Very friendly to your face and sounds like they will be very helpful, but didn't do as much as they said they would. Nothing to share about activities. Room sizes were good

The proximity to my area and the fact that New Perspectives didn't require 2 years of out of pocket payments. I didn't know enough about my relatives finances at the point I was looking at facilities. What would have been my first choice required a 2 year out of pocket agreement , and I couldn't guarantee that.

The rooms were not cleaned when they were supposed to be and laundry was not done on time either, lots of missing clothes. The staff are friendly but not helpful. When it comes to the care services, sadly not what a memory care person needs. The meals were nice and timely, mom would miss some of them because nobody would get her to the dining area. Mom enjoyed them when they had them. They do need more activities. Mom is not with New Perspective anymore, we had to move her because she was not getting enough to eat, she lost weight there because of the previously stated reasons. New Perspective seems to have trouble with staffing, keeping people and communication. Lots of disconnect between management and staff.

My parents have been there [time frame removed]. People are friendly, they've made great friendships and they love the facility. In our experience, not always have things been as we were told and oftentimes, they wait longer than one should to have maintenance requests and needs within the apartment addressed. I do believe things have gotten better which I'm grateful for. In all fairness, I realize everyone's experience varies.

Nursing care was good, staff was friendly, meals were good, but not allowing my husband to use a power wheelchair was severely limiting for him, and OT and PT care was minimal, and did not meet his needs.

I would recommend we liked the apartment setting, staff was nice doing best they could with low staff to client ratio, I would alert that advertisement of activities was lacking in my opinion.

It's overall good. But expensive. However, my mom is in memory care. They do not offer elderly care waiver. She has been there a few years and looks like her money will run out in a couple more years.

New Perspective Eagan is nice and talking one on one with the director and staff is good, but follow through isn't the best. They don't communicate well through emails or messages, only through one on one. The meals were great, except my father loved his vegetables and fruit. They had them every day, but not a change of them. The vegetables were the same, day after day. For a person who loved his vegetables, there wasn't enough. I believe that the move in process went smoothly. I know we as a family did updates to the place, such as blinds etc. so it was a better set up for him. We were disappointed in the communication when it wasn't one on one.

Most of the is friendly, but response time is lacking. Housekeeping does a good job. Communication is good. Moving process was very easy. The menu is not designed for people with the most common chronic diseases. Consider feedback from families and residents about the food/menu. I would recommend the facility, but would want people know that it's not perfect.

I like the activities here. Bingo is my favorite; I go on almost all of the outings. The food is getting better, but I still don't like it sometimes. The back and front patio is nice when it is warm.

I like it here; however, I am having other issues. I like the activities here. I have started going out on outings. The food is getting better, I use to not like to eat here. I like that I have my own room and space.

New Perspectives is owned by an out-of-state corporation that runs everything by the bottom line. Food is poor quality. The building is poorly maintained. Batteries run out on call buttons and no one routinely checks. A serious air quality problem could probably be sorted if the ducts were cleaned and filters replaced. We ran air purifiers 24/7 but the problem persisted. We found a nest of bees in the air system. Shower water is barely lukewarm and I doubt it meets minimum state requirements. Routine daily wellness checks are skipped. I regret placing our elderly mother in New Perspectives. There are other places where the value for the cost is much better and quality care is provided.

Staff and facility were very nice. They need a little bit more coverage on the weekends and evenings.

My loved one is a resident at New Perspective and overall the experience has been okay.

The facility is very pet friendly, updated carpeting. They need better food. My loved one thought it was too greasy, fatty and salty.

Friendliness of the staff is getting better although there is a night time aide who's downright mean. She just gets meds and they can barely do that on time. Also call button was an issue hopefully fixed now . Very slow service but dining room people seem friendly. She doesn't really do any but others do Very nice facility and wonderful residents with staff that are doing the best they can to make everyone happy. Some issues remain with help and staffing which we are hoping get resolved. Our Mother's needs are few but if she had more issues it might be a problem

Care givers were for the most part good. Some slept on the job. Some ignored or turned off call lights. For everyone one there. Was a good one. Difficulty with the head nurse. She should Have sent my husband To the hospital two Different times and didn't . Family stepped In and took him. That Is why we moved him

New Perspectives in Sun Prairie has its pluses and minuses. They have a lovely facility and many activities for the non-memory care. The food is generally pretty good and they keep the facility relatively clean. I can’t speak to the regular assisted living but the “Memory Care Assisted Living” lacks trained employees. I would say CNA’s but they informed me that they don’t usually have CNA’s since it’s not a nursing unit. It is “Assisted Living Memory Care” and I use “assisted” lightly since the staff seem oblivious to the residents many of the times. There are several aids who really care but they are rare. There are no supervisors’ offices in the unit so oversight is random. The supervisors do come in the unit several times a day but other than that the staff are on their own with no team leads. There are few regular checks (at least during the day) on my parent and at dinner they are oblivious to the fact that some foods need cut up (like pork chops) and I notice that some don’t eat because of that. They are not cognitively able to communicate those kinds of needs. They do have some activities for Memory Care on Wednesdays and Friday from 9 to 11 and every other Monday. On the remainder of the days, they have nothing to help them pass the time. That’s Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday that there are no activities (maybe on occasion). There are behavior issues as in any Memory care unit but I feel that if they had more activities and staff that engage the residents there would be less behavior issues. Communication with senior staff is almost nonexistent so if you have an issue, you often get no answer unless you can catch them in the hall.

When it comes to the meals and dining service - the food is rarely served hot. An area the community could improve on would be staff retention. Staff retention would help a great deal to make things run smoother.

More communication from the staff, maybe even a weekly "report" would be great. The food and housekeeping has been great!
