I am an independent living resident at Queen Anne Retirement Community. I will be honest, it was difficult initially for me to adjust to a one bedroom unit at this community after living in a 1600 square foot condo in Bellevue. It was not because of anything negative there. There are many activities to participate in, and the activity director is open to suggestions of new activities to offer and new places to go. This year I suggested we go to the Nutcracker, and just like that, it was on the calendar. They have a new chef, and he is very receptive to suggestions of new offerings. Their "Tres Leches" (3 milk) cake is to die for. The dining room is open from 7:00 am to 7:30 pm. I know of no other community in the area with such extensive hours for food service. The wait people get to know your name quickly, and this makes for a warm atmosphere immediately. As I assume with most senior communities, there is a bus to drive you to your doctor and dental appointments in the area. Both the assistant executive director and the executive director have their doors open so one can discuss problems or offer suggestions. Although I am not participating in the assisted living aspects at this facility, I have gotten to know many of the care givers. They are friendly, warm and caring. In my opinion, there is no better way to learn about a specific retirement community, than to speak to someone who actually lives there. While a marketing person can tell you many things, it is not the same. If you decide to tour this Queen Anne Retirement Community, you may ask for me to share a meal with you in the dining room, and I will be happy to answer any questions you have from a resident's point of view. Try it, you'll like it!

We have liked our life here. It has been easy to get acquainted with people, the employees are very helpful, friendly, and patient. We appreciate the option of having physical therapists and personal trainers on site and the focus on staying active with a nice selection of exercise programs. There are enough activities to keep one as busy as anyone wants to be.

Mom is very well cared for at Blossom Creek.

I am happy here, all my needs are met. Food is good, residents are friendly, staff are great, management is good.

Mom loves the place, friendly staff, decent food and the events they schedule are fun. The place is always clean. We love it because she is now within 2 miles of us instead of 28 miles and a different state, not having to cross the dreaded bridge.

It is a lovely setting with spacious grounds. The folks are friendly ; both the residents and staff. A good many activities planned to include outings. The food is delicious and nutritious with several choices. Nice lounges and a cozy library. Convenient to medical facilities. It’s a perfect choice for my mother.

My mother entered Independent Living at Columbia Heights, Wenatchee Bonaventure (before corporate change) in 2010 and 4 years later transitioned to Assisted Living there as well. She lived there for 7 years total before requiring another transition to Memory Care which required a move to a different facility. I will just say that management involvement is the key, and in Wenatchee, they have the key. Nothing is perfect, but as I look back, I am so grateful for the staff, (many of whom are still there), and for the way they cared for my mom.

My mother has been in memory care since its inception. She has received excellent care, though her deteriorating mental processes can cause disruptions for herself and others at times. Her physical care is consistent. Group activities help residents stay engaged. The physical grounds are well maintained. I highly recommend this facility to families seeking long term care for elderly loved ones.

My sister really loves it here. She seems to be happy at this facility and they do a good job in taking care of her. The building is immaculately clean and the housekeeping staff is very kind. The food is good and seems well portioned and she raves about the soup all the time. For activities, they offer things like yoga and a lot of movie watching. I would absolutely recommend this facility to other families.

Mom is in the memory care here and we are happy with the place. The have activities that stimulate her mind. The staff is very nice, very helpful and patient. The meals are served 3x a day and the hours are long no set time you have to get there by. Housekeeping keeps it clean and no odors. They will do her laundry and clean the room too. They will bring the memory care over to the assisted living so they can all play games and have a social hour. I would recommend this community.

The people that run Sunridge are really caring, and the staff is helpful as well. My loved one really likes the food, and she's been able to enjoy some of the activities already like the exercise classes, bible studies, and crafts. The place is clean, and my loved one's room has a bathtub, which was a big deal for her. So far our experience has been great.

My father is here currently and things are going as well as can be with any big life transition. The staff have been very helpful and open to questions and suggestions, and helping me get him as settled as possible. The facility itself is much older than some of the others we looked at but is clean and comfortable, feels as much like a home as possible and is maintained well. Since it is a bit older, the apartments are a little larger than some of the newer places we looked at. They have a regularly scheduled bus that will take everyone out to grocery stores, banks, Target, things like that, and sometimes they’ll go out to lunch or go for long drives, and they are open to suggestions by residents for new places to go. There’s also a driver on the staff that can take people to doctors’ appointments. The community itself has movies, a walking club, exercise, and there are multiple activities going on each day if residents want to participate. Location wise, it is on the edge of a lovely park with walking paths, and also close to coffee shops and restaurants which are very convenient when family is visiting. The only negative that I’ve experienced is that there was a bit of a staff change in the medical department and communications with that area have been difficult, but overall it's been a positive experience and I would recommend visiting to others looking for senior living.

My mother lives at Silverado Peoria and, overall, the experience had been pretty good. Generally, the staff is excellent, and they do pretty well complying with our requests. The community is clean and well-maintained with no strange odors. They do also have activities for the residents to enjoy, and I like that it is very close by. We have been trying to get a new wheelchair for my mother and it has taken some time for the staff to get the process going. I had to mention it again to them a couple of weeks ago, and it seems they are beginning to process the request. As far as meals go, they don’t have a lot of variety for those with special diets. My mother is diabetic and gluten free. They are constantly giving her chicken breast because they don’t have other suitable options. Despite these couple of issues, our experience with Silverado has been generally positive.

I really like to be outdoors and this place stood out to me the most out of the others because my room came with a balcony. I like to go outside and enjoy the sound of the school band playing next door. I’m on the third floor with the balcony and I’m nestled in the trees with a lovely view so it is very nice. They have even used my studio to show other people touring because of how nicely it is decorated. The staff there really takes care of us. They are pleasant, friendly, and always there for you. They have great communication and they are knowledgeable about what they’re doing. If there is a problem, they’re on it right away. Their cleanliness is very good too. They work on it all the time. They come once a week to do the laundry and I take my own trash out. It’s very convenient with the laundry room being right down the hall as well. The other residents are very friendly and welcoming; we always have so much fun together. There are plenty of things to do with tons of activities. The most popular is bean bag baseball and it really becomes a team effort. It gets very competitive, there are people out there that are 96 years old playing this! Everyone gets so involved and is cheering everyone else on, it’s very heartwarming. There is also bingo several times per week, exercise classes, and Zumba. The only negative thing that I would say is that they put too much salt in the food. The food itself is good, but it’s very unhealthy with how much sodium they put in. We actually have a meeting once a week with the chef and I would tell them about it and they do the best they can. I think it’s just because everyone is old and their taste buds start to go, so they add more salt for them to taste anything. The food is wonderful though, it’s flavorful and interesting. I would recommend this community to others.

I love this facility because they have a wonderful holiday travel program. They have 365 facilities throughout the US and I can stay at anyone of them for up to a week. If anything comes up like an emergency they are lenient on letting residents stay a little longer. Everything is included in the rent that you pay. The only thing you do have to pay for is gas to get you to other facilities. It is a very close, tight knit, warm community. The staff is wonderful and I like my housekeeper. She comes in weekly to clean the apartment. The chefs are excellent as well. They have decent sized meals with a lot of options for dietary needs that comes included with your rent. Even though I don’t participate in a lot of activities they do offer Wii bowling, cards, bridge, rides to the festivities in the area, and trips to go shopping. The management did change styles a few years ago and no longer have someone there 24/7 but what they did offer is a call button for emergencies. It’s a great value for what I’m paying and I would highly recommend this community.

My mom is doing fine. The move in was fine. It was going great until she sick. They are handling it well.

Staff is universally engaged, helpful, and cheerful - not one 'bad egg'. They really 'lean forward' to assist, anticipating issues and problems. Especially good 'onboarding' processes, with resident shepherds for the first couple of weeks to help new folks break in. Food is pretty good, with lunch being the weakest and most monotonous - dinner is almost always excellent. Extremely safe and clean throughout. Setting is pleasant and quiet. Excellent library - always a big help. My only criticisms: I do wish there were more activities, especially out-of-building experiences and road trips. Also, medical processes of all types for "independent" residents are kind of disjointed and uneven. It's all there - you just have to figure out how to access it. In summary, we looked at a LOT of facilities all across NOVA, over a year-long period, and selected The Virginian for a balance of reasons - I still think we got it right, for my Mom.

I also toured The Montecito, and it was a good tour. The lady that took me around was friendly and helpful. The facility itself was clean and organized. It was a good experience, but I found another place that fit mom's needs a little better.

I have no complaints about the tour I had of this community. All of the staff where friendly and helpful to my loved one and I during our tour and made sure to give us lots of great information as well as answer any questions we had for them. The building was nicely maintained and had a lot of great amenities available to all of the residents. I just found a better location for her in the end decision.

My mother told me she is happy here.She is just starting to get involved in exercise classes and she has gone on one outing. My mother is very picky about food and she really likes the meals at Brookdale. She is eating much better than she was.The people here are so kind and it is a good fit for her.
