Harmony Senior Services

This is a new community and there are still a lot of empty apts. My mom really likes her apt and she has her furniture all set up so it feels like home. The staff is really friendly and attentive. I have been talking with the director about working on the lack of activities, adding evening events like bingo and cards to help bring the resident out of their apt and get to know one another. My mom likes being active and interacting with her fellow residents. so it has been hard for her to meet others. Mom does enjoy going to the dining room and she likes the food.

The staff here did a very nice job showing us around, and they did take their time to answer all our questions. This is a lovely community and there seem to be a lot of amenities here for their residents, the lay out is nice. We just felt that they were a higher priced compared to some of the other communities we had seen.

I have no complaints about the tour I had taken at this community for my loved one. The staff where friendly and made sure to answer questions we had for them in detail. They had a nice floor plan with lots of great amenities available to all of the residents. It was just not the right budget in the end decision.

The Village on Pheasant Ridge was nice but needed some work. When i was shown the rooms, i noticed they needed a lot of repairs. The flooring in some rooms was lifting and the walls needed repairs. The maintenance could do a better job at cleaning.

This is a brand new beautiful community. It was a little to expensive for us. The staff I met were nice and answered my questions.

It looks great from the outside, and the price seemed better than many others in the area. The food is just ok, and seldom as advertised. My mother's apartment is nice and pretty spacious. Most of the staff are very good-especially [name removed]. They currently do not have a hair salon, so that is something my mother misses. Overall it's pretty clean, though I don't think my mom's apartment has had a deep clean since she moved in. I would recommend it to others, but would do so cautiously.

I toured Harmony and another facility before deciding to have my dad join Harmony. The building has a nice 'home' feel to it. My dad is right down the hall from dining, nurse, front desk, activities all the goodies which I'm grateful for since he can't walk long distance. Everyone I have met have been very pleasant and do seem to listen and care for what I have to say which made me feel so much better under the circumstances. [Name Removed]- LPN, [Name Removed] - Life Enrichment Director (actually gave me the tour), [Name Removed] - Executive Director. I have also met other, but I just can't remember your names right now and for that I'm sorry. We are in the working it out phase and when I do have an issue it's been addressed as of now. It does seem to be some disconnect between staff as to the needs of the residents but I'm hoping this is just a learning curve for all of us. I think all need to be present in the treatment plan meeting to avoid any confusion between staff and resident

I have had issues with billing twice. We have had difficulty with having medicine added to my mother's chart. They've had pest control issues twice. The staff members in the dining hall are nice. They are slow to respond when you ring the bell for memory care.

While the rooms are clean and nice and the food is reasonable, they are severely understaffed. The CNA staff are spread too thin and unable to provide accommodations promised. For example, it is rare for a CNA staff to bring my mom to any activities., they are unaware of the activities and are too busy to assist. I find that I must remind the CNA staff to change her sheets, to do her laundry and give her a shower. The lead CNA is also very unresponsive. The weekend help is almost nonexistent. My mom left her room without her walker. She wobbly walked to the main lobby (100 yards). No one offered any assistance despite her obvious frailty. Harmony lacks a cohesive and attentive staff that is so necessary to give you peace of mind that your loved one is being properly cared for.

Try to talk to some of the residents before signing the final papers. Ask about yearly rent increases. The facility is beautiful and has several amenities

Everything was well for the most part. I got the help and assistance we needed. However, we were using a demo room due to availability. They helped by getting him placed so I wasn't at all upset. The upsetting part was, the services (laundry, housekeeping) didn't help since it was a demo. We knew none of that. When asking for assistance we were told it would be done but never was. He didn't have a tv for almost 3 weeks. He was very bored and depressed due to that. After the tv, and PT started it helped a bit. We chose to extend another 30 days for respite to make a final decision. They offered so many activities he just wouldn't participate. (He lost his wife a few months earlier and didn't want to see "people") no fault of theirs, whatsoever: Upon our final 30 days. We were paid and everything was good. A few months later, I got a collection call stating we owed $[removed]. No explanation they claim they keep switching staff in business office so not sure. Still getting the collection calls.

It is a very nice building, but I don't think the staff is engaged at all. I believe the care is not sufficient. There are numerous times that I have gone there and my loved one and/or their room smells like urine. My loved one hasn't had a haircut since they've been there. Those are just a few of the examples.

If you're looking for independent living, it may work because you can transition. More options. Understaffed.

Making strides to improve on all areas. I looked at several options, this was the best in my price range and where I wished to locate. I'm not happy w rent fees raised 7%! Food has been an issue as well as the dining service but new hires look promising. It's clean, quiet, safe for my dogs which is very important, close but not too close to family & my friends. Staff is friendly & usually helpful. I would recommend it because our options are limited unless you've hit tons of $$$$$$$

We were in a punch and had to find a place for dad with memory care. Harmony had an opening for a male. I would recommend assisted living, it is a beautiful place.

As a result of being understaffed, patients spend much of the day sitting in wheelchairs. Meals are good but unless patients can feed a themselves, they usually don't have time to finish their meals. Overall, The Harmony at Wescott is a good and desirable place for assisted living but for memory care, I would only recommend it if one hires sitters. Patient's rooms are locked at night. This may prevent wandering but it also precludes observation. My wife had bruising which indicated she was roaming about her room at night, possibly falling with no one to know until morning.

The size and set up of the apartments is very nice. The facility itself is lovely, clean and quiet. Food is good and a nice variety. Quality of care specifically would like to see nurses and people who can do some wellness checks. admin office is ok .

Harmony in general is very nice aesthetically. Lots of activities and very active socially. But memory care is sterile, smelly, and sad. Getting in and out of that wing was very frustrating because you have to wait for someone to physically come to the door to let you in. There were many times that I spent 5 to even 10 minutes just waiting at a door both coming and going just to gain access. We had to follow up with front office staff all the time just to get a response. I think we reached out over 4 different times just to get a link to the payment portal. The staff in MC was kind but seemed to often congregate at the nurses desk and just chat rather than be engaged with the residents. Again - it's a HARD place to be, but I really felt that the care was on the slack side. But again - they were kind and they were helpful and it was just a sad time to need that type of care. I don't really know if it would be better elsewhere.

Upper staff is attentive. Staff are kind My mother doesn't participate in them. Food is good and the wait staff want to please We've had roaches and have to wait for them to spray. Most importantly the clinic does not give my mother her medication that was prescribed by her neurologist. We did everything they requested and still after a week still will not give her medication. This is disturbing at the least. The clinic and the pharmacy are not doing their job. We had the same run around with her pain meds. Upper management needs to investigate the clinic.

I'd say it's been both positive and negative. The apartment is "lightly" cleaned, meaning they mop the kitchen and lightly vacuum the living area. They do not vacuum his bedroom at all, and I can't tell if they're cleaning the bathroom and don't think they've entered the bedroom at all. The residents also complain a lot that there is not enough staff, especially in the dining room, and that the food is not overly appealing. Another thing about the dining room, the residents complain it takes a LONG time to have their orders taken, and up to an hour to get their food.
