I'm a nurse and I work with seniors who are in their final stages of life, so I visit patients in more than a dozen assisted living/ memory care facilities each week. I ignore the book-lined libraries, the marble lobbies, and the crystal chandeliers; instead I watch how the staff interacts with their residents, what kinds of activites are offered, and how safe the environment is. Empire Ranch is the best of the best. Empire Ranch has an excellent staff to resident ratio. The caregivers know each resident very well so they anticipate the needs of each resident on an individual basis. They know who likes to take a nap at 1PM and who prefers to join in activites. Morning and afternoon are filled with choices: live music, bingo games, arts and crafts projects are offered daily with something different day throughout the week. Their talented chef prepares fresh, delicious meals each day--complete with seasonal fruits and vegetables and ending with dessert. The residents truly enjoy meal times for the food as well as the socialization. (They also enjoy the homemade cookies and cupcakes served at snack time!) Resident rooms are spacious and are decorated by the resident and family. The feeling of home spreads beyond each bedroom with comfy recliners providing places to rest, a livingroom just the right size so residents can converse or watch TV, and a lovely shady courtyard with pathways meandering through the garden. The most important aspect of an assisted living or memory care facility is safety. This is usually the reason elderly family members are moved from their homes: they are no longer safe to live alone or with family--they need 24 hour care. Empire Ranch excels in safety. The residents are monitored closely, medications are given exactly as ordered by the physician, caregivers provide help with dressing, bathing, etc., and those who need extra help or attention are cared for with patience. Often, the elderly get their nights and days turned around; in these cases caregivers are there at 2AM (and all through the night) providing conversation and companionship to those who have trouble sleeping. We may want to have our loved one at home as they age, but sometimes it's just not safe and this becomes too stressful for everyone. Empire Ranch provides the care we wish we could give and they do so with the affection and kindness our loved one deserves.

Wonderful community with caring staff. My father was at this community recently and it truly was his home. He received such loving care from all of the staff at Empire Ranch. The building itself is really nice and doesn't smell like other communities we visited. We are so happy that we chose Empire compared to other communities near by. I would highly recommend this community to anyone who is looking for a community that specializes in memory care.

What an amazing place! After being accepted and rejected three times from other places (my wife was exit seeking), we found Empire. I have never seen so many loving people, from the Administrators to the medical staff to the care givers. Everyone cares so much about what they are doing. There are activities for the residents all day long and your loved one is bound to enjoy many, if not all of them. I cannot say enough good things about the facility and the people who work there.

[Name removed] and all the staff members are the best to my mom. My mother came to live at the facility about a year ago. My mother received excellent care from everyone. From the Administrator to care givers.Just a few weeks ago my sister [name removed] lost her battle to cancer. She was my mom's care giver. Now being hundreds of miles away in Texas. I found my else lost. But, [name removed] and his wonderful staff. Made a difference. Helping me out in a touch time. My mother is still at Empire Ranch and doing well. Hoping to bring my mom back to Texas in a few months. Its going to be hard to have such a wonderful place like Empire Ranch Alzheimer's Care Center. A Big shout out to all the staff at Empire Ranch. Keep up the great work....

Big Hug and huge thank you to A Place For Mom!!!!! I was at my wits end sitting at a table at McDonalds In Wilmington,NC , with my 92 yr old Dementia Mom Having a fit and me saying we are not leaving here until We find you a place, Low and behold I came across The phone number for A Place For Mom! Her voice was so soothing and positive I just listened And followed her directions . Within 40 minutes we were booked to look at 2 places that afternoon.!,, Lake Shore Commons was the winner. I said to my mom Holding both of her hands Is this what you want? She said it would be a dream come true. There was one Studio left and I looked at [name removed] and I’ll take it!! We all held hands and prayed. We will make this work In Jesus’ name , total leap of faith,,!!!!! We are sooooo happy. thank you Jesus

The whole process was wonderful! We are very pleased. the people who work there are super friendly, very attentive, and helpful. The environment is clean and smells pleasant. It is a very enriching environment for loved ones to be.

It is a large beautiful place. I have a large living area in my one bedroom apartment. The food isn't what it was when I visited before I moved it but overall it is good. My living is clean and the grounds are lovely. I had to get use to the hot weather but now am enjoying the cooler weather! I am happy with my choice!

I can't say enough about this warm friendly and clean environment. The very first time coming here ,I knew this was the place for my grandma. The food is fabulous with the waitress/ waiters very kind and helpful. The desserts are made by a great chef. Salad bar changes daily ?? . A+ for dining experience. Activities look great. Always something somewhere ,or outtings . The rooms are wounderful nice floorplan and spacious and up to date.. Grandma loves it ????

This is a wonderful place and I'm glad that A Place for Mom helped me find it. My mom is very happy here.

I would live there myself!!

I didn't need to move, I owned my Home and felt safe there BUT I wasn't leading the life I wanted. Most of my friends were younger, had families and things to do that didn't involve a 69 year old widow. I had no family near and I basically sat and read, ate junk i.e. no veggies, I ate pizza hamburgers anything I could get to take out or once in a while go out to eat. I worried about pipes freezing, I worried about other household things too. Now, i don't have anything to worry about except what I'm going to do, go shopping or not or which book I'm going to read next. Here I have friends my own age, I can come and go as I please, three good healthy meals a day. I've lost some weight because now instead of opening the back door and letting the dog out in the yard I take her for walks 4 or 5 times a day. She loves it here to because she's a people dog. I wish they had some travel activities like going to the beach for three or four days in the spring, summer, fall. Would be fun and I think a lot of folks would want to go and maybe some folks from around the area that don't live here too. We, the activities director and I are going to work on it.

The care my mom got while she was there was great. Mom loved the fact that even though she could not each much she always had her favorite cookie everyday. The caregivers are angels!

A delightful place and close to relatives. I could enjoy living there. Everything is well organized.There is only a kitchenette but small additions could make it very usable. The biggest problem is the availability of apartments.

I have a parent living here. The community was go U g through a management and staff change when she first moved in There were growing pains to say the least. But... This place us great and has d9be nothing but get better and better by the day. The staff is exceptional. From the manager to the cook. The most caring and determine part of the team .. Is defiantly their maintenance manager.. [Name removed] is nothing but a asset to this place.. He goes above the standard in his work and his interactions with every person I see him deal with.. Where ever you found him, you might want to find more to send to your other communities..

We are so lucky to have [name removed] here as our maintenance man. He is doing such a wonderful job doing what needs to be done. He doesn’t wait to be told what to do. He just looks around and does what needs to be done. Thank goodness we have him taking care of all our problems. He is such a hard worker and we all love having him around. Hope he stays forever!!!

My husband lived for 5 years in AL and 2 months ago transferred to the Memory Care part. I have been well satisfied with this facility for as long as he has been living there. Any issues that concerned me were settled quickly and to my satisfaction. Almost immediately care givers and med aides were aware of his quirks and adapted to him. I am a retired RN so I have high standards for his care and Cedar Village meets and exceeds those expectations.

I have had nothing but excellent experiences with the people and facility at The Bellingham at Orchard. The executive director, [name removed] and the rest of the staff calmly and kindly assisted us to move my mom in on short notice. Our family was really struggling to provide appropriate care for my mom when she moved in. She was immediately made to feel welcome, we were reassured, and they were consistently available to answer our questions. My mom says "everyone here is kind to me and I have made good friends." After only one week living there, she told me she was settled there and appeared calm and comfortable. This is a far cry from the distress, anxiety and anger we had been experiencing at home. I recommend this business for their committed and caring staff. It is the people who made this a home for my mom.
