Merrill Gardens

I would recommend it to most people. Some nice activities. Many nice people here, a nice dining room with 2 options for all three meals prepared and served, and clean nice rooms, and nice staff!

You know I am her friend that called you and it was a Godsend for what she needed. Her being able to have her emotional support dog...Staff has been friendly and helpful. The activity at around Christmas were fun. The food is very good. I guess she said it is a little too repetitive. But she is glad she can have substitutions for the sides

Staff is consistently the same, which is good. They are very nice there. Communication with the family is good. Food is as good as can be expected at an institution.

Staff admin - caring, empathetic, engaging. The remember you, the respect your parent, they share when there is something going on in a respectful manner. Any doable idea is welcomed. The manager is direct regarding regulations and maintaining a fair application of the rules. The community meetings are not for show, concerns are listened to and heard. Support roles are growth focused and people have deep knowledge and can answer based on experience and connect the person who manages the concern in question. The front desk is amazing as the focal point of outside and inside issue management, celebrating with, scheduling for residents, and so much more for both residents and visitors. Named people: [name removed] mgr direct business focused but truly empathetic [name removed] receptionist and [name removed] receptionist five star awards to both for managing the people (see above) and truly truly truly loving the residents [name removed] with two staff in activities ([name removed] and one more) are out in the community and celebrate the memories of a resident who has a desire to share their world experiences at a special event. The seek out the resident who may forget about events. They welcome a resident to help if they choose. [name removed] and [name removed] were the sales and enrollment staff as we moved my mother into Merrill. [name removed] is a hoot. She is lovely and has a great relationship with residents before and after they arrive. [name removed] managed the enrollment and ensuring we had everything needed to support mom's experience for emergencies and connections to staff and the resident community [name removed] and staff were easy to book when needed to get the room right and for ongoing maintenance as needed

It has the nicest dining room I've seen in an independent/assisted living facility, view and the light on the buildings at sunset is beautiful. Additionally the manager is very involved with the residents.. The two decks off the dining room are great and really let a lot of light into the dining room itself. Also my mom has a great city

Good staff, activities, cleanliness and location. At the time of our visit, there was also no Community fee. Seattle metro fees ranged from $[removed] from the 8 sites I toured.

I felt this is a home away from home. The staffs are kind and very helpful to the residents. Most of the residence senior activities are participated by residents and their scheduled dinner and lunch buffets are eagerly anticipated by the residents sometimes with guest musicians and/or band. I will be living this place next month to relocate to another state but I will always remember this place once my home with lasting memories.

Staff is caring needs some more training about when to call about issues don't need to call early in morning about things that are not urgent. The room size is great. More in general needs to be available for those of us who don't know what to expect.

I visit a long time friend of mine at the Pines every week or so. I am pleased, and grateful, that she seems happy and content. The physical appearance of the living conditions seem clean and bright. The staff are friendly and helpful. There seems to be a good amount of activities for the residents to participate in , if they so wish. They include group physical activities, as well as activities to help sharpen cognitive skills and socialization. It’s been refreshing to hear the sounds of laughter during my visits! I especially enjoy visiting on days we’re music is planned in their day, which happily, seems to occur at least a couple times during the week. It is such a thrill to hear some of them joining in, as well as the smiles on their faces, as they recognize the tunes! Music certainly is good for the body and soul! I am grateful for sharing those special times with my special friend! Thank you!

My husband and I toured Merrill Gardens for his mother. We really liked the place and hope that his mother decides to move there. [removed names] are very nice, informative and friendly. I just wish it wasnt on a busy street and had more areas to walk and shop.

I like the idea of the neighborhoods and the individual dinning rooms. That is why i picked this place.

I am exploring Senior Living Options for my 94 year old mother who is currently in Independent living at another Senior Living in Fresno. I want to investigate what will be required if she should need to go to assisted Living arrangements. Truewood offers great dining experience for all 3 meals. Has 2 kitchen areas that can be used for cooking meals if a resident desires. Has a library, game area, movie room, plus worship area. Limited elevators. I only saw 1 but there may be more. Not all apartments have a balcony. The apartments do not have a full size refrigerator. (Drawback in my opinion). But you can purchase one and bring it in. No stove either. I don't remember if a microwave is included. Kitchen is very tiny. If you need assistance with care and daily activities they do have a few people you can contact for various levels of care. This would be separate from fees paid to Truewood monthly fee. Your rent includes apartment, cable, utilities, but does not include internet.

Overall I would give The Pines a 4. However if you were rating it on value for the money it is easily a 5. The staff is great. The facility is smaller but neat and clean. The food seems to be good. My mother has settled in faster than we thought she would. We are pleased with our decision.

The staff is absolutely amazing. They are attentive, knowledgeable and supportive. That includes ALL staff; administration, housekeeping, dining room and support staff. We have not met one cross or unfriendly person! Also, the apartments and related accommodation are so very comfortable and clean!

What we like the Best...The staff are friendly and accommodating What they could Improve on...The kitchen could work on accommodating different dietary needs.... ie [name removed] mom does not eat red meat..... the options are limited

Environment, cost with levels (currently doesn't need any additional services. I will say they were kind in holding my mom's room when she had a medical set back. My mom feels welcomed and is enjoying her room and the food.

The staff here at the Merrill Gardens retirement/residential community, in Santa Cruz, Ca., where I reside, can be described as tremendously essential, responsible and wonderfully attending supportive, not to mention simply helpful as well as being brightly accommodating, fully skilled, tremendously responsive and 'sure footed', with staff being at your service 24 hours a day (fully considering ?? the not unexpected and occasional - or 'whoops' type of error - occurring within the responsibility charge of considerable breadth and range of resident assistance, care, aid, house-keeping, maintenance and other and all responsibility efforts!

Staff is very friendly and helpful. The grounds are very nice and well kept. I would recommend this community to others who are currently searching for a place.
