The staff gave a wonderful tour of the community. They were very friendly and knowledgeable. It just was not as bright and did not provide the comfortable feel we were looking for in a community for my mom.

Andra reminded me of a holiday inn, and we did not like the decor. The staff did give us a nice tour but this was just not the place for my mom.

I had my mother at the Windam and she was very happy until an ownership change. The quality of meals has gone way down and the prices just seem to be getting unaffordable. They charge the residence on every little detail, just nickel and dime them until it's just not affordable. The employees are very nice and treat the residence very good. The management has honesty issues they quote one price and then you receive the bill and it's not the price they told you. Since the change in ownership the Windam has gone way down. I would use caution and get everything in writing.

I think that [Removed] is getting pretty good care. The staff is friendly & patient with the residents. My disappointment is that when I visit he usually needs to be shaven & his clothes are dirty. He lost a pair of shoes which haven't been found. I'm going to put his name on his clothes cause I've found his clothes in other rooms & some in his room that don't belong to him.

I have a family member that lives at the Windham. It is very clean and the staff is so friendly. The only negative thing is the food. The meals have very fancy names, however, the quality of the food is really poor. The food was actually quite good before their recent change in ownership. For the amount of money they pay for the meals, better quality food would be expected.

My friend wasn't getting enough supervision, he had Alzheimer and he fell in the shower. He laid on the floor for a long time until he was taken to the hospital.

Management does not orient new staff well enough, everything from care givers, waiters in dinning and housekeeping new people get frustrated, seem they came in the front door and go through the back door, that’s the last one scene of them. Time wasted – 1 ½ hrs. dining room, much too long, by over active.

The place is well kept. My mom says the residents are friendly. They need more servers during meal times sometimes only one or two servers for the entire dining room so service is very slow. Not a lot of variety of food same thing repeated over and over. Thought they would show my mom around more in the beginning and get her familiar with activities in beginning. Family left to find out all details. They give a lot of materials to read through but would be helpful to make calls in the beginning to include her in activities.

My mother initially moved into the assisted living section of the community. One of the reasons we chose Brookdale Vancouver Orchards is they assured us that assisted living patients would not be able to get out of the building without a key card after 10PM and they lied.They also assured us that there is someone by the front door 24/7 and that was also not true. The first night my mother was here she got out and ended up on the highway near by.She was then moved to the memory care section of the community. The payment system also has not been consistent and I am waiting for them to work that out. I have mixed feelings about Brookdale at this point. I surely don't want to move my mother at this point if she feels safe. I feel moving her would be detrimental to her health. She seems to be okay and adjusting but we are concerned.

This facility seemed more like assisted care rather than memory care and the living areas seemed small and crowded.

My friend moved here recently and is having a difficult time transitioning. They could improve by offering more gender specific activities. I realize they can't have a blow torch or wood shop and they have to appeal to everyone but variety would be appreciated. They could also improve by providing more fresher food options. Less processed, canned and high in sodium, sugar foods would be preferred. I ate with him yesterday and dessert was a giant piece of cake with a heaping amount of icing on top. We chose this community because because my friend liked it the most out of the three options we toured.

Apartments very small and no where to walk the dogs. Surrounded by businesses and run down apartments.

High staff turnover and no notification to residence or family when someone leaves. The residence build a trust with these people they see daily and it would be nice to let the residence know when someone leaves. They appear to be conically understaffed. Rooms appear to be un- vacuumed for long periods of time. Wait time for medications are long and often at different times, no regularity. The price has outpaced the market the last few years and last two buyouts. The staff and management have really gone down hill over the past two years. We have since relocated.

Beautiful facility but the open house they sponsored was poorly organized and managed. The Happy Hour was very noisy and the dining room is small. Looks good in the brochure; not so much in person.

-Mom has to do laundry. -Independent living with a twist -Hefty one time community fee 3.5k -Nice apt -Price lock is 4k. Wow!

This community and the rooms are quite large. This would be to much for mom. It is an older community, however they do try and keep it clean. The staff we met were nice.

My Mother is a resident at the Windham and since she has been living there the place was sold to a corporation. Since then every time I go there the residence complain about the food. The cooking staff there has been replaced and the cost of the meals is not work the value of the meals they are receiving. I have seen this first hand and am going to file a complaint. They charge you $14.00 a meal and give you a sandwich or a bowl of lettuce topped with a beet with no dressing and call that a salad. Very poor food service, not recommended. Everything else is first class their but there food plan is horrible and grossly overpriced.

I had toured this community when I thought my mother could live in more of an independent living community. I later decided that she needed more of an assisted living. During my tour I did notice that the apartments did not have any scenery views, it was strictly of the parking lot.

Ok nice activities. Memory care area smelled. Director very nice friendly staff.
