This facility sounds very good.

Very nice place, brand new. All patients mingle together. A lot of activites, nice rooms, etc. Larger facility with many more residence. Northfield Manor is part of the Merrill Hills group.

Another Sunrise entirely devoted to AD care through hospice. Well run with cohesive staff. In an outlying suburb, mostly staffed and populated by local people. Perhaps 5 years old with many original staff. Very appealing & suitable. Point system here differs from point system at Sunrise Wilmette.

We toured with Sunrise of Barrington and right when we walked in, all we could smell was urine. It was also very cluttered.

Communication is not very good and we have trouble getting ahold of staff members. I would only recommend this community understand the staffing issue.

My mom was in the memory care unit here during covid. Generally, everything here was pretty good. Most of the nurses were really great. She had a fully and they said they could take care of it but we did have some constant issues with it. They do only have 1 washing machine per building and there are 12 residents per building which caused an issue. My mom did eat well here and she really enjoyed the activities provided before the director left. They were very helpful and I would tell others to check it out and do not be afraid to move your loved one if you do not feel it is the right fit.

I recently took a tour to find a place for my mom, who is in need of an assisted living facility. I reside in Mentor and wanted something close to my place of employment in Willoughby. very nice place, I am definitely thinking of going with Maple Ridge. everyone I met was very pleasant

The staff is very friendly and very clean. They have a great view from the dining room. My mom likes the staff and residents. They could use more aides though.

Mom is in this community and they are very pleasant and nice to her. There is only a couple of thing that I hope improve, and that is the wait when she calls for help it takes up to 30 to 45 minutes for them to come. They could at least pop in and check to make sure she wasn't hurt or something. And they were slow at getting her therapy started. Her room is always nice and clean.She says the food is OK and the have a variety to choose from, there is a pleasant atmosphere in the dining area. She enjoys the exercise class and the music functions. She went on a trip to a museum and enjoyed that. I would recommend this community.

They are remodeling the community, however they are trying to keep it clean in the process. They did not let us know that the community changed ownership. They have a few social events for independent living. They have a continental breakfast that consists of a lot of sweets. They offer lunch and it is pretty good. I would recommend asking a lot of question when you look at this community.

I think this community would work for someone that was younger and more mobile. This is an old hospital that has been converted. There are multiple levels. My loved ones would not have been able to stay together as they offer different care in different buildings.

It's been an adjustment but mom is doing well. She is starting to participate in activities and meeting new people. The staff is friendly and kind and makes us feel welcome when we are there. The food appears to be the good mom hasn't complained about it. The owners seem to take care of the inside and out when ever I am there the place smells good and is always clean.

The tour went fine but they were not the right fit. I saw cottage style apartment with few residents in separate cottages. I also didn't think there were that much activities that would interest my loved one.

The tour was great. The people were very helpful and very knowledgeable. We did see some of the residents out and doing things. The person that took me on the tour was nice as well. The location just was not where we needed for mom.

On my tour I got to see how nice the facility is and got to meet the nice staff. There are several outdoor yards that are not fully secured, this was an issue for us. The resident mostly seemed to be older and less active here. This would not help my mom improve from her condition. Overall we felt this was not a good fit for Mom

The facility is beautiful. We were able to get my mom the larger room so that her couch and small table fit in. Love the gardens, living areas and entry way. They are going to be enlarging the dining room in the Memory Care unit. It is quite small. We moved in in September and lately when I have been visiting I feel like there is a smell both in the dining areas and in my mom's room. Now that things are closed up because it is getting colder it seems to be a little bit smelly. Most of the CNAs have been really nice. I always see the residents involved or resting and there are people around to assist. Am hoping that my mom makes a few friends though this is hard because of the memory issue. Overall, very nice facility.

We have a mixed review. Some things are great and some we have issues with. Sometimes we go in and they are just fantastic, it's clean and never smells. Other times it's evident they need more staff. They post the menu on the website, but when we go in it seems to be nothing near what's on the menu. In memory care if they can't make a choice, they just give them whatever. The activities are okay, but they need more help, and on the weekends they need a lot more help. It's usually clean, but it's not consistent, We have found a dried on mess on the toilet. The people are friendly. The care seems to be okay, most of the time, but a loved one has witnessed it taking a long time to respond to the buzzer. They did raise the price significantly, for the level of care, but we haven't really seen a lot of extra care. I have noticed that they run out of supplies in the room at times, and that's part of what we pay extra for. We chose them based on location, and caregiver ratio that they aren't able to consistently maintain. There have been some issues with insurance, and medication billing, I would like to see them ask for the insurance.
