Seems like a great place. We met with Brent on Saturday and got a tour. We've asked him to start the process of evaluation.

The people are friendly that are on the sales staff, the billing staff, the caregivers, they are great. The nursing supervisors however are not exceptional, they don't communicate with me very well. Response time can be a little slow, I think they just have too many people. The food isn't wonderful, the meat is often tough, and could use better quality of food. I would like to see people come and check in on my loved one a little more often.

Overall they've done a good job. It's a clean place, and the staff seem very nice. One area that could use a lot of improvement is the meal service. The dining service itself can be very slow. The food is decent, I'd rate it at around a 3 out of 5, and they have a nice salad bar.

Since my husband has not yet moved into his room, my evaluation is based on what I have see so far. I hope it is even better.

Very nice facility. Probably not financially workable. Referred me to Emeritus Baywood.

Beautiful facility, Dining room has garden views with waterfall. Apartments have full kitchens, large closets, good natural light and views of garden patio areas. Well equipped exercise area and pool with hot tub. Physical therapy facility on site. WII bowling and good variety of activities. House keeping every 2 weeks, would prefer weekly. Food: salmon was overcooked but the rest of the meal was excellent. Only one meal served on Sunday, brunch. Invited us to theater outing at Kauffman Center, complimentry

We looked at this community while looking into memory care options for my Dad. The facility itself looked very nice, but I don't think it would have been right for Dad. It was a larger community than what we were looking for, and I feel like with his memory issues it would have been very easy for Dad to get lost. The price ceiling was also very high. It started with an amount we could afford but could almost double based on increasing care needs.

The staff provided more relevant information in their materials and presentation than the other facilities giving a good overall impression of an assisted living type of community. The staff was friendly.

The care had been adequate. It's pretty much what my mom needed. I think activity wise they do have some but I would like to see more activities. They've got bingo and they'll have a movie night but each one of those is like once a week and just for one or two hours. My mom isn't able to take advantage of them when they have them just based on the limited amount and the times the do them. Other than that, I'm pretty happy with the way they're taking care of my mother.

The cleanliness and care seem to be very good. They have different charges. You have your basic charge and then your care charge on top of that. They have something going all the time. They have bingo, wine socials once a week or so, devotional services, movies, ice cream socials on Sunday afternoons. They have a good number of activities. They have their busses running to various places for the residents too.

My mother stayed at Freedom Pointe for 30 days. She is now back in her home and is very happy to be there. The environment was bright and clean. The staff was friendly and made every effort to meet her needs. I have and will continue to recommend this facility in the future.

They used to be Merrill Gardens. They were great but they can only provide so much care for assisted living so we ended up moving to a board and care home. The care staff was really good the place was really clean and nice. My parents enjoyed the food too so I would recommend them.

We looked at this when it was still the Merrill Gardens. I liked it and my mom and other siblings liked it. It was the oldest of the three places we looked at but it was well kept. I liked the dining situation. It was just like a restaurant. You had selections to choose from and breakfast wasn't from 8 - 9, it was from whenever they opened the dining room until lunch. Then it was open until 7 and you can go anytime - it was up to you. We really liked that feature.

Pleasant facility, close to Northside and St. Jo's medical community. Seniors appeared active, many were in the dining room having dinner, and quite a lot of talking. Anytime dining is a nice option they have. Looked at 1BR, approx. 500sqft, sink and fridge, can bring microwave. Mom and Dad could be comfortable, I think. Hallways had chair rail ledge to grasp and walk around the facility. Lots of sitting areas in hallway, but a little sterile, not inviting. didn't see anyone using them. Allows for independent and assisted living together, but no memory care. Main concern would be whether Mom could get sufficient care if Dad were gone for most of the day, for example. Not sure she would be able to find the dining room on her own, unless room was close to it. 113 units, 44 men, lots of couples, wait lists for studios and 2BR, one 1BR available

The room that they had available was small and they only had the one room available. The other thing was that it was a little bit older looking and a little worn. The lady that we know that lives there loves it! She says the people there are just so friendly and helpful. She was disappointed when we decided not to place my brother-in-law there. She loves it so that's some thing.

We revisited this again today 8/26/13 and found the outdoor area very inviting and the rooms a perfect size. There was lots of activity going on with lots of resident participation.

I liked that one. They were nice and I liked the way their eating situation was set up. Their food was open from 7 in the morning to 7 at night and you can go whenever.

She's very happy there, its the only one I've seen but the staff all seems up and caring. I don't know much about the activities at this time but it's been positive and I thought they had nice grounds and there certainly were pleasant surroundings. I don't think there's any concerns, they saw 2 or 3 places and may have chose it due to locality. The food was pretty good, there was a good, positive change with our loved one, she gets dressed to go to meals and stuff liek that so that's a good thing, she looked real good when we went up there.

My sister toured this place instead of me. She was very impressed and really enjoyed the tour. Unfortunately they can't accommodate my handicap brother to move in with him. So I'm afraid this won't workout for us.

Their motto is "Many to Many" but I felt like my loved one needed more one on one personal care. It seems like this community is just too big for the type of care that we were looking for, needed more focused care for our loved one.
