Cogir Senior Living

We were very pleased with the service offerings at Cogir. It was a warm, welcoming spot. And our parents really enjoyed the food and the services.

We went with Sunrise of Old Town Alexandria because it was a brand new facility and I feel that the caliber quality of staff in a brand new facility rends to be at a higher level so that appealed to me. It is also 3 blocks away from where I live so it is convenient. I was impressed when I visited with the staff, they were very professional and had a great level of knowledge about dementia care. I would say that if you are considering respite care, make sure that you ask a lot of questions because I do not think the staff is geared towards respite, they are geared more towards long term care. It was a little bumpy the first few days trying to figure out what we needed to provide. If you have devices needed to be used such as hearing aids, it is helpful to show the aids how to use them and clean them. I would absolutely recommend the facility to other families.

I would refer people to this community. The only complaint that we have is that my loved one stated that she is interrupted a lot. I appreciated it because it prompts my loved one to go down and get something to eat but at the same time I'm uneasy with everyone having a key to her room, but I understand the safety. We had some issues with the maintenance person having the cable set up. Other than this things have been great. Everything here is great. The food is good and the people are friendly and really clean.

This community doesn't have a buy in fee, and I am able to do month to month contracts. The staff are great to work with if I have questions or concerns. Maintenance responds very quickly, when needed. They go above and beyond for the residents. This is a good place to come to. This would be ideal for someone in their late 70s to early 80s to start with. They have modernized the community, and updated the flooring to vinyl plank, and it looks great. They are doing a massive amount of repairs to the exterior of the community. There are no smells in the community, it is always clean and smells nice. There are sometimes the community misses the mark when it comes to meals. The breakfast is always great that I have. I have heard other residents say that the food can be salty or the meat is too tough. There are other menu items to order for the residents to choose from. There is free wi-fi for the residents to utilize, and basic cable to watch tv.

Food is great. The workers try hard to please the residents. There are lots of activities that they can take part of. They provide many trips to stores, doctors, and scenic rides.

This is a nice place with a great location in Charlotte. It is a good value for your money. They have activities like different parties for different events, Elvis trivia, religious singing that the residents can participate in, yoga and more for the residents. My reactions with the staff have been good and they have been great.

Carmel Place is a generally good place. I think the meal part could use some improvement, but everything else is fine.

The community was accommodating and were willing to work with me on pricing. However, the pricing was still too high.

We are generally pretty happy with our experience at Avamere at Wenatchee. We were familiar with the facility based on feedback from others that we know who had a good experience there and it also seemed like a quality, clean place. The location is has been great, it is very close by so I can get there quickly if she ever needs anything from me. She has been complaining about the food and quality and makeup of the meals. It started off good but it has recently changed. I would recommend them to others who are looking.

The staff here are very accommodating and patient and did a really nice job with the tour and spent time and explained everything to us. He had a choice of 3 different apartments and he picked a corner one and it is a perfect size for him. He is a diabetic so he is not able to eat a lot of the foods that are served. I think it would be helpful if they could maybe work with aging and long term services to get a diabetic nurse in and help with the menu. He loves it here but he has to pay for the meals that he is not able to eat. Overall it is a very pleasant place with friendly staff and residents.

I moved to Cogir in [date removed]. I have found other residents and staff very friendly and accepting. the activities are varied and stimulating. I like the group exercises, especially those in the pool.

My mother moved into Cogir [date removed] and thus far she is very content there. The facility is nice and staff helpful. I would recommend Cogir to others.

We used this facility for a short term respite care. The staff had to call 911 for my loved one. Once at the hospital she couldn't get back to the facility. The meals offered didn't work with my loved ones diet. I had to stock her personal refrigerator with foods she could eat. They said they could accommodate her meals had she been there longer. Not for respite. The staff are nice, it is well maintained. They appeared to take really good care of her. They charge fees for additional for care providing and that was explained to us in the beginning. We didn't have follow up after we left. I didn't know if they do reach out afterwards for follow up.

This was my first time in this situation and having to look for a community. This was a good community and a good tour and the community was nice. I just had to find something that fit in my loved ones budget.

They are very friendly, kind and caring at this community. They have activities like musical acts, bus rides to different places around town and downtown. They also offer a bus for groceries and Dr. appointments. They have little carnivals and we play games and have a great time. There is always things to do around the community to stay busy and involved. They have bridge, card games, counseling group, church services and more.

We chose Cadence mainly because of the convenient location and we had a recommendation from a friend as well. The room sizes are adequate. They have hired a new chef who has not started yet so w are very hopeful. The residents have just started a food committee where they can talk about their likes and dislikes. It is a light and bright atmosphere, there is plenty of outdoor space for when the weather is nice, and they have a lot of activities provided. The activities director has been wonderful. I would recommend to others looking.

We are really enjoying the services that are offered through their CNA's. Even though our loved one is in an independent living apartment we can still get med management and assistance with showering and bathing. We really like their daily activity schedule and based on our experience so far we would recommend the Carmel Place to other families.

All of the residents seem to be happy. They are friendly. The residents seem to have some turnover. The staff is consistent. Pick up for food could be more consistent on direction for orders. You have to kind of guess when the food was ready. You have to look for a cart to know if the food is ready for pickup. I would prefer the cart.

We chose Cogir of Rohnert Park because they seemed to be the best value for the money in the area. When we met the staff, they were very engaged with the residents and we thought our mom would fit in well here and she really does, she loves the place. The apartment sizes here are great. The issue with the food is consistency which may be pandemic related, the staff are inconsistent and some of the food options have been inconsistent as well. I would absolutely recommend to others looking.

I would recommend Carmel Place. This is a good value for your money. Your loved one would have the services they need here. The staff are very attentive and nice. They do allow an outside agency come in to assist my loved one when needed. The quality of food has been off and on. They have been short staffed like other communities. The community is providing more snacks for the residents. There are activities available. There is transportation to assist the residents with appointments and more.
