New Perspective Senior Living

Everyone is very helpful with questions. The only suggestions I might consider implementing would be a "new resident guide". It's been quite the process getting mom acclimated to the places/people/activities without one. We're relatively new to the system and I'm still figuring out the day-to-day while helping mom as much as I can. It's been challenging, it would have been nice to have a packet or something of contacts, events, processes, etc. - a New Resident Guide. Something informational for residents and their families. Overall, we're very pleased with everything New Perspective has to offer, and the people have been top-notch.

We started my Uncle out in an assisted living apartment but found that he was not adjusting well. He has since been moved to a memory care unit where he seems to be doing better but he is not happy that he is not at home. He hasn't been very cooperative in joining in on activities but he seems to like the food and in general the staff although he complains when they are talking in Spanish or Somali because they are too loud. We have also been having issues with getting him a phone line set up. Century Link says it works on their end but not at his apartment. We are still trying to figure that out. One issue that I have is that at times it has been difficult to find a staff member if we need assistance and if we have questions. They seem a bit short staffed. I know this is prevalent wherever you go.

The staff are friendly and helpful, although they are stretched thin like all other facilities. If your loved one is not extremely independent I highly recommend being closely involved in their care.

So far, this has been a good move for us. Admin, staff, and residents have been very welcoming. They offered us a program that has helped reduce our rent to a more comfortable amount. We have moved in as independent living with a age in place plan. We will be able to stay in our apartment and as my husband advances in Alzheimer's, we are able to access assisted living services and memory care if and when needed. We are not on meal plan at this point, but have gotten mixed reviews on meals from residents. We attended holiday party with appetizers that were very good. It has been a very positive experience during our first month here.

Large, cabin feeling facility. Felt like hotel with long dark hallways. Not very ‘homey’. Beautiful apartments aimed at more independent residents. Memory care was more intimate, still felt dark. Staff very friendly and engaging. Level of residents more like nursing home. As for our family member, it is not a good fit. It was too large, either not enough supervision/interaction/direction with staff or nursing home level care. Our family member is currently in between these two pendulums. The tour was nice and gave a nice perspective of what’s available.

I really appreciate there is someone making home good food for my mom and watching over to make sure she doesn't choke. Her room is kept nice we really appreciate that. We all like that it's a small place cottage. We're all wishing you could put a little kind pressure on her too get her hair washed and stuff. Mom says no... But she will cave with some nice steady pressure. We are really appreciate that she's safe and well cared for. Really appreciate that she gets out into the common room with the other people. We thank you for your care

We feel so happy that our brother is in a safe place where he can get help when he needs it. Everyone is friendly & helpful.

Trevor gave us a great overview of life at New Perspectives in Faribault. We toured the 2 available rooms and saw the dining areas and activity rooms. We talked about the cost and guidelines of living there- we were given printed materials to take with us.

Great environment and cozy homey feel. We like the friendly staff and they genuinely try to get to know each resident. I would recommend them to others who are searching for a place for their loved one.

We are very pleased, so far with New Perspective, Rosedale. My mother is engaged, comfortable, and really enjoys all of the activities. Yes, I would recommend it to others

The sales rep gave me a good overview of the facility, took me on a tour of the memory care area and answered my many questions. She explained how the elderly waiver works and discussed my financial issues. She promptly answered my calls a few days later.

What I like the most about the community is the cleanliness, however no, I wouldn't recommend. Perhaps with the new management change that I believe happened a couple months ago, it is now better but poor quality of care and lack of activities would prevent me from endorsing it as a place to go. All else, was, as I wrote, about a level 4 on the scale.

My mother has lived at this community through a lot of changes. No place is perfect but the community is really turning a corner. They have more staff, caring Leaders, and someone available to kindly greet you or answer your questions. No place can have it all, but the recent changes and new faces have given us confidence.

I can't think of any improvements off the top of my head. Yes, I would recommend New Perspective Silvis to other families based on the experience so far.

My Sister doesn't like a lot of the food choices and complains about how the staff is slow to respond and often can't assist her. Lots of great activities offered.

The Winds was nice, but the families have to be aware that it is assisted living, not equipped to handle more than that. My husband was not able to handle the change. The problem I had was them not being honest about taking him back from the hospital.

Staff here is wonderful, they always seem happy and very helpful. There seems to be something going on everyday through the weekdays but things seem to go to your own resources on the weekends. There are a lot of people on the food program and seem to be happy with it. We do our own cooking in our apartment.

The good: clean, safe, great amenities, very friendly and caring staff. The bad: perpetually short staffed, some complaints about food. All things considered - a good place for my mom.

One thing that we really liked was that the facility was Sun filled , light and open. Residents could walk out front or in the back patio. The food staff was great . Very friendly and receptive to the Residents. One thing that bothered me was that they sat in the same places everyday. Would of been nice to meet other Residents . I know they tried to get activities going and were working on a new activities director. The staff seemed happy.
