The main reason I moved my mom was MorningStar doesn't accept Title 19 if it should become necessary. I feel she will be financially okay for the next few years but no one knows how long she has -so I didn't want to wait till it was a necessity that she had to move. As far as the food - I know everyone was told they could ordered anything they wanted, but I had lunch several times with mom and what I seen was everyone getting the daily special, not a lot of seasoning or taste to the meals.

I would say overall, they are nice I'm not really pleased with how they clean my mother-in-law's place and I have to be on top of them about that. And there is high turnover, which I understand in that field there would be but overall I do feel comfortable and I feel that she safe and we have made some good contacts so that I have others that watch out for her although we do go pretty much a daily.

When it comes to the cleanliness, they had a bad case of bedbugs happened the weekend we moved in and it took months to deal with it. But once that was over I'd say. They've raised their rates by a lot! And there's lots of nickeling and diming. However, I would recommend this community to other families based on the experience we have had.

My mom is safe, fed, and cared for. She went 5 weeks without any sheets on her bed.

We brought in Hospice to increase his care. He has dementia and does not attend many activities. We are fortunate to be able to afford the cost. That being said it is a nice safe place for him. We have had dad there one and a half years and have already witnessed approximately a 10 percent increase in normal costs. His care costs have increased because of the need the other increases I guess are just a sign of the times. Everything is getting more expensive.

We really enjoy living in a Casita with an attached garage. It is very roomy and accommodates wheelchairs and walkers very well.

There were a few instances where the cleaners weren't changing the sheets each week like they say they do. And I'm really not happy that they discontinued the laundry service for the independent side. The quality of the food is excellent, but service can be very slow some days. Faculty and staff have all been very friendly and helpful

It is a smaller facility, which my Dad likes. He knows everyone there. The food is not the greatest and he complains about it. The staff is always very nice and friendly. We have had a few problems with the Caregivers. There's been a couple that were not very nice, but once talked to have been better. Housekeeping is great. It is always clean. Communication with the family is fine, but could be better. The move in process was so nice. They came and picked up my Dad's things and moved them in for us. This was included in the cost. It was a very stressful time, so that helped a lot. I would recommend others to go here. I think as a family member you need to stay involved and know what is going on.

This place has been under renovation. They are still working on the kitchen but all new furniture. My first two weeks were not great. Non existent orientation. Things have improved. I take Gene on Fridays to the main building for music. He seems mostly content. Very few residents can communicate in the lock down area which is sad. In my mind the small house was very mediocre. I would not be happy going there to visit him. The room they showed me had no private bath and it was the same price. Probably they focus on Medicaid. Did not look at other places. It is a quick trip for me to Morningstar. His room is very nice.

They just increased monthly 10k a month for memory care. They do have church and communion. They sit and watch TV in the main room most of the time. Have difficulty getting her compression socks. Employee turnover seems high. But the people I regularly see are kind.

MorningStar is a beautiful facility with a capable and responsive staff. The memory care (called the "Reflections Community") rooms are extremely nice compared to those I saw in other facilities. Everything is modern and there is a lot of natural light because of the large windows. Each room has its own full-size refrigerator with a freezer, which is very convenient and helpful. The food is very good with a nice variety, and residents can choose from the menu ahead of time if they don't like the regularly offered meals for the day. Memory care residents would benefit with more help in selecting a menu for the day, and from a slightly revised process for "opting out" of the regular meals and choosing their food for the day. The move in process was good, but it could have been improved with a more robust orientation process and a dedicated staff person that would touch base regularly with the resident and family throughout the first two weeks. Resident care has been very good, but some things (i.e., showers) haven't always taken place on the assigned days because of staffing or other issues. That being said, memory care residents are a particularly challenging population, and I have been impressed with the caring staff and the overall environment of the "Reflections Community" at MorningStar, which after two months still feels very welcoming and friendly. I am grateful that my dad has such a safe and comfortable place to live at MorningStar. I would definitely recommend MorningStar at Laurelhurst.

They are friendly. Place was clean and the activities were great. They decorated the place for every holiday and special day. I wish that they would have gotten them outside for outdoor activities more often. I never saw this during her time there.

Food is cold waiting forever for service. Sitting for 30 min to get served and watching other people wait to get a server. The food should should be included as a level of service and is not to the standard.

My dad entered memory care at Morning Star in 2023. Either my mom or I was with him daily. So we spent many hours there. Morning Star is a beautiful facility. It looks clean and smells clean. However, it doesn't appear they have enough staff for all of the people in memory care. Because we were always there, we made sure my dad had what he needed. Many people don't have visitors and it seems they can be put in front of the tv very easily. The regular staff is amazing. [names removed] are angels. But weekends are short handed and nurses were often on staff that we didn't know. Generally they do a wonderful job, but there are certainly stand out people working there. Like any senior center, I'd recommend that you show up for your loved one because things can be overlooked. My dad passed away in November of 2023, and I believe he was happy there.

The staff were wonderful towards the end of my mom's life. They gave us lots of hugs & seemed to truly care about my mom & us. There just weren't enough of them (under-staffed in general). And the hospice that we went with was fantastic & worked well with the staff.

My mother in law passed away one day after being there she fell, she never made it to her room she was in a 'spare' room waiting for her room I wasn't impressed at all we go charges a lot for 1 day there we didn't get her meds either when we picked up her stuff

I would certainly recommend the facility to others, as well as your service.

My mom is a resident at MorningStar of Parker and the experience has been good for her. I would recommend this facility to others.

All is well. Even though they changed ownership just a few weeks after the move, all is well and going smoothly. I would recommend this facility to others.

It was an amazing facility. I don't think I can really say anything bad about it, except for they need to have better communication with the aides. I don't feel like some of them were properly trained on basic CNA skills. We had to put a camera in my loved one's room to keep an eye on her and to make sure that the aides did their job. The nurses and the rest of the staff were all friendly and helpful.
