Mom seems very pleased with the friendliness of all the staff. The facility appears to be quite clean and pleasantly decorated and the staff overall seem eager to please. I have run into some difficulties with my Mom's medications due mostly to her misunderstanding of instructions and unwillingness to part with control. That being said, I would appreciate a little more communication regarding this matter. The nurses have provided me with information when I have asked for it but have not called when mom challenges them. My brother who is a pharmacist is available to consult and to talk with mom when notified about problems.

There were many challenges getting settled in this community. The staff was not the best. They have new directors and things have improved. Overall it is good but you need to keep an eye on things.

Very nice facility, the one thing that concerned me was that for my husband's mental capacity, they didn't really have anything. The memory care was in an enclosed are on the upper level. Otherwise if you were in there as a normal assisted living place, it was outstanding. The overall facility and the programs that they had were great.

There were some people that I thought were great and there were others that were not so, the majority were extremely friendly and helpful and there were some that seemed like they didn't want to be there. Taking all things into consideration, it was a new business and like any new business there were new employees and it takes awhile to weed out the ones that should be there and find your core staff. Overall I would say the care was good, it seemed very expensive to me but I don't really have a frame of reference. The bottom line is, I think my mom did well while she was there and that was our number one goal. She really did et better and better to the point where she could go home. She felt she was too young for this place and I got the same feeling. But she was not happy in the least bit with the food, I tried it once and it seemed okay but she really wasn't happy with t. When you're retired the food is what you look forward to so it's really important and she was not happy at all with it.

The apartment is great. The size/space of the one bedroom is perfect for one adult. The facilities are very clean and well maintained. The quality of the food preparation seems inconsistent and a source of complaints among the residents. Additionally, there seems to be a high rate of turnover with staff.

The Gables is a beautiful facility inside and out. The first impression is a good one. The building is very attractive and the landscaping is well kept and colorful with seasonal flowers. The cleaning staff does an excellent job of keeping the facility clean. However, the dining room and meals are a catastrophe. For the last few months, The Gables has been without a chef. My understanding is there a new chef coming directly from training in two weeks. There is not a consistent group of trained servers and it is quite obvious. There have been innumerable days where the tables are not set, there is no cook, there are no servers, and there is little to no food available. The residents have sat for an hour several times waiting for service and a meal. A few of the other employees have stepped up and prepared some sort of breakfast with whatever food they can find. There have been occasions where there is no food or meals that are served cold and/or inedible. I have experienced ordering four items and none were available. I have gotten up and walked out. This is a healthcare facility and good, nutritious, hot food is tantamount to good health. It was the nicest facility that I toured and I was extremely impressed with the sales director, activities director, and the medical director. I also love this area of Tallahassee. I would certainly tell others about the abysmal dining situation and the poor upper management. I would also mention the positives that are listed above.

Staff is great (5) care (3) activities (5) food (5) cleanliness (3) room size (5). On the care it seems that hygiene, brushing teeth, showering is not regular or at all.

Was able to give the 24 hour assistance she needed.

The facility seems to be undergoing some turnover and my mother is complaining about the food and shortage of nurses/nurses aides. Hoping this is short lived.

Food generally is fair to poor at best, except on special events when it's pretty good. Staff is not overly ambitious with regards to getting residents involved in activities.

There are problems that have to be addressed...one being food ,transportation and medical care. I would recommend the facility because they all have problems

Mostly excellent but a few bumps when she was sick that were very concerning and the fact most of the staff has changed has me rating them down. We do like the facility but it hasn't been challenge free.

We chose The Winsor after my mother came down sick and she could no longer live alone., because of the amazing people that worked there. No family lives close in FL but at the time she wanted to stay. At first it was good but in less then 10 months, there were 3 directors and the majority who cared so much gone. Those who remained so over worked. We decided to move my mom closer to me, what I found when we came down sad. So few workers and people not getting the needed care. Once here the doctor found my mom had mild pneumonia and a UTI. Given the condition of her room I was not surprised. 1 shower a week often at 3 or 4 am! Nights and weekends are the worst. Just glad we got her out and praying for those who remain.

The facility was built and designed well. Many of my questions were answered, but very focused getting the sales. Just seeing minimum enter action between staff and residents it didn’t feel like a home settling. I did get the feeling that they respect the privacy of their residence.

Quality care, incontinence information in contract, payment confirmation not consistent and medical support not good, however, care and concerns lunch time is very good.

My husband began exhibiting aggressive behavior shortly after moving in, and it quickly became clear that the community was not equipped to handle him. He moved in on [date removed], and by Christmas I was being asked to provide a one-on-one caregiver 24/7 at $[removed] an hour while they worked to get his medications adjusted. That arrangement continued until yesterday, when I had to stop the one-on-one care because it was simply too expensive. We are now moving him tomorrow to [community removed], where they say they have experience and success working with aggressive behaviors. Overall, this has not been a good experience. It has been extremely frustrating. Some of the staff are wonderful and genuinely caring, while others are far less responsive. Another concerning issue is that my husband was placed in pull-ups, something that had never been necessary before this stay. This turned into a horribly expensive lesson. I also want to point out that potential families should be very aware of community fees—I am now out that money as well, and my husband didn’t even make it a full month. Most importantly, communities need to be very clear about their limitations. I’ve learned that the sales staff can be compassionate and reassuring, but they have little to do with the actual care that is provided.

The food is not as good as expected. They did fun things over the holidays for the residents but things have been quiet since the new year. They do not always respond to call buttons when pushed. The rooms for family gatherings is a wonderful option.

The staff was nice but the reaction times when the button was pushed was bad more than good. One morning my mom waited 2 hours for a response. bTW. My passed away

The nursing care staff are very nice. The food is definitely below average, often stale and served cold, with limited selection/variety and often "out of" listed menu items. Facility is clean. Billing errors are common. Phone calls (to billing) not returned. Director is leaving so there is some inconsistency with where the facility is heading.

The staff at Park West last year when we had the urgent need to get family into assisted living was great. They really showed that they cared, understood the urgency and the situation of having one parent with memory issues and one parent in the hospital with an emergency. They helped us as much as they could along the journey. Throughout 2025 I have to say that the service has been a steady decline. Many of the original staff we worked with have moved on to other places. Billing is a never-ending challenge to get right often taking months until the account is corrected. Maintenance issues have been numerous and taken some time to get addressed. Cockroaches. Constant cable issues where it just turns off every half hour and needs rebooted. Electrical panel that was constantly buzzing on the wall in the bedroom making it impossible to sleep. Furnace needing repair. I totally understand that the facility was built in the 80s or 90s, but they could be more timely in getting to some of this.
