Merrill Gardens

So far we have had a wonderful experience with Merrill Gardens, the community is very clean and the staff members are very friendly. I have been able to eat quite a few meals with our friend that is there, and I think they are delicious but sometimes she says it is a hit or miss. The residents are always kept super busy with activities and the value for cost is definitely worth it.

The staff members have been really friendly and genuine towards our family. Our loved one does not really participate in the activities due to his health, but the activities director does a great job reaching out to encourage him without us having to initiate that.

I enjoy it here. It's easy living. It's a good way to go for a senior. It makes me feel feel young. It's super clean. The staff are friendly and helpful. And the activities are great.

Just Great service, Excellent food. Helpful and eager to please, lots of good activities. No time to be lonely.

Everyone is very nice. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The activities fit my loved one's lifestyle. Bingo, gardening, and more are some activities available for the residents to choose from.

Just spent two hours with [name removed] touring the facility and looking at rooms. Met a few residents and employees. [name removed] was very helpful and answered all of my questions. I left with floor plans and pricing info.

I had originally entered my loved one into a different place that had about 14 people in memory care. Most of them were completely uncommunicative. He needed a place where he could talk to people and be involved. And being at Truewood has given him that opportunity. It's a much brighter place, with lots of sunshine and outdoor spaces. The staff seem to be very good as well.

We chose Truewood of new Bern because my mom had a friend in here so she knew the atmosphere and also the bang for the buck for the care you receive. They do have all types of care here so you can be here until end of life. The staff are really willing to work with families, all of our interactions have been seamless. I would recommend this community. They are very covid cautious. They are very clean and keeping the residents health first. It is a really good facility from the time that my loved one has been there.

We love Merrill Gardens at Ballard, my parents are very very happy here. The manager is wonderful and all of the staff are on top of everything. I would definitely recommend to others who are looking.

Our experience with Bay Park has been great so far. My dad is really enjoying his stay here and is happy.

The staff members are so caring and patient with my mom, I think they are fantastic.The meals and medication are delivered in a timely manner. I have eaten here a couple of times and I thought it was great. They do have a lot of activities provided for residents, but she does not participate in them. I think overall it is a good facility with good people, you get what you pay for. I would recommend to others looking.

We feel like we are home when we walk through the door. The staff does an amazing job taking care of our loved ones. The food is great and the chef does a great job making sure people are happy with the food. The facility is very modern and has a positive vibe. I would recommend this community to others based on my experience.

The cleanliness of the community, the friendliness of the staff members and the location played into our decision in choosing this community because those all did stand out to us.

This was actually our first choice. The facility is absolutely beautiful. I really liked the director, she had gone through the same thing with her mother and she just went above and beyond to help us out. All of the staff that we met were so kind and caring. I tell people all the time to check this place out.

For what it is worth, the meals and dining service is good and our loved one is enjoying the activities a lot she is very happy. We would recommend the Merrill Gardens at Barkley Place to families.

I visited twice with my parents and we were made to feel like part of the family. Their caring atmosphere is beautiful and wonderful ! My siblings and I have a sense of peace knowing how well our parents will be cared for at Truewood in New Bern.

If you have to be in as assisted care place, this is a wonderful place to be. I value the freedom that I have here. The staff is wonderful. They're always pleasant and helpful. They immediately learn your name and make you feel welcome. They have a lot of patience, which I appreciate. They have a lot of activities. I think all of these types of places are priced pretty highly, but I think Merrill Gardens is as fairly priced as any of them.
