Merrill Gardens

My parent's moved to Merrill Gardens Tukwila back in February 2024. They were dealing with some memory issues and needed some assistance with medications, checks at night, etc. They absolutely love their new apartment with views onto the Green River. They walk the trail along the river daily, which is only steps outside the community door. They love the food, staff, other residents, events, etc. Everyone is so kind and caring. The general manager, Shane, is amazing and my parent's adore him! All the nursing staff led by [name removed] are wonderful too! Very happy!

My 87 year-old mom has lived at Merrill Gardens at Tukwila (formerly Holden Southcenter) for 18 months, and it truly is a wonderful place. This review might sound a bit over-the-top with praise, but my platitudes are genuine. As you can see from the photos, the facility itself is gorgeous -- like a luxury hotel (that's actually how I describe it to friends). My mom's apartment is absolutely perfect for her: spacious, light-filled, modern, and functional. Nothing about it says "assisted living." My mom is quite independent and only utilizes the medication management service, which is very reasonably priced, but if she ever needs additional assistive care, we know it's available from well-trained and caring staff members. Speaking of the staff, the folks who work at Merrill Gardens Tukwila treat the residents like family, and that's not an exaggeration. They are absolute angels. The public bathrooms weren't cleaned enough and not enough attention to details (corners of the floor etc). Some of the staff went above and beyond to be helpful. My mom needed a little more assistance toward the end and they weren't allowed to help with bandages. They did help her with laundering some larger items such as blankets. The dining room was very nice but my mom often complained that the food was never hot. They had lists of activities daily even though my mom wouldn't participate in them. She only liked to go to a weekly Deals and Steals event. I visited several places before choosing Merrill Gardens, and my mom had the same basic cost (other than adding additional assistance in the last 6 months) as when she initially moved in. They were raising their prices when she passed. The management was accommodating with my mom's request to host a few friends for Happy Hour in the common space living room on Fridays (outside guests). I hosted a staff lunch when she passed to thank them.

My loved one is currently a resident at Pine Rock Manor and everything has been mostly great so far. The cleanliness and friendliness are great. The staff, care services, meals and activities are also great. I would recommend Pine Rock Manor to others.

My mom passed away in [date removed] , but I will say Merrill Gardens was great with my mom and addressed any issues that we brought up promptly. Kept us informed if she was not feeling well on any given day. Very good. I would give them a 5. If I did have a issue they addressed it immediately. They were very good to my mother.

I would rate all at 5. My mother is very happy with Merrill Gardens community. She says the food is very good, she's made friends and they have a lot of activities. We would recommend the community.

As good as an assisted living can be. But much more expensive than we imagined.

We had a great experience. My dad loved living here and we were very relieved to see him adjust quickly to the environment, make friends and feel like he belonged. Any one interested in a location for their parent should tour the community. You feel welcomed to stay from the moment you walk to the doors. It's not too big, there is plenty to do, the food is great, and the staff is like family.

So far so good. I would recommend to others.

Our loved one was only there for 5 weeks for rehab care, and based on the experience we had we would recommend this community to other families.

My father passed away last year. He lived a very full 92 years. The people at Turner's were excellent while he was there. We did hospice care at Turners and their team surpassed all expectations. I would strongly recommend them to anyone!

My mom was previously a resident at Truewood by Merrill West Covina for a brief time and her experience was great. Everything at this facility, head to toe, met our expectations and then some! Her stay was as good as could be expected under the circumstances. I would highly recommend Truewood by Merrill West Covina for Assisted Living.

They have such an active community and busy population. The rooms are amazing, with all the comforts and amenities you want. The staff is friendly and caring. The food is top-notch. There is such a variety of meals.

Mom has been living at Merrill Gardens a little over a month. She is really enjoying all the activities offered and typically gets involved in at least one or two a day. Food choices and the quality of the meals is exceptional. Staff has gone above and beyond to provide a great experience for all their residents. Leaving home is a very difficult decision but Merrill Gardens has made the transition much easier.

What I like the most about this community is keeping my daughters apprised of what's happened in my life. Based on the experience I have had with Merrill Gardens at Barkley Place, I would recommend them to other families who may need a place for their loved ones.

Friendly people and they take care of you. The people are so well taken care of and are happy. You definitely do not go hungry.
