I stayed at this community for about a month. The staff was friendly and helpful. It was clean and a new building. The food was better here though. It was just to expensive and they were going up on rent again. I had to find another place.

This facility has been a little less attentive than I first expected. Everyone here is personable and friendly, but there just aren't enough caregivers. The ones they do have are just out of high school or college. There is also a really high turnover rate. They should hire more skilled nursing. One thing they have done which is a very big misstep is they have forgotten my Mother-In-Law's medication a few times.The facility itself is clean and new. I really like that they have an App where they give us updates and notifications on what my Mother-In-Law is doing. They have activities like exercise, bible study, painting, and arts/crafts. I would recommend this facility.

The staff here did a great job with our tour, they took their time showing us around and answering all our questions. Everything was clean, The community is nice and the apartments were nice sized. I just felt that it was a too big and the atmosphere was not the best for my mom.

I wish the original person that we set the appointment with was available, but she was out on vacation. I feel our tour was not at a good time. It is a nice community, and from what we saw it looked nice. However our tour was not well received by my mom we did to much walking and went down to many long halls, she felt like the place was empty. It did not give it a warm homey feeling. The apartments we were shown was big clean nice! The surroundings are nice and country cquiet not rushing traffic but very off the beaten path. However we didn't really see anybody, and didn't notice any activities. The staff was kind, but we did find a community that was more active.

When we first arrived, the lady that was taking us on the tour was running late so we had to find some to ask what was going on. When she got there, she was very nice but did not seem as engaged as the other tour guide at the Brookdale. The facility itself was very nice.

During my tour of the Oyster Creek, I liked it in general, their assisted living area was beautiful. But then, walking into the memory care unit, it was a different story. It did not even seem like the same building. The place was not updated. The floors were laminate, and it all looked like an adult day care. That is the reason I did is not chose this place.

I am happy with the care that my wife has now. The staff is very nice and always willing to help. They offer my wife alot of activities and she has made friends here. I know that the food is good and she seems to be happy with everything. This has been a great value for the excellent care that I know she is getting great care. Families should consider this community for good care and a great value.

My father in law had respite care. The community was clean he had a very nice room. I hope in the future the staff can find a way to encourage our loved ones with taking care of their daily hygiene needs. My dad didn't want to shower so the staff would just let him. It was a safe community we felt he was in good hands.

They can improve on their communication. They have not informed me of issues that they have with my Father. There have been a couple of issues that I brought to their attention and they did try to appease me and resolve the issues

For the most part I am pleased. There are some issues that have been slow to establish on a regular basis. Daddy was suppose to have a hands-off shower 3 times a week. This has not happened. His personal laundry is to be done once a week. This has also not been consistent. I have been disappointed in the cleaning of the apartment. He is there because he needs the extra nursing care that they promised was part of assisted living part B. Sometimes it is slow. I understand these are seemingly insignificant concerns, however, it was necessary to find a different place for my mother after she was released from the hospital. She is on palliative care. She has special needs which include an Asept catheter. It became clear that Brookdale, formerly, Canteberry would be unable to adequately take care of her light of the fact that simple things seem to fall through the cracks. This has made it necessary for my parents to live apart at a considerable added expense. While no place is perfect..I am still having to remind the staff about what should be automatic.

It is a nice facility. During my visit, I observed a music session being conducted for many of the residents who were able to attend. A negative was I felt pressure into making a quick decision. The one giving the tour was more aggressive than I felt comfortable with.

Nice Facility. However, they have many difficulties in dispensing medication appropriately. They seem to lose employees quickly and don't do well in the training of new employees. If they could tighten up their policies and procedures and take care to ensure they are being followed then this would be a 5 star place. Activities are great and the director (Ella) is awesome. Weekend manager [removed] is horrible. Caught her watching videos on computer one day. In fact every time I visit she is sitting at the front desk doing absolutely nothing. Recently, I asked if she could have someone take some toilet tissue to my mom (they are supposed to supply this item)...She had the nerve to tell me that she had better things to do than to ensure my mom had toilet paper in her room. Well...it's true she SHOULD have better things to do but she doesn't do them. Day time assistant Naomi is very good. She seems to care and to make an effort to do what is right.

Canterbury GARDENS (independent living) not Court (assisted living). Cleanliness could be better. If maintenance gets done, it takes awhile. No followup on maintenance. Needs more activities especially for men. Overall I am satisfied.

Neat and tidy, friendly folks.

This is very hard to rate. Mom was in during Covid. We were not even in her apartment until a year after she moved in. Her pictures were never hung. We really don't know what her care was, every time we would call in there was a new wellness director. A new CEO a new activities director. It was a horrible experience hence the reason we moved Mom out. Meals were fine most stag very friendly and cleanliness was fine. Don't know how activities were as they never were consistent with keeping up the activities web site. This is a beautiful facility but poorly managed.

I thought Double Creek was a nice facility. But I really didn't like that it was right on the highway. And there was no place for my loved one to walk outside.

Beautiful facility. Many of the caregivers are very nice and helpful. The issue I have is with their communication. They advertise 24/7 care giving, unfortunately they do not have someone answering the phone 24/7 so if you have any concerns it makes for a long day or night. I started calling this time at 11:00 pm no one answered, I was able to leave a message in 2 mailboxes all the others were full. I called 16 more times thru the night finally at 6:30 this morning someone answered. This is not the first time This has happened. If someone would have answered or at least called me back I would not have been up all night. They really need to address this issue. If I'm able to reach the director it would be nice to resolve this issue.

Start up issues with dining room, water supply and landscape.

Due to a steady change of "chefs" and/or budget for food the quality of the food and the service has gone from excellent to mediocre. The number of wait staff has been decreased. If you need something repaired or installed, like grab bars, etc. there is only one maintenance man for the entire complex, so you may have to wait days if not weeks for your turn to come around. Otherwise, the residents are very friendly, the place is clean and the staff courteous and willing to help with many problems. One of the major problems is you can only get Time Warner/Spectrum TV, which is the lowest rated in Customer Service. It seems like something is always going wrong.

I once described living here like being on a wonderful cruise. However, there are two problems which continue to be problematic. Food is "iffy" at best. It is not representative of the on line and brochure brags. Maybe a 2 star at best. Second, housekeeping requires that you remain in your apartment until the maid arrives and you are given no specific or general estimate other then the day. Have requested 2 hour and 4 hour time frames and was refused. So must not leave until they get here or I have to wait for another week.
