Merrill Gardens

We chose Sheldon Park because it was specific to my dads needs. The room sizes here are pretty comparable to everything else we saw. My dad is pretty satisfied with the food here and has had no complaints. I would say the best part about the community so far has been the responsiveness that the staff members have to issues that arise. I would recommend this community to others.

We really liked how when we came to first visit this community, all the residents seemed really engaged with each other as well as the staff. They were doing things all the time. The rooms are very comfortable at this community, however some of the room styles are more difficult to decorate but you just have to get creative. The rooms were all kept very clean. This community has a lot of natural light and is very airy. Our loved one is very happy with the food, she really enjoys all of it. We have been very pleased with this community

Looks nice. The pool,Generators for loss of power,Stackable washer dryer availability in the apartment as well as Happy Hour are all a plus. [name removed] may miss her old church community in Cape Coral, but we shall see how much of an issue that is.

Studio apts viewed. Nice residential neighborhood. Full utilities in rent. Convenient to medical and shopping resources.

i like Merrill Garden and the staff have done a great job Corona virus really trying to keep the residents safe. We chose this community because it was the nicest looking in appearance and cleanliness and the staff were knowledgeable and could answer our questions. He loves the food and they offer a good variety on the menu. I would recommend this community to other families. He loves living there and it really was the best option for him.

Every time I have visited, there is at least one of the staff that is constantly cleaning, including my mother's room. They do try to bring activities in for the residents, recognizing birthdays, and other things to make the residents to feel at home. The activities director is phenomenal, always smiling and positive! The food is adequate, although sometimes it seems like the memory care building is getting leftovers from the main building. The staff also does bring snacks around or drinks if the residents would like. In most situations, the care giving staff is doing a great job. They have really tried to make the best of my mother's situation and behaviors. We wish there was more communication from the staff regarding my mother's care, something like a regularly sent overview of my mother's health and well being.

They take the residents out but it is not really well advertised and they could offer more outing that are appropriate for all of resident's needs . The are always rushing during activities in the building . They just don't have enough staff support for activities. It's a nice residential facility. My mom is happy and the other resident seem to be fairly happy there. My mom says food is good. They have a nice outdoor patio and they offer underground parking for the residents.

I have been really please with how the community is handling the pandemic. I feel safe with my parents at Barkley Place. The food is great. My parents really like it. The room sizes are good. The community as a whole is smaller but adequate. When a room come available they redo the entire room, new carpet, paint, kitchen, all new for next resident.

Mistywood is a friendly place in a really nice setting. My sister is very happy there, she feels like it is her new home. Food is not the best, residents say the food quality has gone down. I like the layout of the community. The room sizes are good. The staff is very friendly.

I am thrilled with the way they are handling the COVID lockdown. They bring her meals to her room. They have done a good job with the overall move in process. The food is exceptional, she loves it, it's delicious. It's a great place for my mom.

This is a very beautiful, clean facility. They offer assisted living and memory care units. We were impressed with the staff, as they seem to be very attentive to the residents-even when no one is looking, and the residents seem very happy. We would definitely "drop in" (without an appt.) at a few different times of the day, just to check up, but we would do that anywhere before making a decision.

Very inviting. Staff and residents are happy and positive! Beautiful place. Too bad their assisted living med techs can’t administer insulin due to the facilities licensing.

Larger studio, current open one is on a corner w/2 windows so it would be an extra $100/month, $5600. Level of care 1-$450, 2-$900, 3-$1300, 4-$1800, 5-$2250. Has 2 closets, pretty spacious. Residents can leave doors open or closed. Not a lock down, alarm goes off on exit doors not key card access. Has been open for 20 years, added onto so some differences in rooms. Smelt a little stale (like urine) in the first section. Assisted living and Memory Care are combined together. Have a private dining room for patients who need lots of assistance for privacy. (She said she never charges the $2,250 so the max would be $7,400 plus purchase incontanace products.)

this is a very active hands on assisted living operation which also offers independent living which I am currently a participant in. The activity room and recreation services dept are excellent. There is transportation to and from appointments available but only on tuesdays and thursdays They have entertainment 2 or 3 times a week and the same with moves although they don't have a theater, it's just shown in the Grand Room. The meals are OK but menus are limited. This is a very Happy, Bright place. Everyone including the Operation manager are readily available and great you by name when they see you. They one short fall is the lack of an RN after 4 pm and weekends.

The staff members I interacted with were very friendly. The front office personnel knew the residents by name and their different personalities. The Memory Care areas had a closed in feel. Lots small rooms which felt a bit like a maze. I did notice a urine smell in the halls. The semi-private rooms had a feel of some separation as the beds were not set up right next to each other. This was comfortable. The shared bathroom area was small and didn't lend itself to much personal space. The staff was very knowledgeable about dementia and Alzheimer's. They strive to accommodate the different personalities of the residents. There are even monthly informational meetings on caregiving and aging that family can attend.

New structure. Friendly staff that tries hard. Good location with shopping, walking trails, restaurants all easily accessible.

This facility was beautiful but $1500 for a studios is ridiculous to me.

This is a beautiful facility with everything that you could want in a care facility. The big drawback is it it is way out in distance, but the price is in line with almond height so it is more reasonable. There is a great selection of activities memory Care was very active the rooms were very nice in large enough for [name removed] and [name removed], with high ceilings in granite counters in bathrooms. The food was great. It is open dining from 7 to 7 and you can either order either one of two meals of the day or order anything off a regular menu, even breakfast. Transportation to doctors is provided but no Bible study or on site church services. But transportation is provided to local churches. This is a great facility just wish it was closer. We will bring [name removed] and [name removed] here to check it out as this is one of two choices in the final running.

The staff was friendly. We went at 3 p.m. so the residents were out and about with various activities. The rooms were clean. This was my first tour so I am not sure how to rate the facility.

Way to expensive. A really nice place though. It deserves 5 stars, wish we could afford it. So I only gave it a 4. Tour was [date removed].
