The staff doesn't always respond when called. The new head nurse they hired a couple of months ago [name removed] is wonderful and a good communicator. The happy hour entertainment that I've seen isn't good. Seems weird we pay so much and they don't even supply toilet paper. Seems like they wait too long to replace carpets, kind of run down. They don't do a great job of cleaning the apartment.

Reasons for the ratings I gave: My mother's hearing aids went missing in the first month. I can't get admin staff to return calls regarding concerns. It looks as if the facility ordered a new wheel chair without authorization and I can't get resolution.

The caregivers were all amazing people, and my Dad loved each one of them!! So did we....Based on the experience we have recommended Avamere at Cascadia to others and have already recommended them!

Overall it has been great and cleanliness is great. Don't know about executives but good general staff, cleaning staff, maintenance etc. Meals have become bland for the most part. Big changes in chef, cooks and apparently budget. Also not enough wait staff. Long waits to place orders and then get food to table. I know the execs say they are hiring more people but... Activities are a high light!!! Great! Might add to note Cogir is updating rooms, the grounds and public areas. It is beautiful.

My mother in laws button never did work so she would wait hours for someone to come help her with something. Correction, she would call me and I would have to call and get someone to help her. Sometimes several times a day. Otherwise clean and she loved the food.

I can't praise the caregivers enough. Or any of the staff that interacts with the people who live there. The admin is fairly good with the exception of the business office manager. He is incredibly rude and extremely unprofessional

1 week after mom moved in the activity director resigned It has been months and I know of no replacement. Then the place was bought out and Mom says all the housekeepers quit. I informed management about 3 months ago that a blind needed to be replaced ( defective upon move in) and no replacement yet. The landscaping is overgrown by vines and dead shrubs are not replaced. The apartment is lovely. Mom likes the food a lot and seems to be making friends.

Can be more friendly. We picked this community because of the convenience for family for choice.

Older community, as far as age of buildings & furnishings. Great manager, but front desk not staffed in evenings !

As above - would be nice for bingo to be in bigger room-. Facility needs an additional elevator. Better ways to announce events, etc. Needs an activities director. More meal variety. More games. Back up genre for power loss. Emergency procedure drill needed.

The facility looks nice, appears and smells clean, and there are lots of activities. Some care staff are terrific, others not so much. Care staff response time can be slow depending on how many are working at any given moment. Care staff and management would benefit from "bedside manner training" - being correct is not the only important point... communicating actions and decisions in a calm and compassionate way while also letting residents be heard is important. Medication management is OK but requires careful attention. Sales/[name removed] is friendly and helpful. Food is average. On-site physical therapist [name removed] is awesome. Overall I would recommend with some reservations. Family may need to step in as advocates from time to time. Rent is on the expensive end of average.

It was difficult to be accepted when I 1st moved in, since I didn't come from this area. Before I moved in, I was told that there were assistant living available but after I moved in, I found that this is an independent facility

There has been quite a bit of turnover with staff and directors. When we first got there, we were told she could only have two meals, however, then we found it they were charging us for three we asked for a refund. They said they would do a discount on the rent and they haven't they've actually increased it by I don't remember what percent but it's another thing we're struggling with. When we first got there, they had a chef and the food was amazing. That was part of the draw is he was an award-winning chef. I believe that lasted a month or two. Since then, it has been a real struggle. It is almost to where we might find a new spot. If you were at a point in your life, were you needed care the caregivers they bring in all the nurses assistants are immigrants who do not seem to speak the language. They talk among themselves, but I have not seen them interact with people living at the care facility. That is the saddest part to me. There does not seem to be any interaction between care providers and the people they're helping. Once Mom gets to that point we will move her.

All of the above was real good when she moved in. Not so much anymore. Food quality is challenging for them.

We have many on wheels and walkers. We need electric door openers on the bathroom with heavy doors.

I took my husband out about a year ago . They were raising the prices too much. They lure you in with savings and then begin raising the price once you're in there. People just can't pay it.

The one-to-one personal care giving the most important for the residents. Yes, new windows, siding, and decor matter but Most important is well paid, abundant staffing. Please focus on enough or more Staff their pay, and advancement

If you are working with [removed] to try to receive VA Aid and Assist benefits, beware that Pinecrest will not sign the Facility form to turn in to the VA to receive benefits. The meals are terrible. Only once in a while are they good. My mom has lived there for three months and has yet been able to do her laundry because the washers are always in use leaving me the expense and time to do it. For all that is supposed to be included, you do not get what they tell you you are getting. The place is beautiful but they are renovating it to make it even more expensive.

I have been at a retirement facility for over 3 years. It was recently bought by Cogir. The change that disturbs me the most is that Cogir is cutting costs in ways that impact residents. I could list several examples but I want to keep this short. One of their most obvious cost-cutting actions is demonstrated by the fact that food service constantly runs out of basic items. Examples: yogurt, tea, juice, fresh fruit, and, most notably, the main entree at dinner. Moreover, now the facility is almost always short-staffed.

The staff is okay. They don't really seem to go out of their way. They don't greet you or acknowledge you when you come in. They don't seem to be too proactive. My Dad said that the the food is not as good a quality as his previous location and they don't put out much for snacks during the day. Usually apples. I feel like the place has been looking a bit shabby. There has been a dripping, gaping whole in the ceiling in front of the elevator. There has to be mold all over from it. It has been almost a year now and they have not fixed it. My dad likes the location, though I can't say that I would recommend it.
