Harmony Senior Services

It was a great place for my mom while she was relatively healthy. After she got sick and needed advanced medical care, the CNAs on the staff did their best but were not trained to deal with extremely sick patients. I would recommend Harmony at Oakbrooke for independent living and moderately ill patients that are mobile.

Unfortunately my dad passed away about 3 months after he moved in. But we always felt the communicate was good! The facility was very nice and clean. Never had an odor. Top notch facility. Dining was excellent very special. You order from a menu and made your own choices. Cloth napkins and very tasty food. I would and do recommend to anyone! Right after my dad moved in they had a Thanksgiving meal for families. Very special. They do this routinely and invite families. I loved that!

The staff at The Harmony Collection at Hanover are friendly and willing to work with families. The facility is bright and cheerful and the rooms are spacious. The housekeeping is okay. The rooms seem to be keep tidy most days. Since my brother is unable to remember to clean on his own, I depend on the facility to perform regular cleaning. I would say that it is average. The facility assisted with move in and lent furniture to ensure that he was comfortable. The meals are above average. Each resident receives a plated meal in the dining room and there is a menu for each day. I would recommend the facility.

I haven't met a staff member that hasn't been warm, welcoming, and helpful! I feel like they are friends and my dad loves to joke around with them. They really take the time to get to know their residents. I do think they could be better about communicating with the family. As the family POC, I haven't seen a single email with an activity schedule or menu. I have to rely on the papers that are posted around the facility to know what's going on. The apartments (at least for the independent living side) are beautiful! I wouldn't mind living there myself, if I'm honest! Appliances are new, finishes are new and fresh, and the entire facility is spotless! The only true complaint we have right now is the food. When my dad first moved in, he raved about how good the food was. Access to three quality meals each day (paying a little more for this meal plan option) was a real draw for him in selecting Harmony over other facilities. However, for the past three weeks, the quality has dropped dramatically. He and I have both discussed this with on-site personnel. Something has definitely changed and I plan on contacting the corporate offices about it since this is the only issue they haven't been responsive about.

Harmony at Chantilly is a very cozy place. Feels like home and very inviting. I really like the layout. Although in general the facility is clean, the memory care section has an odor of urine when you first walk into this side. The residents' rooms are very clean but this issue is confined to the common area on the memory care side. Generally, the staff are friendly. The executive director and head of nursing are exceptionally good. Both are caring and extremely helpful either way any issue I have had ( and I have had a few). The front desk staff are lovely as are the kitchen/dining staff. The friendliness of the nursing staff was variable; from very warm to indifferent and disgusted with certain tasks that needed to be performed. High marks are given to former nursing director [name removed] . Always professional, always warm/loving to family and residents but tough when needed to ensure the residents are treated with dignity, respect and are kept safe. High marks are given also to executive director [name removed]for similar reasons. Always willing to listen and react when necessary. Always keeping the residents and family first. Quality of Care- this depends on which aide was providing the care. It varied from excellent to lack luster. The quality was really good with lots of variety to suit all palates. Again, the dining staff was very caring and always had a smile. If I needed something else for my mom, they happily obliged. There are lots of activities. The movie theater is really nice. I do think in general, these facilities are very expensive. I will say that Harmony is priced better than many in the area. I think you get more for your money but I do think there needs to be more uninformed experience among the care takers. I u destined this is a tough job, but also think you need your have a calling. I must say that A Place for Mom was a huge help for me at a difficult time for me. As someone who was solely responsible for finding a place for my mother as she is unable to care for herself now, it was really helpful to have an organization that knew what to do and was able to guide me. The agent assigned to me was very caring and answered all my many questions. Thank you!

My loved one is currently a resident at Harmony at Independence and the experience has been very good so far. The staff are very nice people. However, like anywhere else, they are short staffed. The housekeeping in my loved one's unit gets behind or gets skipped. That's really the only complaint that my loved one has had. Overall, I would recommend this facility to others.

I like it at Harmony and would recommend it. Only thing they could improve on is their internal communication.

We chose Harmony at West Ashely because it is a larger and newer facility. I thought that would lead to more opportunities for mom There's been more turn-over in staff than I would have liked.

My loved one is currently a resident at Harmony at Anderson and the experience and this facility is very good. The cleanliness and friendliness are good. The staff, care services and meals are also good. Based on my loved one's experience, I would recommend this facility to others. It is a beautiful place.

It is a very nice facility and my mother is happy with new friends. The staff is friendly and there are activities for all to participate most every day. For the area I would recommend Harmony to anyone looking for assisted living, providing they can afford it.

Overall we have been very pleased with the care at Harmony AL/IL facility. I have recommended community to my friends having to make hard decisions about their loved ones care.

I would say that it is a good place overall, but a little bit underwhelming in regard to food, quality and activities. Those two areas do not live up to their advertised reputation. Beyond that, it's clean, quiet, safe, and seems to be a good sense of community among the residence. I would recommend it, But for the price it should offer better meals and more engaging activities. I find it slightly overpriced, approximately 20%.

Harmony is good at soliciting input for changes from their residents. And, I have seen Harmony take action to implement desired changes (ie. cleaning carpets, adding Dollar Tree to the outings). The apartments and facility are remarkably quiet... no barking dogs, no loud televisions, etc. can be heard from the hall.

Everyone that works there could not be any nicer! My mom does not like the food, but it is hard to please everyone when everyone's taste is different. I would recommend Harmony at Hershey to others looking.

My sister at her age and situation doesn't appear to like much of anything. She appeared to like it but still complained a lot. She thought of it as a hospital instead of assisted living and complained about not getting enough attention but later complained about staff bothering her too much. Staff were always pleasant to me and she socialized well anytime I saw her with them or with other residents but then often complained to me privately about having no one to talk to. In my view it's a pleasant, clean and livable place but it's not home and will never be to her at least. It's certainly much cleaner and brighter than some other places we looked at.

Nice enough place but overpriced.

Activities director is great - leads physical fitness and other fun events. Business office has had several hiccups and food quality and service is sometimes short staffed.

I would say that my mother is very happy and has made alot of friends. My mother is a social person and this has worked out nicely.

High staff turnover. Food preparation and quality and food service is poor. Outside of that all positive. Rates seem reasonable. Great facilities and room. Staff is friendly and supportive.

I really like the transportation to doctor, but housekeeping could be more thorough. I ultimately chose this place because of the location.
