If I could give them all zero... I would. Do not trust [name removed]. They forced us to pay for 24 hour care for my father in law because he had diarrhea and they were afraid he was going to fall. We paid around $[removed] extra to caregivers for 4-5 weeks before we could get him the hell out of there. Would not recommended to people if they don't want to have to move somewhere else sooner or later.

The center has extremely high leadership turnover. A staff member told me that they had at least 8 Executive Directors in the last 4 years. You never see leadership unless you go to "Family Night" then you can see them for about an hour...going to each table. I hear cursing from staff a lot when I am visiting my Dad.  Also, staff do not wash hands and look sloppy...not professional. I have to beg them to shave my Dad and clean his fingernails.  The Activity Department is a joke.  The activities are for babies not adults.  I never get a return call when I leave a message.  I am thinking about moving my Dad.  It is poorly run.

Harmony at West Shore was a terrible experience for my mother. I moved her out after 9 months. Friendliness- depended on who I interacted with. Harmony should be shut down completely.

They need to hire more staff. I don't have many good things to say.

Mom never went into the facility, and I'm still fighting them over a year later to get my money back as per their contract. I only dealt with the faculty as my mother took a severe downturn two days after I took possession of the room at Harmony and mom was not able to leave her other facility. They were friendly enough until I canceled things and then the nurse on hand said that I will not get that money back. It was almost $[fee removed] I gave them.

Often times they would sit her in her wheelchair in the dining room at meal time and just let her sit there even though she needed help with picking things up. Then they would take her back to her room with no food. One time a worker was throwing away flowers in her room that had died. She dropped some of the dead flowers on the floor and spilled some of the water. It was still there two weeks later when I was able to go back and visit. It had been left there and walked on for two weeks.

Where to begin!!! First move in day AC was broke and we were delayed to move in. Then, a few months had heavy rain and we had leaks. BAD LEAKS in the bathroom and kitchen ceiling. Needed at least 6 oversized beach towels to soak up all the water. Also, had to worry about slipping and falling. Elevators are always broke. Fire alarms always go off for no reason. Then, last summer more leaks. This time entire bathroom ceiling had to be cut out and mold issues had to be taken care of. This took MONTHS of me riding managements ASS to get something done. The problem is you start to talk to one director and they take the info. And now they quit. So you tell the water and mold story all over again and again and again!!! They have had at least 10-13 directors in 1.5 years. Now we have an AC problem since the beginning of last summer and STILL HAS NOT BEEN FIXED! We were told all last year they are waiting on parts. They keep increasing the rent and the apartments suck with problems.

My mother was at Harmony for 17 months. As her dementia got worse they began documenting it as “bad behavior issues” and eventually kicked her out. They considered her crying to be a behavior issue. In the end they were cold and uncaring and very unprofessional. Their staff are not equipped or trained to handle memory care/dementia, especially [name removed]. I witnessed her be mean and unprofessional wirh residents in their facility. And, when I brought it to their attention they did nothing. If your loved one needs any assistance/support I would highly recommend you look elsewhere.

They were horrible. The facility is new and so very clean, but due to the issues with his meds sent him to hospital on a couple of occasions. I would not recommend them to anyone. When I visited I found medicine that should have been filled 30 days prior, a blood pressure pill on the floor. We paid for them to handle meds and they did it poorly could have killed him.

The staff is lazy and rude. There is no plan for orienting new residents. Our father was ignored and allowed to wander all over the building half clothed. Eventually, he escaped and we found him hours later on a golf course. There was no real apology and most of the staff could not have possibly cared less. We moved our father out that day, and by that point most of his belongings had been lost. He was only there one week. I cannot recommend against this facility enough. Please do not ever place anyone there again. We heard many more stories after he moved to a different facility and other residents continued to do so after he moved.

Turn over of Management and staff is a huge problem. I can't understand why they can't keep people. My Mother has gotten to the point she doesn't ever leave her room. Why are your employees leaving you? These are well paid employees that have no answers and blame everything on" corporate " someone has to take ownership and have a skip level meeting, get some answers. Hopefully this gets bubbled up to the higher ups.

The building has major HVAC problems. Many residents had no working air conditioning during summer months. Still no repair. No heat in a few apartments still. Hot water issues. Flooding in apartments related to clogged shower drains ( construction related). And air conditioning units. Very low water pressure on 4th floor apartments elevators are not clean. Lights are out. Carpet in lobby and on floors are stained and filthy. Major food and food service issues. Staffing problems from Administrative dept., Maintenance, Food service and Housekeeping!!!

We only stayed at Harmony for one year, because we were very dissatisfied with the management, maintenance and the food service.

This place does not truly honor continuous care. If your relative’s health declines, this place will push them out very quickly. They do not have adequate nursing staff and there is lots of turnover within the nurses and techs offering care. There is dishonesty from the top down and a lack of empathy and respect for both the client and respective family.

My dad entered as an Assisted living patient. Within days he went to memory care. This was highly suggested by the Healthcare Director. He is a fall risk so memory care seemed understandable to a certain extent. Well he has gone to ER 3xs bc of falling. One was this past Friday. He was left in his wheelchair unattended knowing he is a fall risk. He wanted to go to sleep so he attempted to get back in bed. Two nice size lumps on his head and a large lesion on his left thigh that no one could explain how that happened. It was not cleaned out and it was left open. He also is on a blood thinner. Let’s go back a few weeks. I go to visit my dad and usually his door is open all the time. This Saturday evening it was not, in fact it was locked. I looked around and there was my dad randomly sitting in his wheel chair in a hallway all by himself. He looked at his nurse and said you locked me out. She laughed him off like he was the crazy person. Next, I go visit my dad on a Wednesday evening

Harmony at Martinsburg evicted my mother when she began to manifest signs of dementia, instead of transitioning her to their memory care unit, which was the declared and acknowledged intention when she moved in 6+ years ago. While I worked to relocate my mother to a new facility, communication from the Harmony at Martinsburg director was unreliable, cold, and unprofessional. The director also refused a request to meet in person so we could discuss my mother’s care and I could provide an update on my efforts to find my mother a new home. Harmony at Martinsburg was happy to take a substantial amount of my mother’s money every month, until they determined she was no longer worth the effort, and then they threw her out. Had I known then what I know now, I would NEVER have selected Harmony at Martinsburg as a place for my mother.

Our experience with memory care was awful. They were understaffed, inexperienced/not trained in dementia care. There is no support from the upper management. The meds were never administered on time and management was so difficult to get in touch with. There are staff/caregivers that are/were caring and are/were trying their best under difficult conditions

Harmony was bad. We pulled our loved one after 3 months. Not enough staff to handle their patients. Memory care patients brought out of rooms each day to sit like zombies and be easy to keep eyes on. The staff gave more focus to their cell phones than the patients.

The experience was terrible. I would not recommend them to anyone else. My godmother was locked in her room several times when I went to visit. On four occasions, she had fallen in the floor and could not get up. Her hospice nurse was also a witness to this. One of those times she had been trying to go to the bathroom so she had soiled herself and the nurse techs had to clean her and they were not gentle. She contracted Covid and when I called to ask how she was doing (since I wasn't allowed to visit) I was put to voicemail three times. I witnessed a nurse tech throw her shoe across the room in a fit of anger at a resident. Upon further investigation, I find that they have been sued five times in Richland County since [date removed] for wrongful death and medical malpractice.

Staff is friendly but sometimes take a long time to respond to resident call buttons or billing inquiries. The turnover at the Director level is terrible, and appears to trickle down into staffing issue. Dad has fallen several times and family was not notified. They are unable to accommodate residents with visual disabilities.
