very similar to Emeritus at Vallejo, but more drab inside and no enthusiasm of staff. Saw few residents. Nice exterior look but not comfortable.

So far, they have been very helpful, ready to answer questions. We have had three meals there - very delicious. The apartment was spotless. I would recommend this to anyone needing a place to retire.

My mom wasn't there long enough for a full review. There is really not much communication when the rates are raised. I got a letter they were being raised a month after the fact. Otherwise the staff was really great and lots of activities.

It was nice, but here was the big thing with my mom, she did not want it to smell like an old folks home. That was the big thing, if I walked in and smelled a weird smell I knew she wasn't going to like it and a lot of these places, not too be snooty, but a lot of these places that have a lot of people kind of have that smell.

My dad is not longer there because he got a lot worse and we had to take him out. He's in a nursing home now. When my parents were there most of the staff were pretty good. The food was horrible because they don't season it. The whole time my mom was there they didn't come in to vacuum but the staff was pretty good.

It only had a courtyard in the center- not much outdoor area for the people to go. My dad's an outdoors guy so that's an important factor for us.

Our 90 year old Mother has memory issues, but is well served and supported in the Assisted Living portion of this facility. The staff are all open and helpful. The new director has made changes to better fit the needs of the current residents and is very aware of all the staff and residents. We researched dozens of facilities in the area and visited 18. We found this facility to be the best for our loved one's needs. The staff made a visit to her home over 2 hours away to make the initial assessment and help us determine the level of care she would need. She is very is happy and active here, even if we had to kidnap her to get her here.

Positive: Friendly staff and pleasant outdoor spaces. Negative: There have been ongoing concerns regarding billing accuracy and communication about charges. The dining options have not always met expectations, particularly for residents with specific dietary preferences, with limited variety and protein choices at times. The onboarding experience could be improved, as new residents may benefit from more guidance, introductions, and support when transitioning into the community. There have also been concerns about the consistency of resident care and wellness checks, especially during periods of illness. Additionally, frequent staff turnover has made it difficult to establish continuity and consistency in services and communication. We hope to see improvements in these areas. At this time, based on our experience, we would be hesitant to recommend this community.

They have gone through 3 or 4 chefs ... Cost went up higher than cost of living. She is underwater every month and I have to make up the difference.

We didn’t care for the high rise feel of the facility. We felt like we were in an impersonal hotel. The outside accommodations were very limited. There was no grass area to walk around in, just the parking lot. All in all, we would not consider this facility.

Mom and Dad stayed at The Quarry for roughly 3 weeks on a "respite" stay to test the waters. It didn't work out, unfortunately. There were several reasons. First, the room they were in wasn't great, and Mom (who has dementia) was disoriented and unhappy. The food was OK (not terrible, not great). Because of Mom's condition, they weren't able to get engaged in the community much. Staff checked in on them often, but it seemed like a box-checking exercise - taking vitals 4-6 times a day.

They are quite good at planning and doing a good job of making Dad happy on his 101st birthday!! Improve on meals too many soups etc. Another disappointing thing as we have no table except in the dining hall where he and I can play a two handed card game...the round ones are too small and I brought one into his room but now I hurt my back and can longer set it up and the room we used to play in is off limits now.

Care staff were wonderful, particularly in my mom's last days. Caregivers were attentive and compassionate toward both mom and family. Nutrition services staff were super and worked hard to meet my mom's needs, even insuring she had socially appropriate tablemates. Some of the activities successfully engaged residents (particularly arts and crafts, music and gardening) but other activities could be improved to engage more residents. It is important that residents have family or a friend to serve as an advocate and to monitor health care, medications and activities.

We've been very disappointed in the memory care unit that we had to move her to. I would not recommend this location to anyone who is really expecting them to take care of normal hygiene and personal hygiene for their love ones. We are currently looking at other options.

The facility is very nice and well located near a lot of amenities but set back from the main roads. The apartments are on the small side but typical for what is available in the area. The staff is mostly very good but we have had some experiences which evidence a lack of training and inconsistent staff quality. Management is very responsive but overall more training for the staff would be beneficial.

During my first few days at Cogir, a staff member stopped by to welcome me and provided a folder with meal times and general information. While I didn't end up using much of it, I appreciated the warm welcome. Adjusting to a new community takes time, and I'm still getting to know both the staff and residents. I've already found a group of people I enjoy having meals with, and everyone has been pleasant. There are many activities offered here, which is wonderful, and I'm sure I'll eventually find some that are a perfect fit for me. A lot of my time is spent caring for and walking my dog several times a day, which I really enjoy. Like any community, there seem to be established social circles, but I've also met some truly great residents and continue meeting new people. Overall, I'm happy to be here because the property is beautiful, the atmosphere is welcoming, and it offers good value for the cost.

The best thing about the community is the location. The newly renovated apartments were done very well. There have been a few maintenance-related items that required extra follow-up, but improvements are being made. The community has recently added some newer laundry equipment, although accessibility and ease of use could still be improved for some residents. Overall, there seems to be positive change happening with the new director, and I think the community is moving in a better direction.

There is instability in management so being a first time renter the unwritten rules were a longer list than the written. Games haven't been up dated for a long time. Some games are closed because there is a limited amount that can play, they then save seats A lot of people need games or times to come out of their rooms. I came for more social times but everyone leaves after meals or don't come out at all

The décor and the food were first rate. Staff and service were variable. Rehabilitation was not good. The facility would be better for non rehab resident's.

My husband wasn't happy about having to be there and didn't go out of his way to meet anyone. Nor did he participate in any activity. I give it a 3 for the things I had asked them to do. He had a weight issue and needed to drink nutrition drinks (needed to be reminded) there were more than half left. Also he lost 6 lbs while there. They were to make sure he was at 2 meals every day.
