Clean and friendly staff. I would recommend to others. We have had some small issues but nothing major everybody's always nice to us and mom

This community is "alive" with people that enjoy getting together. Their physical therapist & occupational therapist are wonderful! Their administrative staff also bend over backwards to assist you. As far as their meals, I wouldn't call their food "nutritious" or often "fresh." Their "care" has become better, but I am not at the point where I trust their judgment or decisions... and, isn't this the most important aspect of assisted living?

No one came to check on us on moving day, and I was there from 12 to around 9pm, and there was no information left on how to do things like when meals were served, etc.

Communication with administration/managers was poor. No accountability. Had to constantly advocate for mom because they had things incorrect. The personal care she had was decent, especially people helping in her last two weeks of life.

A 3 rating because housekeeping wasn't consistent (didn't happen weekly as promised, due to staffing shortage) & meals weren't always on time for the same reason. Wait staffing was part of this problem but changes in chefs' also. On occasion, no one was there to cook. Addressed with on-site management, had to take it to the Regional Manager when still not resolved, or received no response we contacted corporate on two or three occasions. Still, staff shortages caused the same problems to keep cropping up. For the rent charged expect exceptional, not mediocre services. Additionally in the almost 2 years my mother was there the on-site management teams turned over four times. It seemed that if there was a good pair they moved them to a larger facility leaving this one with temporary managers and often bringing in inexperienced management. Being assured that things would be corrected by higher management and yet problems continued was the final straw.

The facility was new and clean, but my mom developed terminal cancer and had to go on hospice so they weren't able to use most of the amenities. The management was ok, a lot of back and forth on the accounting side of things .I would recommend the independent living to others. It was ok, not amazing. I don't have experience with the assisted living.

The only thing that I have a problem with is that they gave me a cost of care expenses of 6800 per month then afterwards they charged me [removed] per month, because of an additional charge of $[removed] per meal to be delivered to my mother because she couldn't walk. This wasn't explained to me the day of the signing of the lease.

The maids do a great job. It appears the main administrator left and it's unclear who is in charge. The other staff has been a help.

My experience left me disappointed with some of the staffing especially administrators. They didn't seem to be as attentive once my Mom was moved in. Many of the Caregivers were wonderful

The staff is exceptional, friendly and kind. The administration tries. It's best because things get overwhelming in their beginning stages. They are also still working on a better set up for their dining experience. It's hard for me to tell because my aunt is very picky about food. I think they are still working through Their immaturity only being open over a year. They are very clean and updated in their facility itself. I would like to say that, and I don't know if it's across the board for all of the living communities, but we could sure use some help from them for other issues like a caseworker or social worker to be available through the assisted-living facilities like they are when you go to a geriatric facility at a hospital. It would really be helpful for those of us that are beginners at this and it can be very frustrating thank you.

The facility is simply beautiful, however, it was most apparent that the entire experience was about getting a "SALE"!!!

Their billing department was terrible. They did not respond to repeated voicemail or emails, and did not correct errors in billing. Our attorneys finally were able to resolve the billing issue. My advice is to get any financial arrangement or agreement in writing.

The food service is terrible. There is no leadership. No one checks on how the residents are enjoying their meals. I have joined my father for several meals and they have been terrible. He has actually left on several occasions and gone back to his room to make his own dinner because the food was so bad.

#1 our overall experience has been what I expected… Hence, I gave it a three, nothing over the top and nothing down in the gully. #5 I have worked very closely with the administrative staff because we've had various issues… They present well~ I truly believe they mean well it just takes a long time to get anything anything accomplished #6 the dining services up there is truly the black eye on that facility… They have a horrific time hiring competent people, keeping competent people, serving hot/tasty food. Hopefully things are going to get better. They were good November and December… They started a downhill slide in January and hopefully the slide is at least being slowed if not stopped. The facility is beautiful. Her apartment is beautiful no qualms there to be very honest with you moneywise everything that we looked at in the Roanoke Valley was within [fee removed] of each other per month, so it just came down to what space did each one have that you wanted or that you preferred. The convenience, factor of where she is and where I am played a huge role as well.

The place is nice, luminous and modern looking. It seems they are a bit understaffed though. And the food is not great and small portions.

My response was for the memory care unit for 2024. I cannot answer for 2025. They may have better staffing now. I saw mom almost every day. My overall experience was very frustrating !!The expense is very large and every day there seemed to be some care worker issues. No hearing aids. No help with dentures. Portable oxygen not charged. They just could not keep staff or get them trained

What we like the abut Harmony at Avon is that it is new and clean. To improve on would be staff. Severely lacking training and quality. Couple good ones. Rest not so much. I’ve came in there several times and they were doing coloring books while the residents were just sitting there.

I would say the average person cannot afford this place. It is convenient to drs and dentists offices and the grocery store.

The Chamberlin is not for people who need assisted living. If the residents are very independent and have a lot of money then sure we would recommend this community to other families.

The people are friendly. They need to be more responsive and they don't seem to have enough help
