Nice staff. I only saw one nurse for all the residents during the tour, and this was concerning to me.

I toured The Willow and I didn't really care for it. They didn't make a lasting impression. We chose another community because The Willow just wasn't a good fit for my mom.

Up until the middle of December, I would have given them an overall rating of 5/5. The staff was very kind and very giving. They were always upbeat. There were a lot of activities for the residents. I felt they were all well cared for. The place was clean and neat. However, in mid-December I received a call from their Executive Director. And I will never forget what he said to me. "Your sister needs to be out of here today. You either remove her today, or I'm going to transfer her to our sister facility in North Wales." I could have understood if instead he had said something like "This isn't working. She needs more care than we can provide. Could you find something else by the end of the month?" But that's not how he chose to handle it. The staff aside from him were wonderful, but in any company, the image starts at the top and trickles down. That was my experience with him, and I would not recommend Amity Place to anybody.

This community was very clinical. My loved one felt like he was in a hospital and we knew that this would not be the right place for our loved one.

They did a very poor job of showing us around for the tour. The activity board that they had was not updated, in fact it was about 3 months old. The residents were all just sitting around in their wheelchairs. The facility itself looked very dated and also had an odor to it. We knew this was not the right fit

It felt depressing and seemed dare to me. However, the staff were friendly.

The food is terrible. The community expects all residents to go to the dining room. If I could I would move somewhere else, as it isn't what I thought it would be.

There have been significant changes in the management governing this facility. A year ago I would have highly recommended this facility, but I can no longer do that. I regret my decision. The facility is only as good as its leadership and poor management affects the morale of staff and residents. This facility has become stressed under the new leadership from the way the phone is answered all the way through care plans. If you are reading this, you are getting ready to make a huge decision. The stress doesn't end with placement of your loved one. If your loved one becomes angry and distanced from you, you are depending on the people to keep you informed. I hope to be able to say good things about this facility again if management is improved.

The price is better than most places that we looked at. The food is not good and we have had issues with the management and we have to prove when we paid the bills because they will double bill us. When she moved in it took them 2 months for someone to come in and clean the room because they forgot that she was there so we have had issues with the cleaning staff as well.

We were a little bit misled before moving in. My loved one is physically impaired but really sharp mentally. We were assured there were people on his cognitive level there, but a lot of the residents are just asleep in their wheelchairs. And I believe that's been a big factor contributing to his decline. It's primarily female there, about 99%. If you're counting on the nursing staff to pay attention, they don't. You have to bring everything to their attention. For example, one day I got a phone call asking if I could bring my loved one another pair of shoes because his legs were so swollen they couldn't get his shoes on. It's like it didn't occur to them to talk about why his legs are so swollen instead of just buying bigger shoes. When I saw him, he was swollen up past his knees. It was pretty bad. He Liked the food in the beginning, but now it's the same stuff over and over again. He's not really thrilled with it. I think we're paying a lot without much assistance for daily living, so it's very expensive.

Beautiful building, historic mansion. My father lives on the 2nd floor, floor Is dated. After huge turn over with management, building has been sub par. Facility lost their activity supervisor months ago and everything has gone to the wayside since then. Trips used to occur frequently under old activities supervisor. No trips since her departure. Management always seems to “hide” and are not available.

Not what we were looking for plus very over priced.

Management will make any promise you want to get you to move in. The head nurse, [Name removed], is a bully. The GM [Name removed] is weak. They raised the price 7.5% after six months. They made us have a sitter 7 hours per day, 7 days a week because client was a "fall risk". Very inconsistent, because other clients have similar needs, yet no one else has been REQUIRED to have a sitter. High turnover in staff, and some have bad attitudes. Virtually no real management in the dementia unit. Their many promises are soon forgotten.

Poor quality of facilities and small. No parking. Staff was disorganized and not ready for our visit. Staff was dismissive of residents.

My mother was only at this community for a short period of time before she had to leave due to her health problems that had came up. I will say that I am a little upset on the lack of compassion the management had when she left and that they did not follow up with us at all to see how she was doing. I would think they would want to make sure she was okay and that things where going better for her.

I toured the facility. My wife needed a secured dementia unit. The Memory care unit is suppose to be new. It is not. The dining room is in the middle of the unit. There is no separate activity area, The marketer seemed to not know what she was doing. She had no clue what to charge me. She kept calling someone at another place for costs. The office manager kept rolling her eyes and slamming things around. I was told that is my wife moved in I could not visit her for up to two weeks. Why would I do that. Needless to say I decided the place was not suitable for my wife.

My relative became aggressive and did not fit into the community so he was asked not to stay any longer. The staff did not seem to like residents that are out of the norm and seemed to not try to maintain his dementia. I have not been able to get any of my calls returned. Otherwise I am sure he was feed well and was living in a clean environment. I appreciate Susan, from A Place For Mom, for helping find new arrangements.

The scenery is pretty. When you walk in there is a very nice fish tank. The staff seemed nice enough. We toured the building and for the most part the building is clean enough. My Aunt is in need of a secured unit. The Memory care unit is very small. There is not a separate dining or activity area. There seemed to be some confusion on the prices. The marketer wanted us to agree to a room that day. We decided to not move my aunt in. We decided on an other facility.

My first impression of Heritage of Dover was that the community did not feel like home. The staff were very kind and addressed all of my concerns. The community was clean throughout. The feel I got from the community just made me feel like I wouldn't want to live there. This was not the place for my wife.

My Mother was a resident at The Village. They could not keep staff. They went through management like water. There were always mistakes on my Mom's bill. We were told one price for the room then 5 months later we were called by the marketer and told that the room rate is going to be raised and they need another contract signed. The food was more like fast food. We moved Mom out. We did not trust her care to them because of the high turn around of staff and management.
