I went on a tour here and it was OK. The lighting was really bad and it made it feel the coldness. The furnishing is sparing and just not a homey feeling. I just saw all the residents lined up to get their medicine. I didn't like that. I recommend families tour as many places as they can before they make a choice.

The initial tour and marketing brochure were impressive, and I liked the small size of the facility. However, upon having my mother move in, I have discovered most residents spent most of their time privately in their own rooms/apts. Activities are on the calendar, but are repetitive in nature. The meals in the dining room are adequate at best, i.e., a cheese omelet for dinner was not freshly prepared, but was obviously frozen. So was the hard biscuit that was served with it. My mom only enjoyed the apples that evening. Chef prepared? Not! Now that I have placed my loved one here and paid the sizeable up front fees that are nonrefundable, it's not feasible to re-locate her at this time. She isn't happy, so neither am I!

Management is horrible, the community it self is great for loved ones. Turn over all the time and always short staffed.

I don't like the idea that my husband is only showered twice a week when he's incontinent. Things are missing from his room

The facility itself is beautiful, the rooms are spacious, and there have been individual staff members who have been kind and caring toward my mother. Unfortunately, the overall experience has not matched the level of care or programming that was presented to us before move-in, especially considering the cost of nearly $[removed]per month. Our biggest concerns have been cleanliness, communication, safety, and activities. We have repeatedly found my mother’s room and bathroom in unacceptable condition, including overflowing trash, dirty floors and bathroom surfaces, soiled towels and bath mats, and even water damage/mold concerns that required our family to clean and address ourselves. We have also had serious safety concerns, including multiple elopement incidents in a single day without our family being notified at the time. Communication has been inconsistent, and there have been occasions when we learned about significant issues after the fact rather than being contacted proactively. We were also initially very excited about the activity programming that was described during the sales process, but in practice we have frequently found residents sitting in front of the television with far fewer meaningful activities than we expected. Staff members are often seen staring at their phone screens while residents wander hallways. There are certainly staff members who care and are doing their best, and my mother has adjusted better than we anticipated in some ways. However, for a memory care community charging at this level, I believe families should be able to expect consistent cleanliness, meaningful engagement, strong communication, and extremely careful attention to resident safety. Those areas have unfortunately been inconsistent enough that I could not give a higher rating.

2 stars overall. Med tech and aides are good. There is no exec director right now. Director of health is not responsive to phone calls or emails. My father spent almost 2 weeks in hospital/rehab and techs/aides were not notified he was coming back by dir of health. His shower was covered in black mold. Laundry is done sporadically. Food quality has deteriorated over the past year.

I'll start with the good. We had toured a number of facilities in our price range and landed on Harmony for a few reasons: 1. The sales director who gave me the tour was great. She seemed knowledgeable in senior care but more importantly, she listened and validated our concerns.; 2. The gym. My dad is relatively high functioning despite his diagnosis and working out was really important to him. Not all facilities have a gym and it was one of the main selling points for us personally.; 3. The furnishings and design were a lot more contemporary than other places. My dad is 79 but does not appreciate mid-century design and prefers newer looking spaces. The room and building design helped him not feel like he was in an "old people's home" but just a nice apartment while he saw some doctors. Unfortunately the pros were not enough to outweigh the cons. We quickly learned that staff was not as knowledgeable about dementia as we previously thought, and that even though we were told that residents in Assisted Living could stay with dementia and not need to immediately go to memory care- we realized he declined while there because of the lack of dementia-specific care. While there, my dad managed to isolate himself almost entirely, skipped meals, lost weight, refused medications, and became increasingly paranoid and agitated. We were often able to calm him down when we visited, but then something would trigger him and he would become upset for a while. Usually this was during meds, when the staff would not help ease my dad's anxiety about the medication. He could not remember what he was taking or why, and instead of offering a gentle explanation (even if not a truthful one) they would treat him as defiant and become inpatient with him. He was terrified that he was being given drugs to pacify him or reduce his abilities. If staff had been able to better ease his paranoia around this by providing medication in a warm and gentle way, it may have prevented some of his out bursts. Shortly before leaving, we discovered that my dad had intentionally cut himself on three spots on his wrists- something that was new behavior for him. I was the first to notice the cuts and felt that the staff did not want to record this as self harm or potential suicidality to try to avoid doing more work to document and ensure his safety. We ended up hospitalizing him where he was admitted and discharged to a different facility at a higher level of care. I have so many issues with how Harmony failed our dad. I am grateful he's in a a new place and getting more direct attention. I really want other families to know that from our experience I would not recommend Harmony's assisted living for those with moderate stage dementia or who have a history of psychological disorders.

They're a newer facility, so they're still ironing out a lot of their communication and process gaps. Most of the staff are very friendly and willing to help. They had awful directors in place prior, so they weren't getting the leadership they needed to be successful, and to ensure the families were being kept in the loop proactively to feel confident in their family member's status/care.

They are always short handed, made some mistakes on medication and do not handle your love ones with care often seems as though they are not trained

The staff is friendly but I had to ask them to do things they should have taken care of.

I am not satisfied with them. The facility is beautiful and looks very nice, but the care and communication are not good. Things aren’t explained clearly, and it can be hard to get updates or feel like concerns are being heard. Overall, while the place looks great, the actual experience with care and communication has been disappointing.

Terrible communication between caregivers and families. Very difficult to get in touch with the floor at any given time.

Facility is great. Room and food are great. But little care. Found my mom on the floor after several hours and they hadn't even checked on her. Billing is a nightmare. No one in the business office has a clue. I would never recommend this place and we have since moved her out.

Mom’s been at Harmony of Southridge for a year. Recently her oven wasn't working. After having it checked twice they decided to get her a new one. Few days ago they delivered/installed a filthy used stove which took me 2 hrs to clean. I have complained/asked 3 different x to speak with someone.They messaged the maintenance supervisor to s/w me but he never came to the apt. Also, I would say that the carpet in her apt is the original & cheap because when I run her sweeper the only thing coming up is a canister full of carpet fibers. Also disappointed that they didn't keep the sidewalks cleaned during the snow/ice storm this yr which was very dangerous for my mom to walk on when she would take her dog out the use the BR (yard is always disgusting of dog poop even though everyone is supposed to clean up after their dogs). These are just a few recent problems. I feel that they don't mind taking your rent $ (raises every yr) but they don’t want to spend $ to fix/maintain the apts/facility.

Their care is terrible and I would not recommend someone sending their family members there. My loved ones room has roaches everywhere. We had several trips to the hospital after supposedly falling several times and escaped the so called locked unit.

The staff who work the nurses station on my floor. Are quick to tell you what they don't do. I fell and I waited 30 for someone to come and I pushed the button on my pendent. I am not thrilled with this place. You don't really know til you live there. You might leave your name on other lists just in case where you chose does not work out.

My father-in-law went there in the spring of 24 and we had to move him out by the end of the year. When we first got there the place was pretty good but soon thereafter there was a change in administration and the new people got rid of all the good workers. When we first got there half the people work their butts off and were super nice and the other half were lazy and rude. When the new Administration came along they got rid of all the nice people who worked hard and kept the lazy and the rude people. By the end of 24, at least in the Assisted Living section. The care was abysmal and the people there could not care less about anybody or anything. Assuming the administration is the same today as it was a year ago I would not recommend this place for anyone, at least Assisted Living. People in independent living seemed a little happier. At the Assisted Living in there was a complete lack of any care and if you didn't take care of your own nothing would happen. They were so bad at the end, the state should have shut them down. It was all aspects of care not just an isolated section.

Intake was great everything else was lacking. They could improve on everything. My father fell on a daily basis which led to several hospital stays.

What we think they could improve on would be the nursing staff, there is incompetent. They could also check to make sure residents who need help are fed

Staff management. They call out a lot and when there they don't work hardly. They are always short staffed and residents do not get the assistance they pay so much money for. . I would not recommend this place to anyone.
