We were under the impression there would be more "assisting" available to integrate my father into the facility. He only lasted 3.5 days until we moved him back home. Physically he was so beyond all of the other residents. He walks 2-5 miles a day and we were told there would be other residents to walk with him, but there weren't. their walking group walked about 1 block a day. After the weekend, where my sister and I were with him most of both days, on Monday we were called and told we needed to get him 24/7 care which we couldn't afford, so we moved him back home on Tuesday evening.

I really enjoy the people at this community, they are all very friendly and kind. This is a good community, everything looks nice and clean. The staff is great, they are always willing to help. There isn't many activities, but this is more a mellow community. I enjoy the meals, the food is pretty good. This is community has a relaxed atmosphere. If you're not very active, I would recommend this community for you.

She didn't like Brookdale very much. They didn't have a very good response time there for the call bell. They were all very pleasant, but just not enough staff for a high level of care. This wasn't a great fit for us.

This facility is located next to Emory St Joseph and Northside Hospital. The exterior is beautiful and the interior is attractive. Its not the friendliest place I have visited though. And there were some off-putting odors in the dining area and in some of the hallways that concerned me. Its certainly not cheap and for the price I would expect more.

Rebecca was wonderful, the location is okay, and the residents seem to be happy. The place was clean and very warm and cozy. I just popped in on her because I was in the area and had some free time. She was amazing. We sat down and she remembered every detail about my mom. She shared the information about the retirement center and why this would be a great place for my mom. When we walked through the halls she greeted everyone by name and was enjoyable to talk with. I could see the sense of community. The Down side is that the community is outdated and is about to be refurbished. She did a great job of sharing with me how important it was that the construction did not interfere with the quests. This location is in a residential district and so the parking is very limited. I thought that Rebecca was an excellent sales representative, very profession, friendly and genuine.

We toured this community while looking into care options for a loved one. I just didn't think this place would have been a good fit. It is a large community, and the rooms that were available would have been quite a long walk for my loved one to get to and from the common and dining areas. I also felt the fee they charge for their medication service was VERY high, it would have been a significant portion of the overall bill.

We toured here when we were looking at options. We liked it, but I picked a place that was closer. I don't think they would have been able to handle the level of care that we needed, even though they said they could. There is only one place in the area that would have been able to provide the care we needed but I only found that out later.

It is a Brookdale property now. It was not our first choice for my father, however it is clean and most of the staff are kind and pleasant. The food is appetizing and my father's biggest complaint is the lack of stimulation and daily activities. Folding napkins is not high on his list, nor mine and I would like to see more physical, fun activity . Perhaps when the weather cools there will be. My biggest concern, which has been voiced to the facility director and nursing director, is that the staff do not have name tags and particularly the nurse dispensing medicine. My sister, who was visiting my father over the weekend and is a practicing RN for 30 years, was quite distressed with the lack of proper protocol that the nurse followed in taking a diabetic client's blood sugar (after his meal rather than prior), that she was not gloved, dropped meds on the floor and then gave them to the client after retrieving them from the floor. We have been assured that this particular nurse will soon be moving on, and I hope that closer attention will be paid to the weekend staff and particularly the nurses who are the first line of medical caregiving.

Well they could improve on handling catastrophic events. When the patients get out of hand i don't think they've been trained to handle that, especially with memory care patients.

In the time we were at Brookdale Tanglewood Oaks it seemed fairly nice, but I felt some things like care and activities could use some improvement.

Overall Brookdale Fairfield seems like a nice place, however as of this review they are currently without a director for their memory care section. The aide staff and the medtechs do a great job taking care of the residents, but the activities have suffered a bit since the director left.

Location is great and close to area attractions. Food was great and wide variety of choices. Activities offered by the facility were very minimal and not a lot of tennants joined in them. Rooms spacious and clean. Staff seemed helpful. Management of facility not very clear on specifics of rental agreement and what respite care vs. regular care is. No refund and my dad only stayed 11 days.

This was a short respite stay. Looking back I wasn't exactly happy about how things have been done. It's taken over a month to get a refund. They didn't exactly do any housekeeping in the room while we were there. There was definitely room for improvement in certain areas, it's nice when you walk in. The people were friendly. The portions of the food are small. The response time was little slow when there was a need. The type of things they did, were not ideal for my loved one. They had an activities lady there and met her, they would gather people and try to engage them.

Friendly employees, happy residents. Clean, up to date living quarters that are affordable. Liked it, but didn't love it.

This place was beautiful, high end and elegant. The cleanliness was not as great as it looked though. When we moved out, the bathroom stands stuck to the floor. The staff were very nice, and they loved the residents. They did have activities, but not as much as some places, the food was okay but we moved and everything at the new place is better and we pay about half of what we were paying here.

The facility itself was very nice. It was well groomed and well kept up, and had a comfortable and friendly atmosphere. However they are not shy about increasing costs. After moving my loved one in for an initial rate that we were comfortable with her care costs increased twice within the first month.

The care here was alright up to a certain point, but unfortunately they were not able to meet the care needs of my loved one and we had to move her out. I feel like we were misled during the sales process, we were very clear about the amount of movement assistance she needed and they said it wouldn't be a problem. However after we moved in it became clear that they could not accommodate her as well as they said they could.

Too small in many ways. No balconies.

This was a very nice facility, and their memory care unit was great, but I am not sure this is what my parents are looking for right now. Also, they did not have full kitchens, which is very important to my mom, as she is on a special diet (and extremely picky about what she eats)

Nice facility but staff didn't seem engaged with the residents.
