New Perspective Senior Living

Takes a while to get things fixed in the apartment. Only one maintenance person at the moment. Should be quick service. Nice and clean community. I get to volunteer and help out a lot.

It was hard for me to adjust to living in a community from living on the farm. We had great help getting things settled upon move in. I am happy living here. There are very friendly people here, staff and residents. They are available to me when I need help.

I have been here almost 4 years. I came from Florida; it was a big undertaking, but I am glad to be closer to my daughter. I love to volunteer and help other residents. I don't want to have to move and I am concerned about cost for the future of senior living. I am independent and I like the fact that if I need help, it is available for me right here.

This is a beautiful well taken care of community. Mom seems to like the food and they offer good portions. She has a nice apartment. They have daily activities and a hair salon on site. She likes most of the staff, however I think there is some turnover with the caregivers. They did a great job accommodating us and I would recommend this community.

This community was very nice. We really enjoyed the place. The staff was very helpful and they answered all of our questions. The place was clean and neat. We just did not want mom to be so far.

When arrived to tour the New Perspective Senior Living | West Bend, the tour guide was prepared and gave us a lot of information. We did not choose this community because it was more independent living than what we were looking for.

Everything went well on the tour here. They were very helpful and they had a great community. I did see the other residents out and interacting with each other. However, I did not feel like this would be a good fit for mom.

I thought this community looked great. The people I met during the tour were nice. The community seemed relatively clean. The rooms looked nice.

The staff I met during my tour were nice. This community was clean and well taken care of. I liked this community.

The food needs to be upgraded. Some meals are not hot when served. We need a good chef in the kitchen to improve the menu and also to supervise employees. People are very friendly and helpful. Response time is not always good. Some areas need to be updated. The activity director is great!

I believe there should be more stimulating activities for the residents at Sunrise of Golden Valley. I have not eaten here but they have recently hired a new chef and according to my cousin the food has improved. The staff are excellent and very helpful. The nursing is good other than there can be slow response.

We are trying to work through any issues at Sunrise of Golden Valley. They do seem to have a staff shortage. But that seems like the case at any of these facilities. They do have plenty of activities here but we have not gotten him to participate in any yet. For the most part things have gone really well here.

One thing I do feel that they could do to improve would be in regards to staffing. My husband needs a lot of help and they do seem at times to be a bit understaffed to fulfill the needs. I really like the staff there. They are really nice and friendly and eager to do anything they can to help. It is expensive, but in line with other places that are out there, and I know that my husband is receiving good care so it is worth it.

Our stay here didn't last as long as I would have hoped. I don't think this was the right fit for us. My loved one was falling. There were people around a couple of times, and it's hard to say if more could have been done. They weren't exactly proactive in their approach. I liked the atmosphere here, and I think the food was fine. I think the training for their weekend staff was a little weak.

It's turning out to be more expensive than we thought it would be. We thought it was going to be a little bit more secure. Just to add security it will cost more money. I thought someone was going to be outside the door but there isn't. she does need to be away from the door. Memory unit. She is a very private person before memory care. They are very clean. They have done a good job. Everyone is friendly, don't get me wrong. It's a nice facility, we chose it because we thought we was a nice community. But it ended up being more expensive. they do take elder care.

The thing I like best is that they have gotten my mother out into some activities. You can definitely see a change for the better; my mother is out walking around and doing better. The location is perfect for us; it's nearby and convenient. The only thing not convenient is that they don't have good parking. I've been happy with her care; they take very good care of her. The staff are very responsive. When I have a question or concern, they listen, and they respond pretty well. The thing I most don't like is that when my mother moved into her room, the bathroom smelled of urine, and still does.

We had a chance to visit the Sunrise of Roseville and found it to bigger that what we were looking for , it had a more corporate feel to it. We likeed all the ammenities that it provided as well as the cleanliness that had on the inside & outside on the grounds.

It seemed too small and confined. I didn't like the layout as much. The Sunrise was clean but I didn't like that it was a smaller facility. I know they had elevators to the place where my mother would have been staying and a really cool patio and outside area. It was bright and cheery too. I just know my mother would have been to claustrophobic there.

We chose Keystone because they were offering great deals on move in and the community is just beautiful. Unfortunately we were in a desperate situation and chose to move in before truly looking into it. We were in a bad situation and needed a place for my loved one right away due to legal issues. Our loved one is currently not in Keystone anymore. We just didn’t feel there were prepared for memory care. Our loved one was put into the same dementia patients with a more advanced case, so our loved one was more active then most and seemed like he was just sitting around with no socialization at all. They only have one common area for the memory care where they sit and watch TV, but it is too small for all the residents to sit and enjoy, it is filled up with residents in wheelchairs. They are currently building a patio so that the residents can hang out there as well but it still hasn’t been finished. We feel like the staff just needs some more training on dealing with dementia patients. They should try to make it less confusing no more by moving residents to multiple rooms in a short amount of time. The memory care unit is locked but really feels like they are confined.

New Perspectives Senior Living is a welcoming and friendly place for residents. However, it’s important to carefully review all the details regarding eligibility for assisted living and the criteria for transitioning to independent living. Some changes in the loved ones health affected the situation, though in hindsight, we likely could have avoided some confusion by reviewing the terms more thoroughly.
