Merrill Gardens

Like everywhere, some employees are fantastic, others less so, and some are somewhere in between. But overall, we feel like she is in good hands. I would recommend Merrill Gardens at Gilroy to others looking.

It's like one big family!!!! Every time I go to visit I get a hug from someone ! My dad is in memory care and everyone there is amazing!!!! It is still so hard to leave him but he has such a great relationship with all the people that take care of him!!!!! It's such a beautiful facility and such caring wonderful people!

The staff is very friendly, they also make a very special effort to get to know each resident , there needs and family members personally. We have always felt very welcomed, and have seen the personal help and needs to the residents. As far as the food goes, they did have a meeting with the staff and residents to work on this. It is very pricey, but she's very happy there so you can't put a price on that.

The staff there are very friendly and caring and it is a big reason. I chose Truewood over some of the other facilities in our area. The independent living apartments are on the older side however, their well-maintained. The grounds are pretty and they're very accommodating for customizations if desired. If they are still offering the independent plus program that is a fabulous option for people in independent living that need to be checked in on. It provides assistance with meals by bringing them to the apt. if they're not up to going to the dining room laundry, cleaning in case of my mom an occasional dog walk.

We we're very impressed with all aspects of Truewood by Merrill, New Bern! They cared very well for my mother-in-law who just passed away almost 2 weeks ago. They are a very dedicated group here. Everyone goes out of their way to help you. They have someone come in every Thursday to do a show. There is always an activity in the morning and then some thing in the afternoon. We have happy hour Every Friday. Besides this there us bingo. Po keno puzzles and a huge librar' exercise room and a poker room. We definitely made the right choice coming here. We have had the same staff since we have been here where we came from the managers challenged areas every 2 months. I highly recommend this place You are in a safe environment

The support, care, and attention my parents have received is consistently outstanding. The facility itself is gorgeous, the staff are uniformly friendly and supportive, and the array of activities offered for residents is outstanding. Absolutely would recommend Merrill Gardens to anyone - as a matter of fact, my wife's uncle is considering moving there right now.

My mom had a fall at Truwood at no fault of anyone. They quickly got her to the emergency room and she had fractured her hip. After a hospital and rehab stay at a different facility my mom was finally getting released back to Truwood. The staff there not only worked with the rehab center to make the release and transition back, when I stopped in to check on her room staff members knew she was coming back and told they were so happy she was coming back home and when she finally arrived back everyone gave her a warm welcome home.

I'd say it would be a 5 all around. I've been very pleased. Right now if I had to choose for myself that is where I would want to go. Staff is very friendly, Professional, Knowledgeable, An eager to help in any way they are asked. It's more like a large family than a nursing care facility. It's just a great bunch of people doing their job very well.

The staff were always very friendly and took great care with mom, especially when she had to transition to the memory care side. They did, however, have a lot of turnover when it came to the facility director position which caused some inconsistencies.

The reason we gave the value for cost a 3 is because my aunts monthly fee went up [fee removed] in the year anniversary which is in July. However, based on the experience we have had so far, we would absolutely recommend Merrill Gardens to other families. I understand cost have gone up for everything, food, employee salary, maintenance and that's why the monthly fee went up. But I am ok with it. My aunt is in memory care and they are really great . They don't change employees in that area, I assume they are doing well. Plus that helps cause they get used to them and know them

My mom moved into Merrill Gardens at University the summer of 2022. The staff and the team are very kind and go out of their way in taking excellent care of the residents and make residents' families feel comfortable that their loved ones are in good hands. The facilities are well maintained, the food nutritious and tasty and a wide variety of activities. We researched a number of options and are so happy that our mom now calls Merrill Gardens at University "home".

Merrill Gardens has been great! Especially since my mom was admitted she has some issues and they have been very accommodating & have cared for very will. I would say they are in the 5's for the above categories. We are very happy with Merrill Gardens

Mom moved from her own 3 bed/2bath Home and she was pretty resistant at first. We narrowed her search down to 3 options and she knew right away that Truewood would be her place. They accommodated her wish for all vinyl plank flooring/no carpet and she found a 1 bdroom layout that suited her. She has encountered a few hurdles but overall she is adjusting well. Both staff and residents have been friendly and welcoming. She has found a few things to complain about as is her nature but overall she seems to be doing well.

So far my father loves it there. He feels very lucky. What we like the most about Truewood by Merrill, Fig Garden is that it is in walking distance to small outdoor mall. Nice part of Fresno. My dad spends most of the day eating with others. Very good for his health.

Very nice and comfortable facility for my mom. She seems happy with the food and her room is quite large and clean. The rent is very reasonable and the location just off the freeway is convenient for visiting.

After touring several facilities, we felt that Truewood was the best place for my mother-in-law. Especially after the attention the staff gave us when we were in a bind to find a place while my mother-in-law was in the hospital and couldn't return home without around the clock care. We have not been disappointed. Truewood has taken very good care of my mother-in-law. Other than a couple of minor communication issues, we are very happy we chose Truewood. She is in much better health since moving in. The staff is great!

I want to retire there.

I convinced my best friend to move her mother there and they are ?? happy. The staff and care are top notch, food is five star, building is beautiful. The activities are perfect for seniors. They took perfect care of my father till he passed there and his last days were so dignified and loving. His last day, every shift change they lined up in the hall to hug and kiss him.

Although there were some problems, management was working on them. It was about the most reasonable places for what we got, so probably would recommend to others.
