This community just seemed like a lot of people outside and seemed to be just alone with no stimulation.

I would tell others not to go here. The administration doesn't follow through on what they tell you the during tour. Their communication with the family and resident could be improved on. There was trouble with medication for my loved one and it took a couple months to straighten out.

The Directors of this community is not personable. The change workers as often as one would change their shoes. Why?? Most of workers are not interested in the residents. Prices increase but services do not get better this community has not always been this way. Yes it looks good but.

I would tell others that my mom has got severe Alzheimers, but she is not in memory care. So every week for 5 weeks I went in on a Sunday to find her wearing soiled briefs. I have complained and I would still go in there and find her to be that way. They were not keeping her clean or taking good care of her. The communication has not been good and they do not respond in a timely manner when I reach out about issues. But the director has been responsive and things have improved a little bit. We have not been very happy with our experience here.

We did a virtual tour of Pinewood Place and I was not impressed. It was a very dark and depressing atmosphere. I also found it to be more expensive than others that we looked at.

We actually the took our loved one out of the community because she was not receiving the care she needed. She constantly got UTI infections, and had to go to the emergency room. They pretty much kept her to her room and down in her bed with the medicines she was taking. We do not think they checked on her as much as they said they would, and there was also a constant change in staff.

Nice building but high staff turnover, staffing agency is used so residents have different caregivers every day who are just there for the paycheck. Our loved one was left alone most days, sometimes wearing other people's clothing, dirty stained clothing, and some personal items went missing. Definitely not worth the high price.

I would tell my friends not to do it. When I first moved my loved one there, everyone was sweet and happy. Once I signed him in, the whole experience changed. My loved one's room wasn't clean. I ended up moving my loved one out. It's not worth putting a loved one in Northstar Place. When the previous director was there, it was a completely different place.

I would explain the community concept to people. The residents can go anywhere. The residents go in to another residents, common areas, and rooms. Unless a specific resident locks the door, and the community is ok with. The community won't let anyone just lock the door, and they have a key to the resident's rooms if needed to enter. The food is good on some days, overall it is the middle of the road. The room is basic and similar to a hotel room. The community comes in and clean. They have to lock the toiletries up, since residents will go in and take theses out of other resident's room. If a resident needs items the resident must ask for the cabinet to be unlocked. The residents are mostly in the common areas, but they are allowed to roam if they want to. The community encourages residents to roam, and to get out of their room.

They were going through a much needed management change, we were there at the wrong time. The staff did not respond to call button calls, sometimes it would take them an hour, it was supposed to take the 5-10 minutes. They spent more time cleaning than they did with their residents. I did see they had several group activities at times.

Overall adequate care. Exceptionally nice atmosphere and decor. Southern Style cooking. Some problems with belongings being gone. Recommend belongings be name labeled.

Not interested, memory care unit old outdated.

Very friendly staff who go out their way to make you feel welcomed and comfortable! The place is clean and pleasant smelling. Keowee Place is a Beautiful Facility

WHEN I PLACED MY DADDY THERE IN JUNE OF 2017 I WAS PLEASED.IM VERY DISSAPOINTED NOW.THEY ARE NOT CHANGING MY DADS DIAPERS.THEY ARE LETTING HIM LAY IN MESS AND PEE.THEY ARE NOT BATHING HIM LIKE THEY SAY.I CUT HIS HAIR,BEARD,TOENAILS,AND FINGERNAILS.ITS NO GOOD TO TELL ANYONE EITHER.YOU GET THE SAME STORY FROM THEM ALL.I WOULD NEVER TELL ANYONE TO PLACE THERE LOVE ONE THERE.AND IF U HAVE SOMEONE THERE U BETTER CK ON THEM REGULAR AND AT DIFFERENT TIMES.SEE HOW UR LOVE ONE IS BEING TAKEN CARE OF.

I wasn't impressed. It was very big, noisy, and impersonal. The person I met with had to look up basic info, such as costs, which should have already been done, since I had a scheduled appointment. They don't have a current available room, anyway, but I wouldn't consider it if so due to its size and more remote location.

We did not like the this community at all. The smell was bad of urine and disinfectant. The staff was cordial enough to us, but that did not make up for the cleanliness. The rooms also looked like a small closet in a hotel room. It just was not a good fit.

The staff seemed like they had great care to offer the residents, however the complex seemed very depressing. It is not a place where I would want my loved one to be living.

My father was in this community and i was not very happy with the care he was receiving. The staff would not pay attention to him. There was a lack of communication with the community's side. They offer activities but my father was not able to participate. The community is clean and very nice itself.

Overall I was not impressed with this facilty.It felt very much like a nursing home as opposed to assisted living. The director was very friendly and informative, but the rest off the staff seemed to be aloof. As we walked down one of the residence hallways there was a very strong odor of feces coming from a resident's room and in the time we were there no staff came to assist her. The main areas were clean, but the newly remodeled rooms did not appear to be much nicer than the non remodeled room. I will not be bringing my mother for a tour and will not consider placing her at this location.

To early to rate, been only 5 weeks but have had issues that are still pending. 2 stars so far.
