New Perspective Senior Living

A good option for assisted living and convenient if a transition to memory care is needed. We picked this community, because of proximity to our houses ( my sister and mine); services available; staff friendliness. I would recommend it.

Regarding staff friendliness, this varied widely among the staff. The spectrum was broad with some being lovely, kind and very helpful while others were almost rude and appeared lazy and unwilling to do much beyond the bare minimum. Many things had to be requested several times before they were done and did not ever seem to become something that would then happen as a matter of course. I did not think we were very demanding or asked for anything out of the ordinary but care and standard tasks would be inconsistent or overlooked altogether. Overall, this respite stay served a purpose for a short time and my father was safe and basically looked after. We had a caregiver who had helped my parents over the last year come in to help on most days and without her supplementing the care and attention my dad received, I don't think it was adequate, and certainly not relative to the cost. There is also very little feedback given or two way dialogue about the resident between Sunrise and myself. This would be very helpful. Again, our own caregiver was able to update us on how my dad was doing, but without her, we would have been entirely in the dark.

The staff were generally doing their best with limited time and resources. I noticed that at dinnertime the care staff was always occupied, so no emergencies could occur around dinnertime. I'd also recommend saving your money and not opting for advanced levels of care because it didn't make a bit of difference in the most important factor for our situation, which was response time. We brought my loved one in to the facility because I had been spending all my time caring for her, and it didn't make a difference because I still had to keep spending time at Sunrise caring for her, since I knew she wasn't getting her basic needs met, big one was going to the bathroom. Many members of the staff were extremely kind, thoughtful, attentive caregivers. They were just stretched far too thin. I felt as though we paid the facility a huge sum of money for me to be working just as hard, and I would absolutely not recommend the facility.

I like it, and would recommend. I like the large tv room with comfortable chairs where my dad hangs out with everyone. His floor also has little areas that make it feel like a community. The business end of the company is lacking!

The facility and aesthetics are beautiful but consistency, communication and overall quality of care have been concerning. I would voice concerns over staffing shortages and quality of care. If the loved one needing placement was requiring a more intense care plan on the memory care unit, I'm not sure I would recommend. Staffing is typically limited and the staff present appear to be more dismissive as opposed to taking the time to redirect memory care residents with compassion.

The tour with Sunrise of Minnetonka was fine. We are keeping my loved one at home with full time care and hoping not to go back to a facility. We only toured with 2 places but Sunrise seemed to be a good fit and had good sales people as well.

My brother is happy here and he likes it. It is very hard to reach anybody by phone and by email and when I go in no one is around. It is very difficult to get through to anybody and I do not reach out that often. That is my main concern.

I have had no major complaints since moving my loved one in.

Overall its a fine place but I continue to look for a better place for my mom. Please feel free to give me a call to discuss further. Food options are really not an option in the memory care floor, sometimes my mother says its uneatable. The activities don't seem to be much, parking is very bad and maintenance is lacking, sidewalks this winter have been very icy .

My Mother in law was at New Prespective Senior Living for approximately 2 months. When we visited we were told the entire place was newly renovated. We were shown 3 apartments, all of them beautiful. When my Mother in law moved in, we were told the base rent was much more than what we had been told because "she chose a newly remodeled unit". They wouldn't budge on the price even after telling them we were told entire building had been remodeled. They were also going through a major staff change including the Executive Director and Marketing Director. They were very short staffed which caused a lot of problems but the majority of staff that was there was phenomenal. I cannot express enough how wonderful they are. My Mother in law chose not to stay and wait for the turn around. I would recommend New Perspectives Senior Living with EXTREME CAUTION. They have a very high reservation fee which is non-refundable. A new Executive Director and Marketing Director were hired so hopefully the staffing issues were fixed. I caution you to make sure you ask a lot of questions, especially about hidden and actual costs and charges and get whatever they say in writing, BEFORE you accept and move in.

When we toured the facility looking for an Assisted Living place to move my mother, sales staff were wonderful showing us all the spaces, going over the amenities, etc. We made the choice to move Mom here based on that. She moved in [date removed]. We had issues with meals and consistency of care, then 4 months into the stay, bed bugs were found and explained that a resident upstairs had them and Mom must have sat in a chair and brought them to her apartment. Room was treated. In May, again, found bugs, treated the room again! In July, found them again and Mom was kept in her room until it could be treated 4 days later--staff weren't notified to bring her food. Found out her new, $1,600 lift/recliner was infested. Told once it was treated we could keep it if we desired. Well, that was wrong! Bugs returned. Administrator didn't seem to care. Her apartment was not cleaned since June. We moved out two weeks ago and are very happy with Mom's new place and the care!

We toured with New Perspective Island Shores and the staff were very nice. It had an older atmosphere/environment and my mom said that she felt that it looked more institutional. They were looking for something more homey.

This community is one that should be checked out. I would recommend you come take a tour and see how you can fit into the community. The community won an award for Best Senior Living community. The staff is prompt to respond to requests made by the residents for assistance. I love the activities the community has to offer.

The units themselves are pretty rundown those could use some remodeling.

Sunrise of Roseville seemed clean and relatively cheery. But it seemed like a large building with too many residents for my loved one to feel comfortable and receive enough attention.

I would say no to this community. There were a lot of things that just went wrong at this community. There were a lot of young workers and they were afraid to work with my loved one and I know that this is their job. I would not recommend this community due to all we went through, there were some great staff and then there were others that just did not work out well

Our family had an in person tour and the staff members were very nice but the facility itself felt more like a hospital and was dreary. I don't think we would of wanted to put our loved ones there.

Our family had an in person tour and it was a definite no, it was not very clean and it had a really low energy feel to it. The residents there had a hard time moving around and our loved one is still very much active.

They have short staff due to covid. It seems like what they told us it would cost it is a lot more than when we originally made agreements. There have been times when my loved one pressed her call button and it took over an hour for someone to come and help my loved one. I think that my loved one feels that she has to maintain more of her care than what is being provided at the community. Medication management and trying to get all of the right supplies can be difficult. We had a care plan meeting a few weeks ago and are hoping for improvements from that but it may be to early to tell at the time.

The staff were wonderful work with. This wasn't the right fit for my loved one. My loved one committed to the community prior to seeing it in person. They did like the fact that the community is smaller.
