MorningStar Senior Living

Morningstar was one of the nicest communities that I toured. It was as nice as the facility that I eventually selected, but was more a bit more expensive. I did not see anything extra that they offered that my mother would be interested in using, so we went with another community.

My mother is still adjusting and doing fine at the MorningStar. The place is clean and well maintained. I feel that my mother is getting the best care that they can offer. The only thing I am struggling with right now is the administrative side. I have some things I need help with and they are a bit slow in the process, but that could change. Overall I am pleased and it is a positive environment.

After touring many communities we found this to be the best for us. It was the most homey community we saw. My in-laws wanted a more intimate environment. We like all they do for my in-laws and they are happy with the community, It worked out best for all of our need and they are doing very good.

11 years and counting we have had a family member living at Garden Court. The staff is excellent and willing to help fill needs to everyday living. We thank you.

I think they do an excellent job overall at Siena Hills, my loved one lived here for a few years. The staff here is friendly and professional, and the facility itself is nice looking, clean, and well kept. However, Siena Hills is very expensive. While the care and service they provide is very good, I don't know that it quite matches the price.

What an amazing place. Everyone came to introduce themselves on the day my mother moved in. They have all been so helpful and pleasant. We are very pleased we chose Siena Hills.

After interviewing thirteen retirement homes in December, we moved into Garden Court on February 1. Garden Court has met all our expectations plus a little more. They do a great job.

Parker Assisted Living by Morningstar was a wonderful facility for my Mom. She had been living in my home until she had a series of falls that required 6 weeks of rehab. She was not able to regain enough ability for me to continue to care for her at home, Parker Assisted Living was the perfect solution for her and our family. The staff is a wonderful collection of people who value our seniors. A Place for Mom was a tremendous help in helping us choose just the right care for my Mom. Donna, the Senior Advisor, helped me "keep my own wings level" as I went through the overwhelming process of finding just the right place for my Mom's care.

We visited about four communities in the Henderson NV area before we decided on this location. It was a hard decision, which became easier and easier with our experiences over time. The staff is wonderful. Their caring and friendliness is genuine. The staff presence is noticeable, which I really appreciate. The residents are independent but guidance and encouragement is available. My Mother was very decisive in what she wanted in her new home and April Fillingim was right there to make sure it happened. I also appreciate Rosa Jenkins and her medical supervision. I have trusted this community to care for my Mother and that is a very important task. I am thankful that I found this location and the people who work there.

I liked them but I did not take my dad to see them because I was afraid he would get lost there. It was a really big place. It's a very active community and the had really good arts and crafts programs there but I didn't think my dad would be able to negotiate the building. That was the only reason I didn't take him there. The place was clean and everyone seemed happy. I couldn't see any reason not to recommend this place.

This was our second choice. It was quite nice. The issue is that is was quite a ways a way from where my mother had been living before. Of the five places we visited we narrowed it down to this and one other. It was newer and had a very open, inviting dining room with lots of windows. It had lots of activities. If the Bonaventure Place had been closer we probably would have opted for this one. Location was the main factor in choosing another place. By far, Bonaventure had the best floor plans of any place we visited. They were very open and spacious.

Overall they are pretty excellent, not in every regard but they are getting there. Overall what they offer and provide like the food, the cleanliness of the community, the staff is friendly, respectful, attentive and courteous to residents and guest. They could improve in activities by offering a wider variety. These communities can always improve in the care giver to resident ratio. From what I have observed they currently have about 2 care givers to about 12-15 residents. This can always improve because then the care givers can understand each of the residents and visitor so they are clearer on each individual needs. My opinion towards Parker Assisted Living memory unit is very favorable and we would recommend it to anyone.

The very best part of Morningstar is the friendliness of staff and residents.

It is a beautiful place with a caring staff. We have had difficulty getting my parents' medicines and med schedule in place and accurate.

[Name Removed] in the marketing department is a gem. She really connected with my dad. All of the employees learned his name in just a few days, and say hi and smile every time they see him. I'm sure they are fine for most people. He just has an interest in a few of the activities, but doesn't make an effort to take part in many of them, hopefully that will change over time. He did go to the ice cream social and said the room was too small for the number of people who showed up.

Most of the staff are patient, caring and genuinely care for the residents. A few of the caregivers even go beyond their job description. Memory Care is even more difficult for the staff but most of them handle the situations with dignity to the resident, activities are provided for residents that will participate. The outdoor garden space is being used by more and more of the residents as the weather warms.

I really enjoy the people here especially Happy Hour on Fridays. I really like events like the Tea Party we had a few months ago. I appreciate the physical therapy they have here and the convenience. And thanks to all their good cooking I’ve outgrown some of my clothes!

I moved here to MorningStar because of the location. I have a 1 bedroom plus den and I love the lighting and layout. I have made some wonderful friends here as I have been here for 6 years. I enjoy playing the accordion for the Sunday church services each week. I also help with the library with a few friends here.

No place is perfect- but MorningStar does a great job following up with concerns. It is a safe, clean, well-staffed location, with kind and patient care workers. My father is very happy there and that really sums it up.
