Solista Milwaukie has a very positive and welcoming vibe. Both the staff and residents are supportive, encouraging, and always willing to help one another when needed. While the staff can be stretched thin at times and could use additional help, they consistently remain respectful, kind, and helpful. The food is good, though the portions are on the smaller side. There are plenty of activities to enjoy-bingo, bunco, beanbag baseball, and even poker. It would be great to see a few more amenities, such as a pool table or a hot tub, which seem reasonable considering the prices. The apartments are spacious and allow residents as much privacy and dignity as possible. The community also features a movie room, a small library, a garden area, and a courtyard. Conveniently, Fred Meyer is just half a mile away, and Walmart is two blocks down. It would be nice to have a business center with a printer and some vending machines, and I personally wish I had a patio.

I first visited Solista Milwaukie in [date removed]. I liked it immediately but the cost seemed prohibitive to me. Like many who live here I am on a fixed income (sometimes it seems “broken” ?? but I couldn’t stop thinking about it the grounds and surrounding area felt much like the neighborhoods I’ve lived in. I looked in Portland southeast, northeast southwest and northwest and the issue for me was off street parking. I just did not want to struggle to find a place to park my car it Just didn’t work for me. I’ve lived in the Milwaukie area since the 60s and this is my “hood” and I wanted to stay here. I worked with the community representative. We sat down and worked through the finances and suddenly I knew I could live here. I’m happy with most things I’ve learned. The other residents are very friendly and outgoing. I’ve only lived here for a week so it’s all new but I know I’ve made a good decision to live here. Still lots to do to get settled in but it’s going just fine.

Admin staff are not clear with my dad about their scope, so my dad feels like service is bad. Some of his questions are not right for them, so they need to learn how to educate what they can help with, and what they cannot help with.

My mom is happy there and has made several friends. There are plenty of activities throughout the week that keep everyone engaged. I don't really have another place to compare it to, but overall, it's been a positive experience.

They have been great. When I ask questions or get ahold of them about anything they are always listening and helping me. My aunt seems to be happy and that is what is most important.

It's taken 5 months to get a refund back for the month she moved out and she still hasn't received it. Poor communication on their part. Don't expect anything other than dining and activities. Stay on top of any issues you would like resolved with their accounting department.

The staff was ok, but didn't keep her from walking and falling with ER visits. Activities were mostly having her watch TV. Food was fine, but didn't make her eat and she needed the nourishment. For a large facility, that's what they do. The facility was beautiful.

Friendly helpful, kind and caring staff ready to assist you and your family with all your questions and need. Yes we would recommend this community to other families.

This was the right choice for me after visiting several other facilities. There is a special welcoming home like appearance when I got settled.

The staff is very good. They are very caring and just nice people. The food is also very good with several selections each day. The activities are also good. They do lots of things for the memory care people that live there!

The staff is very caring and responsive. My mom feels included and safe there. I would recommend this community to others who are currently searching.

My experience has been very pleasant and positive. I made new friends., Ive Enjoyed the activities that has been offered, exercise class, flower class and bingo to name a few! My stay here has helped me recover physically and spiritually!

Food could improve

They recently changed management, got rid of the senior staff, and it looks like they are cheapening things up. They are also going to hike the rates for residents. After my mom's lease is up, we may have to look elsewhere.

This has been a very welcoming community for our family. Everyone is friendly and helpful is supporting this transition.

They always have activities and things to do.

Had it not been for one specific person who was disrespectful and unkind to me, it would have definitely been a 5. It's sad that one person can have such an impact when it's a negative one. There were so many other people at Cadence who were great. They took very good care of my mom until she died on [date removed]. The facility was kept very clean, staff were well-trained and caring, and the food was great. With the exception of the one person I mentioned, the management staff members were fantastic - professional, knowledgeable, available, helpful, responsive and caring.

I'm happy with the place. I think my father is too. He's an assisted living with level one assistance so it cost a little bit more, but that means they shower him and then leave him pretty much on his own. He is difficult and kind of needy, but they seem to meet his needs to his satisfaction and ours. He seems to like the food and there's plenty of activities but he doesn't always participate. That's the way he is. The staff is very responsive when he has problems with his TV, which is usually him not being able to figure out the remote. He said the housekeeping is excellent. So I would give the facility and the staff a high rating. I am a little disappointed in the administrative staff, they don't do very well returning calls if you have a question about billing.

Mom loves that each month, the chef meets with any residents who have input on the menu. They also have a monthly manager's meeting plus a monthly activity director's meeting. There are field trips once a week. To places like Japanese Garden, Tulip Festival, McMinnville Air & Space Museum, Portland Art Museum, Canon Beach, etc. Very fun. Nice, quiet neighborhood, but also very close to grocery stores and restaurants, banks, and the brand new library, which opens this Sept. Pets are welcome
