Cogir Senior Living

I enjoy Harvard Square. There are a nice variety of6 activities to choose from. Today is a 2 hour presentation on the Civil War. Other activities are also planned for the day: seated exercise, Brain Games, dog training, bridge, rummikub. I have a good sized apartment. You pick and choose the floor plans before you come in. Staff are very good, from the administration to kitchen and dining room staff to caregivers. The healthcare plan I chose has providers who can visit you in your room, so no need to go out for basic medical. I've also had dermatology and optometry services on site. There is a lovely deck offering a nice view and quiet time, or socializing.

Staff are caring and friendly. Privacy is respected and residents well-being are top priority. Management tries to keep costs down so residents can afford to live here. Residents independence is respected. Food could be a little better.

Both of my parents are happy with their apartment, the cleaning service and the dining hall. They are happier when Sunrise owned it. Now with Cogir some things are not as good. Such as less menu choices.

Nice new building with view of natural area. Rooms were very nice although pricing was a bit higher than those viewed previously but understandable given the age of the facility. Had limited exposure with current residents due to the timing of the tour. Overall had a very nice tour!

Overall experience has been acceptable. The facility is well maintained with clean and residents are friendly and the working staff are equally pleasant. I can only speak about quality of for my family member only who is well cared for. Her connection to Solista staff is minimum, but I have seen [price removed] employed a personal individuals who provide excellent additional care. Activities are plentiful and the food is above average. The administrative staff are lacking in communication and I've had issues with that and other individuals have expressed the same dissatisfaction. There are concerns that problems are addressed as occur. Their appears to not be preplanned actions when issues arise. In other words they are not proactive. It appears as if they are an accident waiting to happen at times. Yes I would recommend

Not a bad idea for a place to live but it's definitely overpriced for me. My sister's budget was not even within limits, thus therefore, have to continue looking elsewhere.

My understanding is that all went smoothly as planned. Members of Solista have been kind, thoughtful and understanding. The facility is clean and safe. The food is good but a bit boring and repetitive. Overall, the couple feels safe and happy. It's located in a quiet and beautiful area and good value for the money and I would recommend the community to others.

Our overall experience was good. Everyone is very nice, friendly and caring. The food: breakfast is usually cereal or oatmeal with toast or muffin. Lunch is the big meal of the day and [name removed] enjoys that! Dinner is usually a sandwich and soup. Overall the food is good. If you are not feeling well they will deliver meals to your room (outside) but it is always cool as they deliver it after everyone else has been served. For example dinner is usually 5:00-6:00 and she might get her dinner around 6:15. Maintenance is another story. She needs her screen door replaced since [date removed]. When we viewed the apartment and it wasn't done on the [date removed]when she moved in and it is not done yet! The screws are stripped out and he slaps shut on her who uses a walker. That's not good! Most of the residents seem happy as well. I would recommend Solista and a Place for Mom for helping us find the right place for our family!

My mom is the primary resident so I can't really speak for her and her experience. I am not there enough to give honest opinions. Yes I would recommend

The staff is helpful and caring. The food is mediocre. They have cut back on cleaning the rooms, which is an area that could use improvement.

Some of the staff members in Memory Care were friendly and others definitely were not. Food typically looked good. Very clean overall.

My mom seems to enjoy the food, they have a nice variety and options of you don't like the main menu for fresh meal service. The cleaning staff is outstanding! She enjoys her one bedroom apartment and westward facing balcony. Her dog lives with her. They have a nice grass area right there. The community in general is very friendly! Fellow residents are always out taking to one another. Hailey, the activity director, is a bundle of sunshine. Although my mom hasn't participated in any activities yet, they have a fun games, movies, and outings regularly.

Overall it is a very nice place. Open and bright, and good amenities for when/if she becomes more limited in her capacities. Overall we're pretty happy with it. The staff have all been wonderful and there seems to be a good variety of activities. My mom came from a retirement center in Sequim that was much smaller, so they had more field trips - like going out to lunch, or out for happy hour, and Cogir doesn't really do that sort of thing. But they do have a weekly happy hour and it's usually with live music. It's very try clean and nicely decorated. They clean her apartment every week. The apartment size is quite a bit smaller than she had in Sequim, but it's a lot less expensive over there so you get more for your money. As far as the food, I'm not too impressed. It was much better at her previous place. Seems like they have way too much fatty fried foods. They have a regular menu which is limited - things like a burger, chicken strips, fish and chips - all fried stuff. Then they have a special each day, but once again it will be something like Mac and cheese or Mac and cheese with some meat in it. Typically two or three versions of the same thing. We have dinner with her weekly and I haven't been impressed at all. But, that being said, she seems fine with it!

Overall - too much staff turnover. But the staff that was there were caring and kind. Facilities were ok when in a remodeled room, otherwise dated - but they are working on it. Overall it's a positive experience.

I toured the independent living facility and it was very nice. The community fee was enormous and I was told the assistant living facility was not good.

The facility is great and the residents are friendly. There was a significant breakdown in communication between marketing and maintenance The marketing person was great initially, but once the lease was signed, it was very difficult to get her to return phone calls or answer questions. There was a lot of things promised that she did not follow through with. The manager was very good at getting things resolved for us eventually.

The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The food is good but could be hotter. They need more waitstaff.

My loved one is in the memory care unit, and we have been very pleased with the facility. Their room is a great size, clean, and comfortable. They seem to enjoy the food as well. Overall, we feel very good about the care and environment they are receiving.

The apt was small, food was ok (no options for vegetarian) Beautiful sunroom to grow plants, excellent dog park, very friendly people. I would recommend. It is a nice location.

Walk-through video tour via phone was useful. The place looks nice and accommodating. It helped me realize that we are just not at the point in time where we need to nail down this kind of homing facility. Thanks for the tour.
