Merrill Gardens

The employees are very helpful and accommodating. They are always pleasant and smiling. The facility is well maintained and clean. Good choices of food at mealtime. Also, great activities. I would like to suggest starting dinner later. I think 5:00 - 5:30 is too early.

I enjoy living here. Everybody is very friendly and helpful. I've enjoyed playing the grand piano in the lobby for the enjoyment of the other residents I also enjoy playing Mexican train with my friends.

I HAVE LIVED AT TRUEWOOD FOR ALMOST 3 YEARS. I LOVE MY APARTMENT, THE BALCONY AND WINDOWS AND THE SPACIOUSNESS. I LOVE THE STAFF, EVERYONE OF THEM, WHO WORK HARD TO MEET MY NEEDS AND DESIRES. ARE THEY ALWAYS ABLE TO MEET MY EXPECTATIONS, OF COURSE NOT BUT PRETTY DARNED CLOSE. THE ATMOSPHERE IS WARM AND FRIENDLY WITH A VARIETY OF RESIDENTS WITH SOME AMAZING EXPERIENCES. THE FOOD IS NUTRITIOUS WITH A VARIETY OF MEALS AND DISHES THAT WE CAN ALL FIND SOMETHING THAT WE ENJOY. IS IT EXACTLY LIKE I MADE AT HOME, WELL, NO BUT I DON'T HAVE TO SHOP FOR IT OR COOK IT AND VERY OFTEN IT IS EVEN BETTER THAN I WOULD COOK AT HOME - WINN/WINN! THERE IS A GREAT VARIETY OF ACTIVITIES FROM WHICH TO CHOOSE TO MEET OUR INDIVIDUAL INTERESTS. TRIPS AROUND THE AREA ARE INTERESTING AND CREATIVE. I AM GLAD I AM HERE!!!

I am enjoying my life at Truewood with the beautiful surroundings and helpful, amiable staff. Updated decor would be appreciated and would greatly enhance the appeal of this independent living facility.

Turners Rock Senior Living Community is a great place, you just have to be able to afford it. You get what you pay for. The main reasons we chose this facility over others that we had looked into initially was because of the cleanliness of the facility, the beauty, the restaurant-style food and the activities provided for the residents. I would recommend Turners Rock to others looking for independent living.

What our family likes the most about the Merrill Gardens community is the people. They get it and aren't just there to "work" but they understanding the whole thing.

Our family had an in person tour with Merrill Gardens at Barkley Place and we were personally impressed with the community.

The friendliness of the staff members and the value for cost receive 5+. Truewood by Merrill, New Bern has been an absolutely fabulous experience all the way around. When it comes to the activities they have Ice cream socials, Resident led specialty groups, Happy Hour, Singers, Musicians, Bridge, Holiday themed , special events, Daily events are announced in the dining room. Amenities are within minutes for easy access for residents and guests. A very welcoming place with NC southern charm.

Merrill Gardens at Rockridge was expensive with a buy-in fee of $8K! Was told over the phone that rent started at $3700 but once we got there, it was $4500!!! There was absolutely no visitor parking available, even on the street. The tour was great, [name removed] was a very nice guy. I really liked this place because it was smaller. And everything was centrally located on the first floor.

This place is just wonderful. Great food, entertainment, and can easily speak with staff.

We toured with Merrill Gardens at Santa Maria. We thought that it was an amazing property that offered a lot of great amenities to the residents. Unfortunately, they did not offer respite care which is what we needed at the time.

Our family had an in person tour with Merrill Gardens at Brentwood and the tour experience was great and the staff members who answered all of the questions we had were really nice.

The manager, [name removed], and office manager, [name removed], have always been very available and responsive to questions and providing guidance. [name removed], the sales person, takes time to speak with mom and she enjoys those interactions. Maintenance and house keeping also are great. She feels safe there and that's the most important thing.

Sunshine Villa has been excellent all around. We have experienced a safe and caring facility and staff. It's a great place to care for your loved ones.

They were honest and accurate about what they could and could not do for my sister. They communicated well. Their facility is nice and well maintained. They try hard to meet the needs of residents - even difficult ones. They maintained high quality staff even during the pandemic. Scheduling community transportation for medical appointments is more difficult than hoped for. I never personally ate there but what I saw and the fact that my sister never complained suggests the food was well done.

The only issue we had was with the initial intake paperwork. It was not clear what was needed from us and the timing of those items. We did a lot of unnecessary scrambling around for paperwork and medical documents on that could have been handled more efficiently. We'd never done this before so we just didn't know and we got conflicting information from the staff. A checklist and a timeline of expectations for new residents and families would have been extremely helpful. Beyond that, my father-in-law is very happy there and seems to be adjusting well.

Truewood by Merrill New Bern was amazing with moving my mom over on super short notice. Everyone was professional and very friendly. After the initial shock of moving, my mom settled right in, and I haven't seen her smile this much in a long time.

Moving to Truewood and having the assistance to manage my husband's dementia has been a relief. And the concern for my well being as well has been most appreciated.

My Mother was briefly a resident at Truewood by Merrill West Covina and our experience with this facility was just great! The staff at this facility was wonderful. Communication with the family was great. We had no experience with the meals or activities, so I can't rate those. Otherwise, I would highly recommend this facility to family and friends based on their level of attention, kindness, cleanliness, and overall value!

We toured Merrill Gardens at Carolina Park during our search for Independent Living. This community was beautiful and welcoming and appeared to have been able to meet all of our wants and needs. The facility was, however, above the price point that we were looking for.
