she is too fragile and feel she would not do well but I wish we made a different decision in the first place.
