My loved one is very happy with her move to this community. The community is brand new, so it's only one-third full so far. The place is maintained well, they clean my loved one's room once a week. The community provides a choice of either lunch or breakfast and the food is fantastic. They have a theater where they play movies, my loved one goes with friends often. They have a concierge who checks up on her when she's not feeling well, as well as take her dinner to her room. Her room is comfortable, she has a huge walk in closet.

I would give the food a 2. It was not what I anticipated based on the sample I was given. We are trying to work with them to improve this. They offer daily activities, however they are not utilized by the residents. They keep the community clean. I would recommend this and let them know about my concerns up front.

The Chamberlin is a great place to live. There are lots of amenities: indoor pool, gym equipment, fine dining, inside and outside activities, transportation service, every other week housekeeping, onsite rehabilitation service available, caring friendly staff and residents, and the view is magnificent!

The Chamberlin is beautiful and I love walking my dog along the sea wall and watching the ships coming and going. The residents and staff are very friendly and helpful. I'm still unpacking so I haven't had time to investigate the activities yet. I rented this place sight unseen and it has been everything I expected and more.

As for my experience I have found it to be just ok. My last independent care was so much more welcoming than I find from the community here. So far the staff that I have had contact with have been very nice and helpful. The cleanliness is wonderful. They are always working to keep up. My apartment is cleaned once a week. If I were picking a room again I would choose a two bed, two bath. I just like a lot of space. I have one of the largest 1 bedroom but I have felt crowded. As for food, it's advertised as a Chef prepared meal. It is not and the meals show it. I buy my own and have help to prepare in the apartment.

Friendly staff clean rooms my husband was not a very good patient but they tried. My husband complained they didn't come fast enough when he rang the bell.

My mother's room is great. She really likes it. Complains about the elevators being out of order a lot. Also says sometimes the food is not so great. Other than that she seems happy. Has made a lot of new friends.

The facility itself is clean and beautiful! So are the rooms and most of the staff I have encountered

Apartment is well appointed - warm, neutral flooring and walls, wood kitchen cabinets and granite countertops. Primary BR and both baths are very roomy. The common areas in facility are very clean and tidy. Weekly in-apartment cleaning service is just okay. They don't dust surfaces that have Knick knacks on them, and run vacuum AROUND things that are easily moved (e.g. pouf ottomans, desk chairs, etc.). Mom says they do a good job on bathrooms. The apartment is 2 BRs, 2 bath rooms, living room, sunroom and kitchen -- cleaner is done in about 15 minutes - draw your own conclusions. Food is good, not fine dining, but good if you're not looking for gourmet. Decent variety. Mom says that for the past 3 months or so, the meals are barely warm when served. She and table mates have gone to residents' meetings a few times and told staff about it, but so far, no change. Staff is very attentive and friendly, although follow-up is sometimes slow. For example, Mom requested a lower, stackable washer/dryer (she is ~5' 1" tall and has to use a 3-step stool to reach controls and empty the dryer). Maintenance supervisor came to apartment and agreed it's a hazard for 89 year old to climb step stool in order to do laundry. Promised to look into it. That was a month ago and no status yet. BTW, some residents do have a w/d that is lower.

The place is very nice. I like it here a lot. They have a wonderful activity department. Something always going on staff is always friendly if I had to complain about one thing. It would be the food. The food is just not good. I don't know how to fix it. We've complained about it. I don't know how many times and nothing ever changes. We just would like to have some good home cooked meals. Not strange things to eat. So that's my only complaint is the food

My mom has been at Oakbrooke for almost one year now. In that time I have seen a lot of staff changes, with the most recent being the entire management staff. It doesn't seem to be managed with the same efficiency & communication as I experienced with the previous Executive Director and staff. It doesn't seem that the new Director has as much interaction with her personnel as the previous one. I do feel the facility is still one of the best in the area.

Activities are posted daily... The staff is excellent... The facility is well kept and in good repair... There is ample parking... It is just up the street from the UPMC Medical Complex... This is good so when emergency events occur, response time is minimal...

The aides in personal care are great! The food is definitely not home cooking ! As long as you aren't looking for a perfect place ! It is clean and they are trying to have more activities!

My sister is living there, she loves it. She has dementia it's not horrible. What she likes the most is the friends she has met there , they are a lot like her. The staff does not hover, lets her do pretty much what she likes. She does not do any activities she would prefer reading. She loves the food, every thing is very clean. Her room gets dusted mopped, and garbage removed daily. She has a medium studio apartment. It holds a double bed, rocker recliner, dresser and tv, plus two fold up chairs and small end table. It has a full refrigerator , microwave, counter and sink. Every room has a large bathroom with a walk in shower. The room is plenty large enough for her. My sister is happy. I'm happy for her. That's what it's all about with this horrible disease.

The overall facility and experience is very good. The one big dissatisfaction is the overall quality of the food and the shortage of servers. Every dinner is a slow process for meals that are below average.

The staff are wonderful! Upbeat, supportive, caring. The apartment is fine for size, and the balcony is an added extra. The food is pretty heavy and bland. She's always been slim, and she's gained a concerning amount of weight since moving there. I know there is a revamped menu in the works, but since the residents choose their meals, I'm not sure that will change things. As far as I can tell, [name removed] doesn't take part in any activities. It would be wonderful if she could be encouraged to be more active, but I can't see her joining an exercise class. Maybe just organized walks around the grounds. Overall, I'm delighted with this change, and she seems to be content, which is the most important thing.

The experience with Harmony has been very positive. The staff is incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and attentive. The apartment size was the best of all the sites we visited. The food is good and the structure of the dinner service and the thoughtful table assignment (placing my dad with other military veterans) has been something he has really appreciated.

Well to start this is for my mom but I will help the best I can. She has been in there for 3 weeks now. And is starting to feel better about living there. She did not like the food at all refused to eat the bland food. It is an adjustment. She is not one to cook her own meals before moving there but not used to bland food like this. I ate there one time before moving down to Florida and I ordered off the menu (burger and sweet potato fries). I ate every bite. I do think she is trying different meals and is getting better at liking the food so so. They have not cleaned her room in the 3 weeks she has been there so that is not good. The size of her studio is definitely small but that is all she could afford. Overall experience [name removed]helped us out a lot in the beginning and still helps if we have questions. It is an adjustment and she will come around which just in the last week is getting better at getting out and adjusting.

The staff and care are excellent! She loves the people and activities. They have a lot of opportunities for social mingling.
