We chose Colonial Gardens because ratings were better and it is a smaller facility that is specialized for dementia care. The room sizes here are good, they have private rooms and shared rooms available as well as bigger ones so they have options to choose from. I think that the administrative staff could improve on communication, it is a big problem when it comes to any changes going on and they have dropped the ball a few times. Overall I would recommend to others looking.

They do have plenty of activities going on on the inside of the community, but they have yet to take the residents out and about. We are very happy with the value for cost right now. What our deciding factors were the care, it seemed like a lot of other communities offered levels of care a la cart, and this community does it all together. If you need to have more care, they just bump you up to the next level. We also just really like the people there.

It was difficult for us at first because of covid and not being able to go inside and visit. We chose Legacy at Southpointe Drive because of the proximity of the facility to family members. I have only been in her room, but it is very big and spacious. I would recommend them to others looking.

I think they need to be upheld on their word a little but more, but we are working on that to strive for better. We understand that there has been a position change and we know that it'll take a little time to implement. The meals here are great, it has not been a complaint for mom and dad. We have noticed a great improvement in my dad especially since being here and my mom is making friends. The activities are great, that is what they needed was that interaction. The staff members have been exceptional and I would recommend to others looking.

The tour that we took of Mallard Ridge was ok but I was not pleased at all with the facility. It was very outdated.

My best advice is to wait until after the pandemic is over to do a full tour, if possible. My loved one was there only for eight hours due to medical complications. The staff was great to work with during the tour and experience.

The cleanliness of the community has been great, and the care services have been really good. The activities are still limited due to the restrictions, and we do think the value is very good. The only negative we have experienced is with the communication, sometimes it is hard to get a hold of someone. We do know covid has impacted this but sometimes our calls get discounted or hung up on. However with that being said we still have had really amazing positive experiences, the employees have gone out of their way to assist us whenever needed.

The food is very good and surprisingly given this past year they are still very good. We get pictures constantly of them doing things outside so we are very happy about that. The value is very good, and in the beginning the overall feeling of the environment and the staff really stood out of to us. The cleanliness of the community also stood out to us however there is never anyone at the receptionist desk to answers calls.

The staff members have been extremely accommodating and I have been very happy with that. The situation has been made difficult by covid and due to the fact that I am out of state. Communication is critical and that has been very good, the move in coordinator has been wonderful as far as that goes. They have done a wonderful job letting me know what is going on and they were very prompt in letting me know when he needed to be transported to the hospital and responded in a positive way in getting him services he needed. They do have a good nursing staff and a physical therapy department, All of their residents are vaccinated and they have not had any severe outbreaks, so they have been good with keeping things under control. I would absolutely recommend them to others who are looking.

The staff was been very helpful and educated us on the community. communication between the staff and the family has been very good. They have kept us well informed. I would recommend this community to others.

They are really are not open to feedback. I have had a few issues that we have discussed and it has taken 4 months for any progress on these issues. Communication is good between the staff and the family. They keep us updated on covid and informed about our loved one. I would recommend this community to others

They seem to be on top of the covid situation. They were very quick to schedule vaccinations for the residents. They also seem to be on top of medical attention for the residents as well. I am having a terrible time getting a hold of staff members, especially the care managers. They have not been good with communication at all. I would recommend anyone considering this location to have an in depth talk with them about communication and what you expect. They are unwilling to talk about changes (downgrades specifically) over care level, and I am quite unhappy about that.

It has been the best experience we have ever had. Overall they have done well, with their response to COVID. The communication is amazing and have kept us updated with their restrictions. The staff is extremely friendly., The response by the staff has been immediate response to any question or concern we have with my loved one.

I would tell others to go talk with the community. Due to the pandemic, the community I feel can take a little less care of the residents than normal.

A very well done Zoom tour...answered my questions, very homey atmosphere, provides my husband needs; appropriate size facility for him I believe and if there are negatives my search on their site and other inquiries did not divulge them. We are in the process of trying to close on this choice.

The activities director can be a little abrupt on the phone. I feel I'm paying too much for the care my loved one is receiving. The activities include bingo and movies in the morning. I feel they should have the residents move more for the activities.

My mom moved into Northstar at the end of November of 2020. She loves her apartment that she chose. She has birdfeeders just outside her windows and so enjoys the antics that the birds get into each day. This has been a great comfort for her since she is in her room most of the time. She also has told me that the food they serve her is good. Being that we are all going through covid-19 issues, it's been hard for her to be away from her family and friends. She is lonely and that's hard for me as her daughter to hear. When she is allowed she walks out back on the paths which she enjoys. She has spoken to me about the back area needing some TLC. I hope when covid is over this can be addressed . The staff are very nice and accommodating to the needs of our family as well as my mom. I look forward to when "normalcy" can return, so my mom, our family and all the staff can get on with life. My mom can then really experience the full potential of life at Northstar.

the was an issue with the dietary need with my father's food. the staff was nice, and it was a good facility. I would recommend this community to others.
