Looking for a place for my mom, this was the second place we visited. Pros: lots of interesting activities, outdoor spaces, transport to mom's private doc, squarely in our budget. Cons: dirty. I couldnt believe how dirty. Poorly maintained. Reminded me of a cheap roadside hotel with chipping paint, dirty light fixtures, etc. The staff showing us around didn't seem genuine, like we were being "sold." With a little elbow grease and paint this place wouldnt be so bad.

With the level of care my mother needed, they were not there when the button was pushed, it took them a long time to get there, my mother felt that they weren't helping her at all but they really put on a show when I was there. Some of the people were nice, others were just going through the motions of doing their job. It was very, very basic and they always were nice when I talked to them but they didn't follow through with the things they said they would do. We left because 1. My mother wasn't happy there because she was very, very upset with the way they were treating her, they didn't do for her what she wanted them to do and 2. She worked really hard to go back home so that's what we did. The people from the outside were better than the ones on the inside, they put on a very good show and that's what happened, I did it quickly and I don't know if the other ones I looked at would have been better.

This assisted living center keeps showing up [on the internet] as a memory care facility, it IS NOT. The building is not secure so as a person with dementia gets worse , starts to wonder or becomes aggressive they are not equipped to handle it. Don't waste your time and money placing any family member with dementia in this facility.

Citidel used to be as wonderful an experience as a senior with mental and physical challenges could expect. My dad has been there a couple of years now. When we came, there was a manager named [name removed] who was excellent and very caring. Since then, management has changed and the staff is significantly reduced. There are seniors walking in and out of random rooms, falling because there is limited help to ensure their safety and my dad has even worsened due to the staff not ensuring that he remembers to drink his water regularly. The workers there have quite a bit to maintain. It is really a challenge to manage a group of seniors who are used to managing their own affairs, but now are forced to rely on the help of others to do simple things like remember to eat or drink. There is added stress on the staff and the resident when there isn't enough help to assist in keeping the seniors safe. My dad is in hospice care now. There have been times when I have come and discovered him in his bed with the lights off, and has not been up all day or has at least eaten because of lack of employees. He has fallen and no one can provide an explanation as to why, when he is supposed to have 24 hour care, except on Sundays. This place has gone from a 4.5 star to a 1.5 star. Don't send your loved ones here.

Cleanliness of rooms very poor. Staff playing on phones, verses conversation with residents was noted in more than one case and of more than one staff member. Observed office staff demeaning staff member in front of other staff members. Excellent activities for residents. We spoke to some residents about food. Quality of food was over all good.

I was not happy with the care here. They did not have a alarm for my mom for her to get some help. They did not have a bed alarm for here when she needed help. They did not do alot to stimulate people. Since my mother came out of the community the staff has been calling to see how she is doing. My mom had fallen and I was not called right away. They did not have good communication skills with each of the staff members. My mom needed skill living. I would not recommend this community to others for care for a loved one.

Mom was a resident of the cottages until recently. The place is clean and the grounds well cared for and attractive. What is of great concern is the administration changing four times in a year. You never knew who was in charge. Each one had their own way of following the guidelines. The help inadequate and changed so often there was no consistency. The few we could get to know were caring individuals but others changed every time we visited. We were told that if mom needed more help they would move her to a cottage with more care. That is not true. They asked her to leave as she needed more care. Of course, they kept her initial one time only fee of $2,500.00 entry fee.

My Mom was here for about 3 years. We were told if she did not show up for lunch, they would check on her. She fell one morning in the bathroom after taking a shower and did not show up for lunch, dinner, anld nobody checked on her. The maid found her on the bathroom floor after noon the next day. She had laid on the floor for over 24 hrs. She did not go back there after her hospital stay. We were told a lie. Some of the ladies went to the office and told them she did not show up for lunch or dinner. No excuses!

We were impressed with everything. We thought we found the perfect place for our mom. She was assessed by their staff. We were told she was level 1 and a good fit for Crimson Pointe. We moved her in only to be called 24 hours later. We were then told we had to pick her up as soon as possible. It was not possible for her to stay. They didn't even give Mom a chance to get acclimated to her new environment. We had to move Mom back home and we are starting over. We were told the refund will take 30-45 days. We are very disappointed. My caution is: their staff is incompetent to access patients. Get something in writing if they access your loved one.

Drab and dirty . I was not impressed with this facility at all. The location in Vinings is great, but it is need of a redo. Residents. I met just seemed sad. This ended up on the bottom of my list. They also were giving free rent on your 3rd and 4th month which was a red flag that the place was not on the top of anybody's list.

[Removed] Dimmed lighting to dumb the residents down and make dirt harder to see. The staff have clever little things that they tell you that *seem* spontaneous but are actually carefully crafted phases and buzzwords, cute and phoney.<br />Like dog food, what you're buying is a product that's cleverly packaged and slickly advertised. Do you really love the person you're considering leaving at Somerford? If yes, then find a smaller establishment where a person will have some dignity.

Our family's experience here was very difficult. Even with extra support, our loved one did not receive the level of safety and care we expected. The outcome was heartbreaking, and we feel that the most basic responsibility-to keep residents safe-was not met. Families considering this place should ask direct questions and look beyond appearances.

My rating for Charter Senior Living is a 1. They are definitely not for the residents, food is getting worse from what I am told and they laid off the good Activity person they had who did a good job of taking residents out in the bus every Monday and Friday and also doing crafts with the residents and kept the Director of Activities that all she does are the decorations, also the only thing Corporate wants is how much more of the residents money they can take in January when they increase their rent. Mines went up by [amount removed]

If I could put a zero for this community I would. They lie to you to make it sound like a great place then as soon as they have your loved one in there they start to turn your loved one against you and you end up in court over a bunch of nonsense that isn't the case. Charter sucks! Do not send anyone there they are horrible!!!!!!!!!

In my opinion, the beautiful facility is under staffed and the staff on hand was not trained to care for my husband. He was left alone a lot so he was allowed to wander around and ended up in other patients rooms. My husband has Alzheimer's disease. They ended up sending him to the hospital without my consent, last straw for me. The ER doctor is the way I was notified because she didn't know why he was there. Bottom line, they're not equipped for people with dementia.

We did not like the level of care provided by the nursing staff in the short period of time we were there. After finding a better fit for my grandmother, we found that there were many things we didn't like about RoW but didn't know any better when we friend picked it. While the grounds are beautiful and eye catching we found that not to be the case when you actually get a room. Unfortunately my grandmother had to leave for a short time to get her meds adjusted and when we got back a few weeks later her bed was still unmade and her bathroom was gross from others using it. We were under the impression no one would be in her room and linens would be washed once a week but that simply was not the case. We also realized having the nurses station around the corner and the nurses staying at their station rather than up and walking around was not a great fit for my grandmother's needs! The patients would just come and go out if my grandmothers room and their was an incident between my grandmother and another patient where no one could tell us what happened. No one was around or could see where it happened from the nurses station. We also noticed small things missing from her room when we went to pack her up. All replaceable toiletries items but still missing nonetheless. I personally would not recommend anyone use that specific home for dementia patients or memory cause but maybe the assisted living portion is great?

My mother was one of the first residents of this facility before Charter took over. My family and I were initially very pleased with the services and care she was receiving. Since Charter took over, however, things have gone rapidly down-hill. The focus appears to be increasing the number of residents, without skilled management or adequate staffing. There have been too many times when staff has forgotten to bring my mother to a meal or escort her back from the dining room or activity. Safety checks, which are part of her care plan, are not taking place. Her food, which is supposed to be cut, often is not. Meetings are held and promises are made to improve matters, and the same things happen again, literally the next day. Much of the care staff are lovely, caring people, but the internal problems have forced us to hire a private aide in addition to the services Charter is supposed to be providing to insure my mother is safe and cared for.

There were a few staff members that made it livable. The administration was AWFUL! It changed hands multiple times and they were never present. They sent a bill for dates in February after my MIL had passed on [date removed]. Medication took over 3 weeks and they made my FIL use their pharmacy out of state. I would not recommend this place for anyone.
