I would not recommend Harmony on the Peninsula. In the past few years that my mother has been there, they have gone through a dozen executive directors and as many if not more nurse directors. They had an excellent director in 2024 but the staff ran her out before a year! I heard she retired...good for her. She was holding the staff accountable and they hated her. The food is awful, and the business office never calls you back. She is too busy reading at the front desk or gossiping with the staff to answer a voice mail. Activities is a joke and very childlike. The same thing over and over. I am posting reviews where I can to prevent others from making the mistake that I did. I visit daily and only see leadership on Family Night.

Not enough workers to prepare the meal take orders for the meal and properly serve the meal. This needs to be addressed I can see this has been going on for a LONG time since there is no official director but a full in. Memory care are served meat that they cannot cut There is not condiments available and if you ask for it you never get it by the time your finished eating and your food is cold Please hire more cafeteria workers because you don’t have a restaurant style dining room and fast food would be more appealing Come on Harmony y’all can do better than this address this issue and fix it! There are only 2 individuals taken orders and one of them sits at the table with the residents and enjoys herself instead of speedily taking orders and the residents say she messes up the orders she does take the other individuals taking orders is standing up and moving quickly [removed name] sitting No management or supervision is occurring in the main dining room please assess your workers

After touring the facility, spending hours completing the paperwork and returning it within a day, being told they were sending someone the next day to evaluate my Mother and that if they felt her care was more than they could provide would give us a few recommendations for a more skilled facility, we were extremely excited. Not only did they NOT show up to evaluate her, they didn’t call to inform us and didn’t return any of our calls. An entire week later, they called to let us know that they had just gotten through the paperwork and were sending someone the next day. After a week of zero communication, we went with another facility. Oh and the best part, the Sales Director admitted when he finally called that they couldn’t have supplied the kind of care he thought she needed. Communication is huge when it comes to the care and safety of our loved ones, and Harmony showed that their communication is just nonexistent.

I honestly don't even want to think about that place. From the outside it looks like a nicely run place but it's not. My dad wasn't the easiest the handle. He was getting mean with his dementia. There were also family problems. Two of my siblings wanted him home. My mom and the rest of us knew we couldn't care for him. We argued a few times there. The day we found out he only had a couple days to live, my sisters who wanted him at home got very upset and lunged at my other sister and I. It was inside my dads room. It didn't go further than that. [name removed], the manager was called by an employee who was outside of the room. She decided to call the police. We were kicked out and barred from there. We couldn't even be with my dad when he died. They wouldn't even let me come back in to clean out his room. I had to have my husband do it while I stood outside his window directing what to take. Needless to say, we shouldn't have been arguing and my siblings who didn't agree with him being there did give them a hard time. But what they gave them a hard time about were legitimate things. He was left in his spoiled diaper way too long. His toilet and potty chair was hardly ever cleaned. They emptied garbage but rarely cleaned or swept the floor. They left wet soiled clothes in his hamper for days. We were in such a stressful time and knew he didn't have much time left, we didn't want to uproot him to another place and go through all of that. It was a mess. I can't even drive past that place.

Harmony at Reynolds Mountain was a horrible experience. I had to report them to the state on several occasions, and mom is no longer living there. She received terrible care, meds were mismanaged, and the staff was unresponsive at every level.

They raised the price after 6 months after promising me it was good for a year and I had it in writing. No one in the office ever returns a phone call and because I choose to pay by check I'm charged an extra 50 dollars a month. Medical staff is good and so are the direct care staff. No complaints with them

Mom moved into independent living and loved her apt. Cleaning was not done on a regular basis like they said it would be. That we could live with, but she moved to asst living down the hall in July after a fall and 100 days of rehab. The directors of Harmony assessed her as needing top level care because she had a broken pelvic bone (after rehab) and in a wheelchair until it healed. The care was unacceptable almost nonexistent. They had two girls per shift for over 25 people. After 3 weeks without giving her a shower in the shower, along with a long list of complaints, we decided to move her to a private, smaller place near our home where the care is much better. She loves this small place and often says the people at Harmony left her in her dark studio room most of the day. I went daily and many times found her sitting in the room with no hearing aids in, no partials in her mouth and blinds closed, lights off. When I complained I was told they were in transition stage. When I gave notice, they lied about giving her showers. My mom has all her mental faculties and she told me what happened. I don't recommend Harmony. I was warned about it from my neighbor whose mother was in their memory care. She too was not cared for.

My parent was at this facility and from the top down they are don’t give [removed] about the patients. Phones ring and ring, stations go unmanned and when you do see someone they either ignore you or they say they will get on it but never do. Food is disgusting. Do not let your family member reside here.

They were the worst! Other families should avoid it, at all costs.

Hardly ever saw the staff, activities were very few and hardly anyone attended. As far as dining they either ran out of food, food cold, or not cooked. When I was leaving was when I found out that I had to give them 3 months notice. Here it's only 1 month. It's a shame because it's a beautiful building and the BEST FEATURE was that each apartment had their own washer and dryer!

They failed to provide the physical therapy that was needed to allow my loved one to return home. After numerous attempts they performed on 5 or 6 sessions and then stopped with no notification. When confronted for their failure, they said that it was denied by Medicare. After contacting Medicare we found out they only requested approval for six sessions. No other request had been submitted to Medicare for approval and no physical therapy request had ever been denied. Their greed for revenue turned out costing my loved one deterioration in her physical capability and ended up with her back in the hospital. I would never put any loved one into Harmony House their greed for revenue is their only objective and care for their residents is not even on their radar screen. Horrible, unacceptable and unforgivable!

0 out of 5 stars, or however many stars you choose, absolutely not. Harmony’s building may look nice, but the care doesn’t match. Families can be misled about what’s included, and residents who need more than basic care struggle to get consistent help from staff and the in-house doctor. Extra charges add up quickly, and some staff treat residents more like burdens than valued individuals. If your loved one needs more intensive care, I recommend exploring other options.

My friend was moved from a rehab to Harmony at West Shore assisted living after a hospital stay and rehab. She was rejected at all assisted living places because they said she needed much more care than assisted living. She could not stand, get out of bed, feed herself, but they took her, I fear, because they had many empty rooms. She had almost all meals delivered at a cost of 15 dollars a meal. She could not feed herself and at times the aides said, "it is not my job to feed her." I must stay that the aides and nurses were most kind and compassionate, but they too felt she should not be in assisted living. The sales staff and person who evaluated her did not answer calls or texts and after. a month an a half, we were told she needed much more help and was sent to a rehab for PT, OT and Sp T...after two weeks there she is now at Hospice. Harmony is a beautiful facility but they took her, when they could not take care of her, to make money. text an phone communication is awful

My mother has lived at Harmony for 6 years, and we have never complained until now. The latest executive director will get rid of staff or families who dare to complain about her non-compliance with DHEC regulations. I have to clean the outside of my Mother's toilet. Staff is instructed to not talk to families even with positive messages. Staff is discouraged from going the extra mile for residents. I have always conducted myself in a professional manner but yet today I was trespassed from seeing my own mother with no explanation from Harmony or the police. Good luck in finding out what is included in each level of care and how much you are charged. If you care about your family member do not take them to Harmony.

I think it's a nice place if the person doesn't need much personal care. They charged for more for personal care and I don't think they had enough people to provide it. One month was too much so we left to a real nursing home and it's much better.

my [price removed] to buy into that community and the lies I left and lost my [price removed] they trick me into buying into the community full of lies. I wish you'll hadn't of recommended this rental company and the association with them. After 30 days the won't give money refund and they make it to that point then pull the rug. I could have taken to landlord tenants court and win but my health is more important right now and fighting right now my kill me so I had to leave it was deteriorating my health. Not a handicapped friendly place.

I would NOT recommend. Paid a lot of money for services that we didn't get and they didn't care. Aides weren't trained and food was horrible.

They said all the right things but after seeing the issues in both handbook and lease agreement I had no faith that they would be able to adjust their policies to take care of my issues and reasons that were the most important needs for me I backed out. Costly error on my part. Now 6 months later got $[fee removed] statement with a highlighted sentence that not paid in 5 days I will get charged another $[fee removed]. Seven calls to business office over 6 days have not been answered. Called corporate yesterday to corporate office yesterday also unanswered. I’m completely out of any ideas on how to resolve this as I don’t believe I owe them anything or that any one’s calls are not being responded to. This an unacceptable way of doing business. It looks pretty. They say all the right things but be very very careful.

My mother needed care and we were charged for the highest level of care. In general communication of needs and care instructions was terrible. Some individuals were clearly more capable and compassionate than others. But generally I found my mother was left alone and not given even a minimal amount of care and attention. My mother was only there for two months and I consider my choice a huge mistake. When she died I was actively seeking a personal nurse and trying to make arrangements to bring her home. I was also spending much of my time there because I had no confidence in all but a few of the staff.

The administrative staff has terrible communication with residents. The food is awful, the cleanliness is mediocre at best, takes forever to get a repair taken care of. Definitely not worth what the residents pay!
