Charter Senior Living

I had limited experience at Charter but it seemed like a really nice place. I loved my aunt's room after we bought furniture. I liked the way everyone went to the dining room for meals and was able to look at a menu and have a choice. I found the area where the screen was and where events took place to be spacious and welcoming. There was usually something upbeat going on there. Most people were kind and friendly. I thought it was a nice place.

What stood out the most - Communication is excellent Food quality is very good Lots of activities Clean Most staff are kind; little too much cell phone activity among aides My mom likes the weekly field trips Responsive nursing Would like to see some activities on weekend

Dining. Lunch and dinner smaller amounts of food but breakfast plenty and excellent! Staff all wonderful ! Caring and doing fantastic job!

I think they need to get details on med management. Charter was not great communicating that all meds need to be on a doctors orders. Even over the counter meds.

Very clean, great staff, and lots of activities on site and off. I would recommend to others!

Dining area floor mat cleaned regularly. Meals getting better you will not ever make all residents happy. Activities and director are awesome. Staff all appear to care for residents. Perfume smell on some workers WAY to strong. Room cleaning has improved immensely. Dining area temperature to cool 66 or 68 needs to be 72.

Left laundry drying… went back to check on it BEFORE time set on timer had expired and MY LAUNDRY WAS GONE! Staff didn’t give a damn. Many of my summer tops & slacks have to be REPLACED BY ME!

I think the facility was GREAT. Just finishing a remodel and it's beautiful inside. Staff was attentive. Loved the management and administration. My only complaint was the first few days - punch list type stuff was difficult to get handled. Lots of loose ends the first week. Mailbox key, tv set up, routines, PT, medications took 4-5 days to get going. Other than that I really liked the facility and would recommend it

Staff are kind and caring. Need to follow up on requests. They have spend down for Medicare.

I want to add that my mother was not a candidate for assisted-living. The person that evaluated her before her moving in did not evaluate her correctly. She actually needed more assistance than she was evaluated at her number scale. So I would have to write them a four. All of the CNA's were awesome, but my mom required a lot of attention. For someone with a walker in the condition that my mother was in, she was not able to make it to the dining room. Otherwise, everyone was friendly and appeared to care.

It's quiet- nursing staff is great, very attentive to my mom's needs.

It's a family style community with a welcoming staff. A management team that is dedicated to providing support for all the families needs. Everyone is warm and friendly. Our search was conducted over multiple locations. And the warm feeling and the comfortable atmosphere at Charter made the decision easy. You see it from the residents who are in attendance and the vibe they have with being there. It's a comfortable place to call home for my mother.

No one is perfect and there's always room for improvement, but they have been doing a good job with my step-father. I'm happy with the services. The staff really trying with my step-father; he's clean when I go to visit and I go often; the place is not too big or small, just right; it's not smelly; I love the fact that he has his own room. They do the laundry, but I often take his clothes home and wash and iron them. I just really like it there.

They have the best activities director I have ever been around and considering I was a director of an Assisted Living in the past - I have seen a lot and she hands down is the best

They are kind and engaging with my mother. They just renovated the facility. I would recommend them. They are helpful with the residents, they take them different places. They have activities for the residents. The only thing I have a problem with is the residents are suppose to have a certain day of the week that they are supposed to clean their apt and sometimes they don't clean them on their scheduled day.

The staff is very helpful and busy. Sometimes it takes a while to get a response. My father and stepmother have adjusted well and have high praise for the staff and the facility. They enjoy the activities and have become regulars at bingo and happy hour. They like the location and have been transported in the facilities van with no problems. Southern Pines is located across the street from a lovely park and they are able to walk over and enjoy that space. Their apartment is much more spacious than any of the other assisted living facilities in the area. I think this is so important, especially for a couple.

Front desk staff were kind and helpful. [name removed] of Legacy at Bartlett Reserve therapy services was very supportive. Overall the staff were empathetic and patient.

Staff is wonderful kind very caring. Cleanliness and my after was able to bring his small dog.

Loved that it was a small facility! My Dad was the only male in memory care until his last week. That made it hard. The nurse and director were great. The office manager and the memory care director both left while he was there. The director loved my Dad and spoiled him! There were a lot of activities for the regular side- very few for the memory care side.

It's gotten better with the new administration. Prior to that the scores would have been lower. The phone situation at the end of December and early January was totally mishandled! Families could not get in touch with their loved ones. It really didn't feel like the was any urgency to get this situation resolved.
