The food servers were wonderful and paid close attention to what Mom could chew and what she loved to eat. The activities were wonderful, I just wish Mom had been able to enjoy more of them. There were wonderful caregivers and then some not so wonderful, pretty much like any other assisted living. The wonderful ones way out weighed the not so wonderful ones.

The staff has been so caring. Everyone, from the director to the housekeeping staff are consistently kind and friendly with each resident. They recently hired a new activity director, so I'm hoping that part of the program improves. The only area that could still use attention is the food. It's okay but could be better.

The facility is very well done and the little one bedroom apartment my aunt and uncle are in is very nice and spacious enough for both wheelchairs. Unfortunately I cannot comment on the activities as they will not participate, which disappoints me. They said the food is good but not a lot of variety. The front desk is very pleasant and helpful,

4+. Very happy with Truewood. Staff are amazing, friendly, helpful and caring. Lots of activities, although my brother does not join in. He has serve hearing loss. The residence is kept up, very clean and nicely decorated. Over all I'm very happy he's there.

My Mom loved the food for the most part. She thought Morningstar was a pretty place and she liked looking at the fresh flowers that were near the dining area. Her care team really strived to make her happy and well cared for. Although her time was too short at Morningstar, we became attached to several of the employees who went above and beyond in their care for her. When I interviewed for her to go there, I was told the residents have a button to push when they need assistance. Since my Mom was placed in memory care because of elderly dementia (not Alzheimer’s) they did not have these buttons to push for assistance. Her mobility was quite bad. Since she was not incontinent she required assistance to get into the bathroom. She would yell out for help for someone to come assist her. That is what they told her to do was to yell out. Often they did not hear her pleas so she would try to get to the bathroom on her own. She ended up fracturing her ankle, went into hospice, passed

I think MorningStar at Jordan Creek is a very friendly facility. As far as the food goes, I think they could improve on the eye appeal, the taste, and make sure to serve meals hot.

As with all the Assisted Care and Memory Care facilities I saw, they are understaffed and more than likely under paid. Way expensive and feel sorry for those that cannot afford these facilities. They could make a better effort to serve quality nourishing food and offer more activities that stimulate.

Transportation to medical appointments is very good. MorningStar offers "bus" (actually a van w/wheelchair accommodation) trips for groceries (Walmart, Fred Meyer's every week; WinCo, Trader Joe's, Albertsons once a month), general shopping (Towne Square Mall, Kohl's, thrift stores, etc.), lunches and dinners out (you pay), Meridian symphony concerts, plus other places and activities for which there is enough interest. The Life Enrichment staff (3 full-time people) are very active. There are exercise classes in the fitness room; however, gym equipment is pretty limited. Movies are shown every day, usually twice a day. There is live entertainment, often music, two or three times a week.

One of the things that stands out is residents seem quite happy, and employees as well. Room for improvements - Clean the hallway carpets more often. And, spray off the front sitting/patio area with a hose or power washer. This feedback is anonymous, correct? I would definitely recommend Morning Star!! Overall, it is a lovely place.

I would not recommend them because the workers are fun but management not so. [name removed] actually escaped from the facility and they had no camera footage showing how she got out.

Clean, friendly, good health services and staff. Restaurant staff need training with table bussing. Communication about monthly events could be improved. Overall a good value.

Morningstar is a charming friendly facility that fits the needs in my family members. The staff are friendly and careful to attend to the needs of the residents. When I need additional care, Morningstar will be the first place on my list to consider.

A Place for Mom helped me find this location for my sister-in-law, who needed to leave her house in Boulder City, NV. She has been very happy there, although she was not happy with the change of staff, after she got there.

My father lived in the independent living casita. It was quite expensive when he wasn't taking advantage of the meals (feeding tube) and activities (got too ill to attend). That said, it's a nice place with nice people.

This was a major move for me but staff has been very helpful and other residents are friendly and welcoming. The estate is beautiful, grounds maintained to perfection. Lots of lovely walking areas. Various helpers I have hired tell me this is their favorite senior living place to work

I would advise you watch and determine the facility and staff and do not rely on reports of their loved ones. Staff is conscientious, caring and professional. Facility is clean, nurturing and well equipped. It must always be remembered those clients in residence are confused, scared and/or feel abandoned to strangers. It is highly unlikely the loved's report, though the truth in their opinion, is accurate and unbiased.

The main reason I moved my mom was MorningStar doesn't accept Title 19 if it should become necessary. I feel she will be financially okay for the next few years but no one knows how long she has -so I didn't want to wait till it was a necessity that she had to move. As far as the food - I know everyone was told they could ordered anything they wanted, but I had lunch several times with mom and what I seen was everyone getting the daily special, not a lot of seasoning or taste to the meals.

I would say overall, they are nice I'm not really pleased with how they clean my mother-in-law's place and I have to be on top of them about that. And there is high turnover, which I understand in that field there would be but overall I do feel comfortable and I feel that she safe and we have made some good contacts so that I have others that watch out for her although we do go pretty much a daily.

The whole facility, including all the common areas, is quite clean and always smells good. My mom gave it a 4 only because the cleaning people seem to ignore my Dad's floor in his room.) My dad requires a lot of extra care due to his left side paralysis from the stroke. For this reason, someone with such extreme loss of autonomy might do better in a facility where they have a higher level of care. Having said that, they do pretty darn good. The food is not home cooked and my Dad is used to my mom's exceptional cooking. That's a pretty high standard. Morning Star is impressive. The common areas are wonderful. The entertainment and activities are wonderful. They take care to decorate for all the holidays extravagantly. And, the location of MorningStar is outstanding. Fountain Hills has all kinds of fun to be had within walking distance or, if you're in a wheelchair, within pushing distance: excellent restaurants, all kinds of festivals and parades, and the beautiful park with all its amenities.
