So far, sorta good. I say him yesterday and he's a lot better than I've seen him in a long time after they straightened out his medications. There seems to be just enough to keep him busy, there is a piano, so long as he has a piano somewhere that he can get to once in a while. I went to a support group there yesterday and a woman who was coming in to visit someone plays the flute so she played with him and he had a good time with that. He seemed more talkative than he had been in a long time and I could understand him. I had visited it before, it seemed pretty nice to me and it was closer to home. It's spotless, very good, they had a dinner a few weeks ago for anybody who wanted to attend and it certainly wasn't as elegant, but it was very very nice. It gave us an opportunity to meet with the nurses and the staff

Things went well when we put her in for assisted living, but the only thing we've come up against, which nobody told us is we had already had her signed up and everything, my brother in law is power of attorney over her finances, and they told us there was a $3000 non refundable community fee, she was adding it non chalantly like everybody knew about it and they just looked at each other and said they thought the other person told us about it. Everything else has been pretty good, my brother in law says they get your money and then they don't care about nothing and they don't give us attention like when we first went. I know she's satisfied there, she says she likes it and more people come to see her there, she used to say negative things to my husband and she doesnt say things like that now.

Considering the situation they're working with and the type of residents they're working with there's not much more activities they can do, so they're doing the best they can. Compared to the other palces I looked at, I thought they were more of a home situation instead of an institution.

We liked Manning House very much. It had a beautiful outside location which we thought my mother in law would like but it was more money than the rest of the ones we were looking at. We were trying to look for a place where she could stay long term but other than the price point, it seemed very pretty, we loved the location, we loved the place.

My mom has been living at Morningside for about six years. The staff has been great to her and the place itself wonderful! She's able to visit any of the other residents, talk with staff members or simply be alone if she'd rather do that. They have visiting church members come out and have service there, usually once a week, bingo, get their hair done and other activities. The staff will call a family member if they feel it's needed. They have three meals served daily.

I really liked Morningside but my mom picked another place. I was really impressed with them and I though that would have been a good place for my mother.

I chose this community for my mom because the staff really pays attention to the residents. They truly go out of the way to make the residents feel comfortable, wanted and cared for. They do have a library on site but could use more variety, currently have lots of readers digest type books. When I visit I don't see a lot of activities going on that are more stimulating then bingo, they could use a little more creativity with activities. They could get the residents a little more engaged in the activities. The location of this community was really good for my mother because she had been living in the area for over 50 years so she really feels comfortable in this community and has lots of support.

They have a friendly people that really seem to care and take interest in the residents. The grounds are maintained and have plenty of shade, the food is good I liked it when I ate their as a guest. I just overall refreshing.

The med techs and staff are thoughtful and professional. I found the administration slow to respond on a few items. They offer several room types. If you prefer one over the room available when you move in, you are placed in a waiting list when the room type you want comes available. overall I recommend the facility. Plus Mom is happy!

Feedback: the staff, cleanliness is ok. Food flexibility is ok. I suppose the choices could improve. But my parent may just be a picky eater. Activities may need to increase and residents get fresh air.

It's a nice place not to big. They treat people nice. Like anything there going to be some things come up. No place is perfect.

My uncle [name removed] never truly had a chance to adjust too North Lake House and settle in. He has passed on since we put him in there. He was placed in North Lake House around the New Year and passed away in early April. He was in and out of the hospital so much during that time period I just don't think he ever really got settled in there. That was not North Lake House's fault, it was just the way the cards were dealt.

The care staff have been very good with Peggy. Have had trouble getting feedback from administration a bed issue. Made first contact on [Date Removed]. Took 3 or 4 contacts before we heard anything back, which was several weeks. Still have not heard anything after their first call back now going on 8 weeks since my original contact in May 16. Issue still not resolved. Don't know if you're aware, they were bought by Navion.

The tour was fantastic. The facility’s layout provides for the outdoor courtyard which is a huge plus in my book. There were plenty of staff, all interacting with residents with genuine care and compassion. It is an all memory care facility so there is a variety of stages with the residents. Overall great tour and information provided.

[name removed] was kind and informative The tour was very good. We walked around and saw a lot of the property and the community and it felt like a very comfortable place. I would say it was rated probably first out of the properties that I visited that day, which was three I highly recommend another visit there and if we do not settle in a place in Virginia, this is probably where I will place my mom.

It was personable. What part of the facility I toured was clean and inviting. As for placing my family member here would be based on assessment of his health and mental condition their care team finds with their own contact information with Nursing/Rehab facility.

I can only comment on the initial application process but not much more because my Dad was only there one night and they had to call 911 for him because he was having difficulty breathing. He ended up in hospital with pneumonia and heart failure and then went to hospice where he passed away. I was however happy with the application process and the tour, move in etc. it is a smaller facility so I felt it would be a good fit for my dad as his mobility was a problem. The nurse was very good, answered all my questions and went all the way to the rehab facility to assess him (which was all the way downtown). I visited them early on during my search and got a good homey feeling. They don't have all the amenities that some of the other places have like multiple dining rooms, gym, theater etc. but for my dad's particular circumstances I think it would have been a good fit. It definitely felt like a family environment and the staff were all great and seemed like they were very happy working there. They were very flexible with the move in and they were also very supportive to me as his caregiver. I am sorry he didn't get to live there.

It's a very comfortable calm place to be and regular staff tries to be helpful. Communication regarding medical needs has been slow but has been good once the issue was addressed. It takes a while to change from primary medical care to Assisted Living care. Communication between specialists and the facility regarding labs was frustrating because the information doesn't transfer automatically between facilities- no My Chart. My overall experience is good and mom is treated with kindness and respect in a very pleasant manner. Food is moderately good but not quite as good as I hoped. There are choices but mom picks basic. Mom likes it because it's not so big and there are special events plus daily am and afternoon activities.

They have a clean, nice facility staffed with caring people. The room size was fine. My wife was there for 9 days before I brought her back home. I spent 4-5 hours a day there with her during that time, so I got to observe quite a bit. For the residents whose dementia was mildest and didn't require that much one to one supervision it was probably near perfect. My wife was just the opposite and needed very close supervision, and there was just not enough staff for that.

The location of this facility is wonderful. All of the staff have been extremely friendly and caring.
