Merrill Gardens

We had a tour and they were a great place and it could have been fine for my In-Law. There were a large number of Asians for him to speak Cantonese and they were close to our home. I felt he would have been comfortable but it was not the right fit for him.

My aunt has recently made the move into this community and so far we are very pleased with how things are going for her. The price was perfect for her budget and her care has been excellent from the staff. She has has had no complaints about the meals and enjoys participating in some of the activities they have for the residents. Overall it has been the perfect fit and we are lucky to have found it for my aunt.

We considered this community when we were looking. The staff we met were friendly and the community did seem clean. The community we chose, however was brighter than this community. The cost of this community was a little higher than the community we chose.

i have no complaints of how things are going for my self since I have recently made the move into this community. The staff have been attentive to our needs and have made us feel right at home in our new living environment. I like the dinning experience with the other residents as well as the activity program they have available. I would recommend this place to anyone interested.

I like this place ...but I want to look more

My father has advanced dementia and the staff here in the memory care unit are so good with him, they make sure that his food is done correctly, his room is kept clean and that his daily care is well taken care of for him. I would definitely recommend this community.

Merrill Gardens at Rockridge was the best fit for our memory care needs. It is a beautiful and clean community. Our friend loves to eat and the food is very good here. They offer a wide variety of healthy choices, the meals are well balanced. There are plenty of activities for the residents that can and wish to participate. It is in an urban setting and they have a common patio area with a view of the bay. There is also a rooftop terrace with a garden and an amazing view for the residents to enjoy. I would recommend Merrill Gardens at Rockridge.

My mother and I toured this residence, and found it to be very nice. The apartments are large and cheerful, the staff and residents are welcoming and personable, and all in all, we were impressed. The only thing we didn't like, compared to the other facilities that had pools, is that this pool is not screened in, which would be advantageous. Other than that, we really liked it, and the waiting list is evident we're not the only ones.

Lovely new apartments and definitely has the beat of the local Rockridge neighborhood. Also the community members appear to be varied and engaged. Definitely not the typical suburban, cookie-cutter senior facility. Was quite refreshing compared with so many of the other places we have seen. Also like the idea that all the units are independent living and the assisted care is added in, so assisted living residents are not separated from everyone else.

My mother has recently moved into this community and she could not be happier with how things are going. [Removed] has been excellent to work with and the overall staff have been very helpful with the transition. She is loving the meals and enjoys the social environment at the dinning experience. My mom has also fully engaged her self in all of the great activities like the book club and movies. She has been going on all of the outings and makes sure to catch the shuttle to her doctors appointments. Overall we could have not picked a better place for her and I would defiantly recommend it to anyone.

I have no complaints of how things went for my loved one and I during our tour of this community. The staff where on time to our appointment and made sure to answer any questions we had for them in detail. I was impressed with the presentation they had and how professional they where throughout our visit. It was just not the right location for my loved one in the end decision but I would recommend it to anyone.

Mom is doing fine since moving here. She seems to be well adjusted however I would like her to be doing more of the activities than what she is currently doing. The community has a piano that the residents can play or sit by the fireplace and listen to someone else play. The staff is wonderful very engaged with the residents and the families. The community is kept very clean and well maintained. They have different areas around the building to sit and visit with family or friends or just the other residents. Mom said the food is ok it could be better.

This is a brand new community so everything is new and clean. The staff is doing their best trying to get everything settled for all the inconveniences and issues that are occurring with the residents and the families. The communication with the staff and families could be a little better but I expect that will improve once everyone gets settled. The food is wonderful.

I am pleased to hear that she is happy considering she did not want to move in at first.

Relatively new and bright. [Removed] was a very pleasant host. We liked everything we saw and heard. Prices are comparable to the others. Location is good for us. I would rate it an 8.

For the most part, everything is going just fine! Our only issue is that, since it is a new facility, the staff are still in the process of finding ways to become more efficient, but this is to be expected. It's been a bit of a bumpy road so far, but the experience has been good.

I like the care at this community for the great care that is being received. The community is clean and well maintained. They offer alot of activites that she likes to sometimes participate with the other residents. The atmosphere is nice and we would recommend this community for the care and families should tour the commuity for the cost of the care for a loved one.

They are a new community and they did not have a lot of things there. It was a rough start when they were opening during our first week of having my mom moved in. While my mom is getting adequate care, sometimes their staff are untrained and they are not coordinating together. I also see they don't have enough activities. Most of the staff are pretty good for the most part. The meals are so great, it is the best part.

Since I moved into the community and became a resident, everything has been fine for me.

We loved the modern atmosphere! Being a newer community we are very happy with how it's all come together. The vibe here was very welcoming and comforting for my loved ones! The dining experience is a work in progress but steadily improving while the Head Chef out on a medical leave. I would recommend taking a look to see if it meets the needs of your loved ones. I have aleady personally made some recommendations to friends!
