Merrill Gardens

We needed to find a place where our loved one fits in and would have everything he needs. Truewood is that place, the staff in the beginning were very communicative without being to pushy or trying to sell us on anything. Everyone who we met with were just very professional and chill. The value for cost is also reasonable.

Great visit. Facility has 2 floors, which Mom is inclined to not live on a ground floor. Met lots of the team who have significant tenure there. Talked with a resident who was lovely [name removed] and overall pricing is even attractive. Larger facility (125) beds so community is more actively engaged and lots of options on monthly calendar.

We have been there for a few short weeks so far. We have been very happy with the community. I would recommend you check them out for your loved one. The communication with the staff is excellent so far.

We toured Merrill Gardens and it was a great tour and nice facility. The only reason we did not choose it was because of the location, it was too far away from where we live.

I would recommend you visit the community for your loved one. My loved one loves the food. They have some group activities and physical, along with movies. The community backs up to a small airport and the grounds are beautiful. The staff are super friendly.

I would highly recommend the community for others loved ones. Out of all the communities my loved ones have tried, this is the most responsive. What is promised and delivered is right in line. The activities offered include: outdoor activities, trivia, other games, and more for the residents in independent living to take advantage of. The memory care activities include: gardening, games, arts and crafts, and more. I am impressed what they offer.

Fig Garden is a great, reliable, friendly, secure place to have a loved one stay at. I like the small community feel of it. I've seen the activities calendar, and there are multiple things going on every day. The residents are very friendly. The housekeeping service has been very convenient to have someone come in once a week with new sheets and towels and do light cleaning. We would definitely recommend Fig Garden to others.

The community was very neat and clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Communication was great between the staff and our family. They kept us well informed and up to date. I would recommend this community to others based on my experience.

My Aunt was ready to move to assisted living life. This was the first place we saw. After seeing multiple other places , this is where she decided to move! It was bright, clean and very cheerful. All the residents seemed very happy there and they are so friendly. You cant walk down the hall with out saying many hellos to everyone you pass! The staff as well are so friendly and cheerful. My Aunt has only been there a little over a week and is so happy with her choice.

I chose Mistywood at the time because I was looking for a place for my partner at the time and she ended up living elsewhere and so I figured it would be a good choice for me. I really liked the location also it is close to shopping and they offer transportation if you need to go anywhere. The apartment sizes here were fine, I had a 1 bedroom apartment and it was very comfortable and spacious. They did well with what they could work with under the circumstances of covid as far as the food goes. I would absolutely recommend to others looking.

I chose River Highlands because I was looking for a certain price range and I picked up a brochure and in the mean time someone from here called me and gave me a price and it fit in my budget. For me the room size is great, I personally did not need a lot of room. I have a fairly large living room, a good size bathroom and I have a kitchen. It is a privately owned company so you feel closer to what they are doing. Everyone here is very friendly and accommodating. I would recommend them to others who are looking.

I had a very pleasant tour and was impressed with the various activities and programs available in their community. This was the first assisted living center that had a social room with adult beverages available..mix drinks, beer & wine. Two thumbs up!

Everybody has been very nice and very friendly. My loved one really liked the receptionist. There was one communication issue when he was getting ready to move out. He had verbally given her a date that was different than his official notice. But that aside, everyone there, including the administrator and admissions person all seemed to be very nice. Admissions is usually there on the weekends, and one Sunday when he wasn't there, he did get me a call back quickly. I think they did really well with Covid and everything else. They weren't doing activities during Covid, including church services. But my loved one started a bible study. That was the only activity I was aware of. The food was not so great when it was being delivered to the rooms. My loved one was the last room on an upper floor, and by the time everyone else was fed, his food was being delivered cold. I ordered a microwave for him, which helped him a lot. They actually recently started having limited meals together again in the dining room. My daughter, who works on Covid-related issues for the county, thought the tables were too close together at that point though.

We chose the facility because of the convenient location. The activities director is exceptional and has gone out of her way to encourage her to participate in the activities that are provided and help my mom. The staff here are just great and make her feel comfortable and accepted. I would recommend to others looking.

We toured The Pines and this was actually our favorite facility and the one we wanted to move my mom into. The only reason we did not was because they were shut down and not taking new residents in during COVID.

They make you feel at home from the first day you get here. Everybody is very friendly, very helpful. If you can't find something to do , then that's your own fault. Because there's something going on all the time. Twice a week there's Bingo, there's Word Web, everyday there's exercise, and pool aerobics if the weather is permitting. We've been starting to play board games like Rummikub and Skip Bo in the activity room. That's available every day until about 4:00. There's crafts, barbecues and cookouts at the pool with entertainment. Every week we have happy hour, often by the pool with entertainment. Wednesday nights we've started having Game-bouree. If you want to sit in your room, that's fine. But you can't say they don't offer things. On Fridays, they have a bus that takes you to Publix, Walmart, Walgreens, or Aldi. Those are all just a couple of miles down the road. They'll drop you off and come back to get you. I came here of my own volition, because I wanted to be in an active community. This one was well within my budget, and the best rate I have found. It's such a good value. I would highly recommend them to anybody.

Thee staff are very friendly and caring. They go over the top to help and make sure you are happy with the services you're getting for your loved one. The food was fine before Covid. I've not had a chance to try it since then. When they've been able to do activities, they've put them back on. They've been careful when they've needed to be. I would definitely recommend them.

Merrill Gardens was a very nice facility, it was just a little too modern for what we liked and there was not enough nature. It was a great tour and the staff were friendly.

Being a brand new resident in a unique time, with the lock down taking place a couple weeks after moving in due to the pandemic was handled well. The communication with the family was great. They kept the residents safe. I would highly recommend this community to anyone. I want to live there if the time comes.

I cannot a imagine a better place. the staff have all been there for decades. They are attentive, caring and open to speak with all of us. They are very generous with their time and energy. There are so many fun things to do. The bus is simple and amazing to use. i just cannot say enough good about Fig Garden.
