Things have improved a lot since they hired a new director. Before him they had many different directors that never stayed very long. The cost is already high and then cable and internet is not included in the monthly rent. My mom is in independent living. Have not heard great comments about the assisted care staff. Most people seem very friendly on staff. Many activities are scheduled if you are interested.

She was in Memory Care. They were understaffed at times. I chose to do her laundry. She lost her glasses there and they were never found. She had several nice cardigans that went missing. Residents go into rooms, and staff has a hard time keeping up with that issue. The staff in Memory Care are very passionate and try to meet each residents needs. The rooms are very nice & spacious. If I had to find a place now, I would really check several places. There are more options that are available now that weren't available when we needed them.

Many wonderful staff. Lead by a group of administrators that really care about the residents and their families and the employees. I feel there is, unfortunately, a disconnect on what corporate is willing to provide to the administrators for them to do their job. Employees are also very kind and want to give great care to residents, but the staffing numbers make that hard to achieve.

I'm not sure it's all fairly good there's always things to improve on

The front desk staff was terrific. The nursing staff and the care assistants didn't feel like they wanted to help as much, even if you had an emergency, if you didn't pay for additional services. There was rarely anyone attending the desks at each floor, and several times I found those caregivers in the bathrooms, where they had been for 15 minutes or more. Overall we enjoyed my dad's time there.

I am in Independent Living and have found that the facilities at Harmony meet my needs presently, with Assisted Living and Memory Care facilities also available if needed. Three meals a day are provided in the central dining area, as well as a full kitchen in individual apartments for use if desired. Laundry appliances are also provided in IL apartments for resident's use. Light housekeeping is provided, and free transportation can be arranged and provided for appointments and/or shopping and outings. Some activities are run by residents, and some by staff. Socializing in common areas is encouraged by staff, and special events are arranged and publicized. In-house PT, OT and ST can be scheduled and billed to individual's insurance. This is one of the newer facilities West Ashley and it is modern, well maintained and kept up, with a "family" feel.

The staff was extremely friendly and supportive,however they seemed to be shorthanded like everyone else.

Very friendly. I feel like they look out for residents - even the Independent Living residents. Lots of activities and chances for developing friendships. Good dinners with good service. Always trying to improve.

Similar to other facilities there is a lot of turnover. Having 5 or 6 care givers for about two dozen memory care residents can be challenging. Fortunately for my mom as a veteran she gets VA help that pays for dedicated care giver support throughout the week

My dad was there for just a few months. His dementia was quite advanced. They were very good at handling his aggressive demeanor. They were on top of changing his medications when needed.

So comments on staff. Unfortunately, there has been a lot of turnover at Harmony, and I wouldn't be able to provide a fair assessment of newer staff members.

There has been some staff turnover but generally they are friendly and helpful. I would recommend the place. Dad has been there now for a year

I don't know what happens at other facilities but Harmony has a huge turnover. On the third floor there are issues with whoever is suppose to give medicine to the residents. The residents are told to meet the medic at the desk at a certain time. Rarely are they there at the time. Recently the medic didn't show up and the residents was unaware. We are still having an issue with the first payment that hasn't gotten resolved as staff leaves

The cleanliness could be approved on due to the carpet stains, but other than that, the community is great. Yes, we would recommend Harmony at White Oaks to other families based on the experience so far.

Nutritional information about meals served in the dining hall is unavailable. Staff is friendly and responsive. Staff is also transparent.

Whenever I have had an issue the staff has been very respectful and prompt about correcting the problem. The rooms are substantially larger than most other communities I toured. I knew this would be an easier transition for my mom to move from a house to a 1 bedroom apartment. Some of the meals are good but mom has complained about meals and I have heard other residents complain also. I'm not sure at this time what is going on with the chef and kitchen staff. Their service staff is very kind but not extremely organized.

They try, understaffed but they try. The meals are good and the room size is spacious for a single person.

Staff is caring, the facility feels like a resort! Admin staff could improve by having better communication. The main nurse has not returned any of my emails when I have questions and my mother-in-law's bill just raised and I finally saw where it said she was moved to a level two and nobody communicated that to us and still hasn't as to why the bill raised and why she was moved and we weren't informed

Brand new facility with caring and companionate staff.

They seem to be understaffed at times, with a high turnover rate even in upper administration. Hope they can address these issues soon. We still feel comfortable with her overall care. The staff genuinely cares about the residents and will quickly address any concerns that come up.
