The sales people are very kind, they are good at their job, however the assistant to the nurse was very rude. When we visited we were very hands on, very helpful and we were straight forward with the staff about our loved ones health. They promised they would not kick anybody out despite their health or behavioral issues. They reassured us everything was going to be okay but that was not the case. Our loved one had several outburst which caused some behavioral issues, she quick eating, drinking and not taking her meds. She became very paranoid. They did not have the activities they promised because of the short staff and the holidays. The night staff would hang out playing on their phones while the residents were wondering the halls. Our loved ones items were disappearing, they just did not handle the situation properly or follow through with the things they had promised.

They said my mom was out of control, disruptive due to dementia they wanted to put her in the Alzheimer’s unit and they drugged her. She is in Atria Westminster now they love her to death and no she’s not on any drugs

DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES HERE! There are too many instances to list on how bad our experience was with Legend. They have the rudest staff I have ever encountered ([names removed] even the corporate offices...the list goes on) They straight up lied us on multiple occasions and then tried to cover it up. Upon moving out, my loved one's room was disgusting. Moldy food containers were found around the room and it looked like nothing had been wiped down or cleaned in months. (We have pictures) Please do yourself a favor and steer clear of Legend of Broomfield. We could not get out of there fast enough. DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES HERE

I would not even go to this facility, they don't have registered nurses on duty and their memory care staff would make fun of the residence. I would not recommend this facility to others.

Legend most likely is a good fit for some families. I would encourage families to spend time there before to placing their family member there, ask a lot of questions, and and visits often. The head of nursing does assessments. Make sure those assessment are properly done for the proper placement of family member. Upon assessment, they said they could meet my loves ones needs but could not and did not.

My mom was there for 2 weeks. Sales lady lied about overall price. After she was done kissing kitchen staff person in her office. Very displeased. Got my mother out!

We were so disappointed in this place. I would advise no one to place their family member here. While it is cosmetically beautiful the care staff is not acceptable. There needs to be a "0" rating, 1 Is the lowest I could give. We were only there 4 months, within that 4 months we identified multiple issues with the care staff. My mom was being charged (dearly) for services that were not being rendered and when ask we were lied to about them being done. We had to go through the District Manager to arrange a meeting with the Director/Nurse Director to discuss said findings, where it was admitted. However, took much of our time researching and watching and documenting. It appears they bank on the residents having memory issues to get by with inadequate care. How incredibly sad for the residents. Our Home Health Agency had 17 documented times they talked with Nursing about my Mom being in the same clothes and unbathed. Myself and other family members witnessed first hand verbal abuse by staff to other residents. We had medication issues, such as medications not being administered or sporadically administered...which we can now prove by getting her medications when we moved and doing a tally with the pharmacy. which now explains one reason Mom's anxiety got so bad she was pulling her own hair out (something she has never done). She talked often and repeatedly about having no voice there and you were not allowed to say anything. this she even stated to two physicians. There is no excuse for elder abuse verbal, physical or emotional. We paid for services for 4 months that were not consistently performed. No refund was offered, an adjustment was made after a formal complaint and meeting took place but no restitution for the months we overpaid for them. We gave notice and moved immediately. If you have someone that lives here, please, be vigilant and attentive , be present and listen to your family member. I will say on a positive note the activity staff went above and beyond and were always upbeat, respectful and kind. The care staff has issues, the majority (not all) of aides and med techs you will always see in the halls on their phones or congregated in the outer office in the nursing area. No matter where you have to place your loved one be present , be their advocate. We were so disappointed, but most importantly feel that our Mother was the victim of elder abuse in a verbal way that resulted her being fearful there. When she did say something it was always followed by, don't say anything , you aren't the one that lives here. We are heartbroken with our experience as we feel our Mother paid the ultimate price as we made the decision for her to be put here. I reported everything in this review to the Administration and to the District Manager and I pray that the issues will be addressed for those that remain and any future residents.

I wouldn't put my worst enemy at this place. There are so many violations. Too many to describe and I have already put so much time and effort trying to be an advocate for our mom. It makes you want to cry.

This center overpromised us on near everything and once your loved one is in, they forget their promises. Help is in constant turnover. Nurses double as wait staff in the dining room and maintainence man doubles as the center director. You will not rest worry free for your loved one will need to be checked on constantly! The nurses are great and the maintainence men are great, but there is no leadership. It is a very sad place with little to no entertainment and the residents are sleeping in chairs and unengaged most of the time. A very sad place, and it in my opinion, it is death's waiting room. Its a lot of money to pay for no work out room, pool, or dances such as they have at both the Atrium and The Village.....be very careful about putting your loved one here.

This place is horrible. The level of care here is terrible. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. When you are placing a family member here, you are trusting that they will be taken care of. You already have a enough stress as it is. Legend does not care about you. They only care about how much money you can contribute. Many of the rooms have roaches. It’s disheartening how terrible the care is here. If you move in, they will give you a pedenat. The general standard is they are suppose to respond in 10 minutes. They NEVER do. I’ve never seen them respond in less than 40 minutes. I’ve witnessed multiple residents be abused and cussed at there. There is a reason they don’t want to have cameras. The nursing staff if horrible to the residents. Don’t even bother trying to contact the RD. She doesn’t give two flying craps. She only cares that she has a job and makes money off of you. I forgot to mention that the food is TERRIBLE. It is never served hot EVER

If you need any type of assistance, this is not the right facility. My mom had numerous medication errors and although there were many meetings with the director, nursing director, and regional managers these issues were never resolved (months later). Many questions or concerns were never answered. The communication system used by the employees and residents (when they push their button) is unreliable as it works on wi-fi and signals are not always received in certain parts of the building. Some of the associates go above and beyond, but there are those that do as little as possible, it also is evident that there is a lot of animosity among employees (two employees almost actually fought in my moms room). They are usually short staffed (can't imagine why) which puts a heavy load on the employees and also impacts the care residents receive. The food is terrible for the most part, the snack center is sparse and the sandwiches or snacks in the refrigerator upstairs are sparse to non-existent. The activities director and her assistant are awesome. It seems they are on a very limited budget, but still manage to provide engaging activities. The reason I rated cleanliness low is not that the building or rooms are not clean, but things like food trays are sometimes left in the room all day even though multiple associates will pass through contributing to the ant problem.

Would not recommend this facility.

There have been three or four directors in three years and each one has succeeded in cutting staff, services and care, From time to time there have been some very good care givers, but they seldom last more than 90 days. Most of the staff in memory care is now provided by a temp agency so there is very little training or accountability. This week was the third time that the staff has failed to reorder my mothers medications. The worst of the problem is that my sister or I were there every day and inquired daily why she was no longer able to follow commands. It was not until the fourth day without two major medications that we were told that they had failed to order them and she had been out for four days. Why didn't anyone tell us when we were there instead of ignoring the problem. This is only a sampling of the issues that are present at this facility.

Do not put your love ones in this place they pay for the service but won’t get things done house keeping don’t clean your place it’s nasty to be not even 9 months old food is bad you get same thing all time carestaff has to do the kitchen tables when they should be doing our laundry or cleaning if you push your call button you are waiting for a while not good nice place but no service carestaff don’t stay long due to too much stress

If you want your loved one to receive care with dignity, it’s not at this place. If you want your loved one to have their call bell answered within a reasonable amount of time and not ignored for hours, then it’s not at this place.  If you want your loved one to receive medications on time, it’s not at this place. If you want your loved one to be put to bed and not left in a chair to sleep overnight,  it’s not at thisnplace. If you’re looking for staff who care, it’s not at this place.  Keep looking.

[Name removed] was very impressive! She was very empathic and a great listener to the needs of my mom. She made the visit and tour a very pleasant experience and explained all that the facility offered residents and family.

I have been very disappointed in this facility and the care given to my aunt while she lived there. We were promised all kinds of wonderful things when we first toured that never came to fruition. We constantly had to stay on top of the staff to get her laundry and cleaning done on a weekly basis as promised; and the bathroom was never properly cleaned. We were told she would get assistance with bathing at least 3 days a week, but they never came when promised. Again we had to constantly remind them. The staff did not engage with the residents and never encouraged them to leave their rooms and participate in activities. The food was pure slop, half the time you couldn't even recognize what was being served. When we went to management with our concerns it was obvious they could care less. Needless to say we did not have any peace of mind that her meds were properly administered. It is a horrible place to put your loved one.

Beautiful facility that doesn't live up to its promises. Continuous staff turnover has become the norm and not the exception. What you think you see is not an appropriate expectation of what you will receive. My suggestion is to talk to family members that are still there to get an accurate description of what you will actually experience especially on the weekends. Be prudent in your due diligence and check out their ratings with the agencies that send temporary employees here and with the state for their findings. This place has all the outer apperance potential but not the inner workings to make it work at this point.

We gave a deposit on a room for our Mother and signed all the paperwork, then about a week later were told that they had given the room to someone else and had no more openings at present which put us in quite a dilemma which prompted this review.

Both my parents lived at HarborChase - my father in Memory Care and my mother in Assisted Living. Here are a few of many problems they encountered: (1) The family was not notified of a scabies outbreak in Memory Care. My father and other residents were treated without our knowledge or consent. (2) The Memory Care unit was sometimes unstaffed - residents were completely unattended. On one such occasion, my father was injured by another resident. (3) My father's medications were not given according to doctor's orders. Management could not locate his medication log when we requested a copy for his doctor. (4) The air conditioner in my mother's room stopped working because the filter was completely clogged with dirt. A persistent cough, which began shortly after she moved in, went away after the air filter was changed. (5) There were live roaches in my mother's room. I requested a family meeting with the Executive Director to voice our concerns. Instead of addressing the care and safety issues, She gave us 45 days to "find another facility" for my parents. 22 days later, they moved to a new home. HarborChase kept their $3,500.00 deposit and the pre-paid rent - approximately $15,000.00 for the 27 days before we were told to vacate and the 22 days it took to find another facility. If I had checked with the State of Florida for complaints against HarborChase and taken the time to verify credentials of people who worked there, I would have avoided a terrible experience. But I didn't. I believed what I saw and heard during the tour - not realizing that a facility can be staged to look clean, well-staffed, and safe - with troublesome patients kept out of sight. HarborChase is a horrendous memory for us, but fortunately, my parents are safe and happy in their new home.
