A Place For Mom was a godsend at a point where I did not know where to turn. Sunrise, I still believe is one of the best facilities around, even though some of the ratings are a three, which is average. I think many of the facilities are below average. The staff was friendly and responsive, however, they were often like so many short-staffed or ill trained. I was very involved with my dad's care, but they seemed to welcome that and allowed my involvement which is good. Sunrise seemed to be a good place for my dad in many ways. He had recently lost his wife of 69 years but, the love and caring and concern for his personal well-being and his story was tremendous. Sunrise valued him as a person and, Empowered him to be somewhat independent. Instead of being in bed or in his recliner, all of the time They encouraged him to move about the facility, using his feet in the walker! They were always eyes to make sure that this was safe, but, it not only improved his mental health, but his physical health in circulation as well. When I first walked into the facility, it felt like a home. There was a piano that was often played by residents, or guests, and a resident dog! I was permitted to bring my dog to see my dad every day. That brought joy to many people. There was not an institutional feel or an institutional smell. The third-floor patio/deck and the outside walking paths with flowers and birds were a bonus. Without exception, the team members cared about the residence. Each team member had their own job and responsibility but, would not hesitate to get assistance for a residence need, comfort, or happiness. I am grateful to have found Sunrise.

Everything at the Windsor of Venice is good. I do think it would be helpful if they offered a new comers club, it would be a great idea. Residents could get better signage on where things are in the building from the other residents. Other than that everything has been good! The staff here are excellent and I would absolutely recommend The Windsor.

The tour was nice, but after being at another community and so disappointed in what happened to us that it caused us to have doubts by the beauty instead of the care.

My mother in law did not want to go but it was necessary. Her room was nice as were the hallways and dining area. She did not like the food. We were told it would be done by a chef by it was simple food. The nurses were kind and did what they could as they were short staffed. We eventually moved her back to her home with full time care. She was home for about a month when she passed.

Few residents are independent. Mostly, it's just less organized than community we came from. Very little communications with families. Price hike was 15% after 6 months in 2023.

I am happy that Sunrise of University Park is a very secure facility. In most areas they do quite well, but I have heard so many complaints about the food. I think they need more variety when it comes to the food menu. I would recommend Sunrise University Park to others looking. I am very thankful that my mother-in-law is safe now.

Overall the facility is beautiful and well maintained. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The staff is friendly, helpful, and responsive most of the time. There are really no improvements they could make on the food that I can think of off the top of my head. It is just food, nothing outstanding. I guess since the dining hall is so nice that our expectations is that the food quality would match it, that's all.

We picked this community, because it was one of the recommended sites from APFM, proximity and the kindness of [name removed](Marketing Director) It's a beautiful place and that there are some good people there but there are also some staff who are there only for the paycheck. There is a great nurse there by the name of [name removed] but that there are also some aides who sit around during the night shift and don't like to be bothered by a higher maintenance resident.

It is one of the better community's we visited. As with any facility, there has been significant staff turn over, which leads to inconsistance of process and rules. No assisted living place will be perfect for everyone. I would recommend to other families.

Food is not great and activities seem redundant.... They need a plan of action to incorporate new residents during their first few weeks. Have all staff and residents wear a name tag or lanyard. Another suggestion, update landscaping, get rid of dead bushes, plant new bushes, flowers, ground cover and mulch in front sides and in back.

When I first visited there seemed to be plenty of staff and all were friendly and talkative. Since that time there have been some staffing issues that have made me very uneasy. While there is an interim director now in place, the other issues have me concerned. I will say that [name removed]is marvelous and we have been very pleased with her assistance from day one! She was even assisting with serving dinner when the kitchen staff quit which is not something I would expect a sales director to do. She goes above and beyond!

The staff caring directly for the residents are kind, courteous, and caring. We picked this community because they had a space available at the time of our need. And it was in [name removed] which was important to my sister-in-law.

It was a positive experience and I would definitely recommend. We picked this community ,because of mainly the location to our home and friendly staff. Thank you for all your help with finding a place for her. It was so great to not have to try and find all of those places on my own.

They could improve on the billing process. The food could be improved, and the dining area could be upgraded. They have a swimming pool, and transportation, which is great. I picked this community because it was top of the line compared to other places. I would recommend to others if they improve with the staff.

We toured with StoneCreek of Edmond and the facility was very nice, but too far away for our needs. It has a smaller feel and the décor is modest.

Our family had an in person tour with The Windsor of Lawrence and we thought the community was absolutely beautiful, but it was just going to be way to expensive for our loved one to go there

We toured Legend of Lititz and it's a very nice facility. The staff was very nice, also. The rooms that we were shown were clean, the staff was great, and the tour was professional and very informative. Ultimately, we chose a different facility but my loved one would have been very well cared for here at this facility.

We have had a very good experience with Rivermont Independent Living. What we really like about this community is just how friendly and attentive the staff members are. They have a lot of activities and the local amenities are easily accessible. Based on the experience we have had so far we would definitely recommend this community to other families.

The tour of Sunrise of Lenexa was nice. The rooms were much smaller than we wanted for our loved one and the cost was higher than another community in the area.
