The gentleman who helped us was very professional but the original person we scheduled with never came to meet us. It was also set up by appointment and we waited in lobby for 15 minutes and no one ever met with us even though we checked in at front desk. Finally another worker asked if we needed help and gave us a brief tour. Was a beautiful facility but we did not think our mother would be able to make it to dining room by herself and I know she would not have asked for assistance three times a day so it was not an option. Too far away from rooms.

It's a very clean facility. Most of the staff seems very friendly but they are understaffed like most facilities. And don't have an RN a on staff around the clock.

The experience was good, until after my loved one was no longer at the facility. The care that we received was good. The food wasn't that good. The activites were really nice. I felt like they did not handle my billing issue properly. A lot of the staff were good and kind, except for my encounter with one person. The menu is the same, and was very limited. The dining room staff was really nice.

It's hard to find a decent memory care in Tulsa. Caregivers were very friendly and they did have a lot of activities for the residents. I would say to improve the quality of care they need more experienced caregivers on each shift. My loved one has hurt themselves multiple times while living here.

There has been a major problem with the food situation. We are not happy! The chef left and went somewhere else I'm assuming because they weren't paying him enough then a bunch of the waitresses left that were so sweet there we love them because they wouldn't pay enough I think the guy that runs the place wants to do it but it seems like the corporation is being cheap and it's really gonna give them a bad reputation

I toured this community and it was ok. It did feel a lot like a hospital and not as homey. It wasn't as clean as I would have liked.

The room was ready for him on his first day and well supplied to meet his needs. The staff was extremely kind and attentive and came by with the activities coordinator and nurse to review procedures and let my FIL know what to expect. It was definitely comforting. A few moments after we arrived, staff came bearing a welcome basket with snacks, candy, and water. These measures made what could have been a stressful experience into a much more comforting one. Once settled in, care went down in quality. My FIL commented that he was frequently forgotten, and his meds were not given. When I forgot to sign him out once, he noted "they'll never notice as they don't come by to check on me." That was correct - his absence was not noticed. He said many residents had complaints about the lack of attention. He thought the meals were ok but "not great". I had trouble getting assistance when I needed it. The front desk was rarely manned as they shared an admin with another building. I had to hunt staff down in the halls, who often responded "that's not my area, and <name> that handles that is out." Staff members appeared hassled when asked to assist.

The facility itself was very nice. It was large and housed many residents but we only saw one resident out and about. It just didn't have a home like atmosphere.

I toured this community and wasn't impressed. It just felt dark and quiet, sad. It was clean, but didn't have an overall pleasant smell. The staff was nice. There's definitely not enough light. Not an option that we considered for our loved one.

It was a nice place. The rooms were small and it was a further distance from my home.

Don't believe everything the sales person tells you. She promised us the world and then disappeared when things weren't as she promised. Initially I felt I was sold a bill of goods that did not come to fruition until after three months of many conversations and zoom meeting. Things have improved in the last month. They've hired a new resident director, who I do feel is communicating and trying. Its slow progress, and I'm trying to be hopeful that things will continue to get better. My loved one is okay with the food. And overall she's adjusting. She enjoys the activities. It's the perfect size for her - not too big, and not too small. Progress is definitely being made, and we'll see how things go in the future.

It takes a period of time for the new resident and the family to get settled in - be prepared for that. They were losing my loved one's laundry at first, and she would be sitting in urine. Sometimes the whole place would smell like urine. They seemed to be irritated with me because I questioned some things. Despite being irritated with me, they've made positive changes in those areas. Some of the staff are really friendly and awesome. Upper management not so much. Unless they're trying to get you to sign up - then they're all over you. But the activities people rock. Sometimes my loved one doesn't want to join in, but once they convince her to, she has a blast. The residents are fun. They all wave and say hi when I come in. And the food is really good.

I think they have a great range of activities and outings. My mother's biggest concern is that the food seems to be frozen, preheated food that often comes cold, or the items on the menu are not available and/or are missing ingredients - for instance, blueberry pancakes without blueberries. So she is spending money getting meals elsewhere that she finds more enjoyable, even though we're paying for two meals a day as part of her contract. The front desk staff are very friendly. The cleaning staff tends to not have good attention to detail. And we really have not seen any of the administrators since our first tour.

River Oaks was my Grandmother's home for about 8 years. If your loved one is independent; if they are able to speak up for themselves when medication is late; if they can skip a meal here or there because their meal wasn't delivered; if you have cameras in the room to monitor and save recordings; if your expectations aren't too high; if you expect only some of the care plan expectations to be followed; if 24 hour nurse means by phone is acceptable; if long delays or no response from their call button is okay, then River Oaks might be for you. You might wonder why we stayed. Grandmother liked her large room, her huge closet, her friends there, playing Bridge, and she simply didn't want to have to move. Most of the permanent caregivers were kind and helpful. It's difficult to rate this facility because of director changing every 9 to 12 months. Each change led to the hope of seeing improvements. River Oaks is by far not the worst place to live, nor is it the best. No place is perfect.

We toured The Landing of Southampton and it was just too sanitary, we were looking for something cozy. There were too many things going on and they forced activities on the residents. It is also in a terrible location. It is off of Street Road and you would never want to make a left out of there. It is a very busy road and a lot of construction is going on. They had different levels of care and I did not really understand what the extra care was going to do for my loved ones because they did not need half of the things they were saying we needed.

Our family had an in person tour and the tour experience was just okay

They were not totally honest. They signed our loved one in and did not tell us they were in the middle of a lock down. He was there less than two weeks.

If your loved one only needs minimal care, this would be a good place. If your loved one needs additional medical support I wouldn't recommend the community. They weren't able to provide the medication management, dressing, feeding, and bathing assistance that my loved one needed. I paid extra for extra services my loved one needed. The first week was great. The second week they didn't have enough staff and then there was COVID in the community. My loved one needed assistance with cutting the food, and this wasn't happening. I had a staff member that stated that my loved one was too far from the nurses and aides. The new nurse manager in memory care was concerned they wouldn't be able to care for my loved one. They didn't have staff to take care of the laundry and ended up taking laundry home to do it. I found dirty sheets and linens in the process of reviewing my loved one's room. The community held me to the 30-day clause since I decided I didn't want my loved one to stay since they didn't have enough staff to take care of my loved one.

Good community, didn't have a warm feeling and felt more like a number to me during the tour.

We toured with Rivermont and the reason we did not pick this facility was because the rooms did not have kitchenettes. There was no microwave, fridge or sink. If my loved one wanted to get a drink in the middle of the night she would have to call someone or drink out of the sink in the bathroom. The closets were also extremely small.
