The place is a mess right now. Old exec director just left, no new one. Chef quit and no advance menus. Staff on limited hours, no overtime, so there's a void in service often

It was lovely. The staff were great! The apartments are too small. For example, the one we looked at had a one bedroom and the kitchen was lovely but when receiving three meals a day more space could have been given to the living room and bedroom. They've lost a lot of their kitchen staff. Meals taking longer to serve and not as good. I would recommend. The facility is kept very clean and offers a lot of activities.

Just that they are professionals and will be supportive. I can't stress enough of the food situation at the Solista. Honestly what are the quality checks? And why do you publish a food calendar but it is routinely not followed.

There are some improvement needed in communication. Things often change several times without adequate notice. For instance, resident transportation rules. We did get a memo with different rules, but I hesitate to use it because of the way the time is blocked off Parking here is very tight. I want my family who come to have a place to park when they visit it or pick me up for medical appointments. Twice I have had family bring me back with no place to park. I am somewhat concerned about security. There is not personnel to man the front desk, which I think is important. They did ask for volunteers to sit at the desk. I volunteered a couple months ago, but as yet no training session has been scheduled.

I haven't lived in a communal situation, not even a large apartment complex, since college. It's a bit of an adjustment when you're packing up a house and then moving to a small apt. It also has its moments of relief. The fact that it's all inclusive is great and the staff is wonderful. I can participate in activities and be as social as I'd like or I can stay in my apartment in privacy if I refer. It's also wonderful that residents can bring their pets. There are great places to walk dogs, lovely grounds. I brought my 2 cats. We've all had some adjustments to make but we're getting there.

Solista Newberg is generally a very nice place. The residents and staff are friendly. The food is average to above average depending on the day. The place has its flaws mainly caused by being underemployed. Short cuts have helped. Management is striving to improve shortfalls which is to be expected. Check back with me in about a month for a more precise evaluation.

This definitely not the place for us. The art work was everywhere and I found it hideous. The setting was basically a parking lot. The rooms were tiny. We are not going to pursue any more senior living facilities.

Solista bent over backwards to provide for him with free bed, chair, wheelchair. They tried but his needs proved to be too much. I tried to connect him to Elder Services but their intake, when I wasn't there to shed light on[name removed]needs (since he didn't think he needed any help and felt entitled to receive extra help for free,) the plan failed. The person I was helping and was placed there needed more care than they could provide

They are informative and will go out of their way to help you They need a better variety of food on the menu.

Poor management,disorganized and non responsive. The food is very poor cooking ,poor menu planning and has no understanding of low sodium or other nutrition basics. The ancillary staff tried hard to do well but hindered by poor leadership.

The place is very nice and the staff worked hard to accommodate us last minute but it was not appropriate for my mom. She was too high functioning for the placement. She did very well on the test and it turns out she does not have dementia, just anxiety and depression. The problem was that we paid thousands of $ with no money back when she only stayed 2 days. The previous assisted living situation only charged us pro rated.

We entered a large meeting/dining room. At the far end of the room, we saw several tenants sitting in their wheelchairs with their heads down. It gave us the feeling of a warehouse for elderly people. Where were the activities we heard about? Where were the staff members who could motivate the guests? The staff was great. The facility was great. The uplifting spirit was non-existent. We have decided against Cogir of Glenwood Place.

They are under new management and this could be why service has been average. People are extremely hard to get a hold of and often do not get back to you. Also, I'm not sure how good communication is amongst staff. Also, my mom's expenses went up with no notice or explanation.

Meals were well planned and the service was good. New ownership was taking place during our time there, make any real evaluations , however we found the staff as well as the residence to be very friendly and cooperative in activities. Overall, I would give the rating of about a 3. I believe the work is done now most most cases and I would recommend the place to anyone as they seem to have space available at a willingness to negotiate accepting residence.

Very kind care givers. Felt hospice nurse was in good communication with nurse. No one there when my mother arrived to move her to her bed. Complaints from a caregiver about how she was going to have to care for mother. (Which is why we moved from another group home). Read the contract. 30 day notice is required. That includes from time of death. We complained since mom was only there for 10 days and we paid for the whole month. They called it even.

We really didn't get a tour. We talked to [name removed] but we did not see any rooms. We wondered around on our own and observed residents. We saw the weekly menu and the activities list for Independent Living. I thought the residents seemed happy and very social. The 2 bedroom unit they do have would not work for our needs. I liked the facility, but at this time it is not what I am looking for.

Concerns : Lot of staff turnover Food choices are not healthy and conducive to age related issues Leadership staff hard to communicate with. Facility is very nice & clean. Staff : some good , some not so good Activities: nice variety

The apartment sizes are large and comfortable.(5), The cleanliness and laundry care is great.(5), The food is pretty good (3-4 of 5). The staff can't be rated as a group because some are excellent and some are very bad. The activities are limited in memory care because of the 3rd floor location and lack of group space. The administrator of memory care is the weak link. They're not set up for really working with the wide range of issues that memory care entails. They want the residents to conform to assisted living standards and that is not possible. Molly, the front end sales rep is great and tried to help. I think that Fountain View Village is really good for assisted living, but not geared for memory care.

The administration doesn’t care for the residents . Food is bad , late in medication & providing residents who need assistance. No activities for men, several activities are scheduled at the same time which is not fair if you really want to do the other .
