I love that I have my own garage and washer and dryer, that is a huge plus. I do understand the struggles with the staffing shortages so it is not entirely their fault, but they could work to improve on the quality of the meals and the repetitiveness.

My mom loves it here at Morningstar Senior Living. For us, the location is very ideal. It is close to our home so it is easy to get to her and we can get there quickly if need be. It is surrounded by a lot of other places as well so if she wants to go out she can do so. They do offer independent and assisted living which is nice in case she needs that type of care down the road. Overall we would recommend this facility to others looking.

I would advise to check out a few more places for your loved one to find a community. The staff that are here some of them are excellent and some of them are not so good. They have very few specific activities for memory care and majority of the activities are for assisted living unit. Every now and they they will include the memory care unity but not often.

We chose MorningStar because the location was important to us and we were impressed with the facility after our tour. The 2 bedroom apartments are very roomy and comfortable. The rooms over on the memory care side are a little small, but they want the residents to be out and about and not in their rooms. He complains about the food quite a bit and he is says there is no flavor, so they could use some improvements on that. Overall I would recommend to others who are looking.

From what I could see on the virtual tour, MorningStar of Boulder was very nice. It was just farther away than I wanted to be.

For the most part we're pretty happy. When I give them feedback on what I'd like to see with memory care residents, they don't really make any changes. But they do a good job with cleanliness. I like that they try to keep it open to visitors, even though the pandemic has made that difficult. They have had some outbreaks, but they don't restrict visitors. I think that's really important, because the outcome is disastrous to the residents if they don't get to see their families. We had a couple of issues at first. In memory care unit, they have 20 residents and 2-3 staff to care for them. The staff would be taking their breaks at the same time and acting unprofessionally. I did talk to the director, and that has improved. But I just feel like they shouldn't be having frequent down time since there's always something that can be done for the residents.

I would advise to give this community a try. It seems like it is a decent place for your loved one. The staff were good with my loved one and the interactions were good. No issues.

We had a good tour at MorningStar of Sparks. I thought it was nice but very expensive.

We chose MorningStar at the time because the facility itself is gorgeous and everyone seems happy and healthy. The atmosphere is top notch out of the ones we visited. I do think that the administrative staff could improve on their follow through with requests and with the families. Overall, I would definitely recommend them to others looking.

We started off on a rocky start, things are getting better but our loved is still there because of the care givers. They are so wonderful, they are very attentive to all of our loved ones needs and on top of everything.

I didn't mind anything I saw at MorningStar of Sparks. I thought their philosophy was good. They seemed to have good activities. I would have moved my mom in here if that were her choice. But she ended up choosing a different place.

The friendliness of the staff members really stood out to us.

I was impressed with MorningStar. The tour was wonderful, the facility is more hotel like and very nice. The rooms were also wonderful and the food looked to be upscale.

If you sit in your apartment bored.... your fault. If you cannot find some-thing on the extensive menu to eat... your fault. If you don't like amazing views of the surrounding mountains, again to bad because there are many activities to participate in, there is all-day dining and an extensive menu along with wonderful walking paths and views at MorningStar. The management and staff are exceptional and the maintenance of the facility outstanding. My husband and I are happy in knowing our needs will be met as we progress through life. Nothing is perfect but this comes darn close.

We chose MorningStar house because they were the newest, the best looking ,and seemed to have the best care set up and activities provided. They are short staffed and having issues hiring new people. Sometimes you do have to keep on their case about what they are supposed to be doing, so that could definitely be improved. Overall I would recommend to others looking.

No facility is perfect -- especially in these trying times -- but Morningstar's executive director, [name removed], is a truly kind and caring man. When my father developed COVID, [name removed] immediately implemented a compassionate care exception to the standard isolation protocol so my mother and I were able to visit him regularly before he passed. He showed genuine personal concern for us throughout this difficult experience and in the immediate aftermath. The institution works generally well with Bristol Hospice and Brookdale Home Health Care, which attended my father. They also made a fuss over what turned out to be his last birthday, with his favorite German chocolate cake and a movie. "Happy" is a relative concept for people who wind up in these residences, but my father was certainly happier here, and more engaged, than at a previous, larger facility, and Morningstar was a much more aesthetically pleasing place to visit.

I had a virtual tour at MorningStar, but the virtual tours really don't tell you a whole lot. They all look good just walking through with a camera. The people who led the tour were good, and the facility was brand new. I ended up choosing a place where many of the employees had long 10+ year tenures.

MorningStar at Silver Lake is a very nice place to live if you are not able to be at home. The apartments here are very spacious and very nice.

We chose MorninngStar because of the value for the money, it is a newer modern facility, and the food menu was great. The meals are chef prepared and they get a menu with options to choose from. I gave the administration 3 because the staff is transitioning, they are in the on-borading process so there are some blips going on at the moment due to that turnover. Overall I would recommend them to others who are looking.
